Prologue (Volume 5)

Lautreamont Frontier, located in the southeast of the Arklight Empire.

A group of men were hiding on a hill.

One of them was using magic binoculars. They were normal binoculars, but these possessed a magic circle to increase or decrease their distance.

The man holding the binoculars was breaking out in a cold sweat.

"Hey, it's a joke isn't it? Tell me it's a fucking joke please."

It wasn't just him, his other teammates had the same panicked expression in their gazes.

Even without binoculars, they could observe the same thing.

An army was marching straight into the territory they served.

Thousands of warriors no, it would be better to say thousands of monsters.

Non-human beings of different species were marching together with human soldiers straight to invade.

"This is bad! We must quickly report this!"

A soldier shouted. His comrade pulled out a radio that used a magic stone and tried to contact home.

While the other soldiers, watched in horror at the monsters that were calmly walking around with humans.

"For there to be such a large army... they must all be at least B or A class monsters at least."

"That's not the only scary thing, look at the size of those dragons!"

Dragons. Huge monsters possessing magical power and different abilities depending on their species.

They were chained like many, but they followed orders.

Exactly what was going on?

Residence of Margrave Lautreamont.

A huge castle-like mansion.

The size of the grounds of the residence was 1000 square meters.

Inside, beautiful rugs, vases and furniture were being removed.

It was because there was a problem.

"Put everything away quickly!"

Shouted the chief butler to the other servants.

The central door of the residence was open, knights were coming and going in and out all the time.

One of them was running with a report to a room.

In it stood several men near a table.

"The peace treaties didn't work."

"Is there no way around this?"

"Diplomats are staying in the castle in their territory. They said they will come soon."

"We can't wait! We need it to be now!"

The official servants were frightened.

One of them looked at a person looking out the window.

"Margrave Lautreamont, what are you thinking about?"

His whole body was illuminated by the sunlight, but the detail that could be reflected in that flash bathing his body, was a copper mask covering his face.

His voice sounded distorted because of the mask.

"How is the evacuation going?"

"The nearby villages like Miol, Rukul and Frois have been fully evacuated. They are staying in a nearby camp for now."

"Good. Do not hesitate to give them food and water. We cannot allow the citizens of our territory to suffer because of invaders."

Margrave Lautreamont stepped away from the window and its body was visible to all.

Despite being called a margrave, she was a woman.

She wore a beautiful black dress with straps and red embroidery, her skin her hands, neck and chest were covered by a thin black cloth.

Margrave Lautreamont approached the table.

"I suppose... war is inevitable."

And the event of the treacherous villainess, had begun.

Today was horrible as usual.

My classmates were teasing me.

They would write nasty things on my desk, the blackboard when the teacher left, and in the men's room.

Today one of them stole my lunch.

I couldn't defend myself. I can't do anything.

I'm small and skinny.

"I want to bring Razel back, but there's nothing I can do..."

Thanks to Razel, the line of events involving Eli was destroyed. Thus achieving a totally different outcome to the game.

Eli didn't get her bad ending, nor did Lily meet up with the capture targets. What happened was that they became sisters and Rosenberg Household is more alive than ever, but at this time there was panic for the female members of the family.

Eli's future duke and husband, Razel, was enlisted to the battlefield by personal order of the emperor.

Eli knew that war was something she didn't want to experience. History books mark the war as a heroic deed and event that marked the peace and tranquility experienced by all citizens today.

But... at what cost was that achievement?

Blood and death of billions. The empire's history is stained red by all its victories.

Deep in their hearts, they didn't care about something as absurd as patriotic service or dishonor. They wanted their fianc back safely.

Lily wanted to cry, but Eli reassured her.

"Even if he'll be in a dangerous place, you'll see that Razel doesn't look like someone strong. We know he is, but they don't. So I'm sure they'll put him to do something that doesn't involve the battlefield."

She said with a smile.

"You think so?"

Lily asked with anxiety.

Eli hugged her to comfort her as she said. "I believe in Razel, my man."

Lily was nodding at those words of confidence, but Eli herself wondered if that was the case.

Eli's thought as she comforted her sister was.

(Please come back safe, Razel.)

We came to a place called Margrave Lautreamont's territory.

That name was familiar but I couldn't remember why.

Well, never mind.

Once we got our belongings down, we were sent in carriages to a destined spot, there, was a makeshift camp.

Boxes filled with labels of weapons, food, sheets, etc. They were piled up in different parts.

We were lining up to enter a tent.

There was a dog-eared beast woman there taking everyone's ID.

There were supposed to be adventurers only, but there were also knights.

From what little I saw and with how fast they were acting, it looked like a battlefield was approaching.

It was almost 30 minutes since I set foot in line it was almost my turn, I was scared.

How can I avoid being sent to the battlefield?

Yukihime was behind me.

I was so nervous, I couldn't enjoy the feeling of her breasts.

I was so tense, I couldn't tell if they were soft or heavy.

Then... my miracle happened.

"Rank C adventurer, right? Sorry, but only adventurers of B and A Rank are allowed to enter the battlefield. But all help is welcome, if you wish to register, you will be given a job."

Thanks to the guy in front of me. I got my way to avoid getting killed.

When my turn came, I acted like every background character would act like a total loser.

"G-Good afternoon!!!-I'm Razel Hiii!"

First, give the impression of being an idiot. It wanders your gaze in different directions.

Second, speak in a panic. People hate guys who talk like they're perverts.

Third and most crucial...

Be submissive.

"I-I'm so sorry! I-I don't want to go to war! My family needs money, but I don't want to get killed! Hiii!"

With this, I don't need to raise my face for the receptionist girl to look at me like I was looking at manure.

She said in an irritated tone.

"Please raise your head. I figure you must be a D rank at least, they wouldn't allow an E rank to come for anything in the world."

"T-That's right."

I lied, I'm a C rank.

"Good. Please sign this and we'll see what's available for you."

"T-Thank you miss, I really appreciate it."

"Uh, this... this girl is my maid, so she..."

"Yes, she can be with you, she doesn't need to go to the battlefield."

"Thank you very much!"

With those words, I made a half turn, took Yukihime's hand and walked out. With a smile of victory.

Now I will be able to live peacefully while this problem is being solved.
