Vol. 4 - Chapter 245 - Jump of the Giganteus, Flying Dinosaur Kick!

Wandering type bosses were the blockade to interfere with the challenger's advancement to the final floor.

In most cases, they were likely to be encountered around the lower floors, posing as a sort of trial for players. It wasn't rare for them to secretly peep at challengers from the shadow or suddenly swooping down to attack like just now.

There was also a tutorial like “Hey, I'm kinda curious about the bower of that tree, I'm going to check it out for a bit~ Gahh!? (Intermittent death throes)” scene in the game which was quite a piece of comedy.

Wandering type bosses were strong, so strong it wouldn't be rare for the whole party to be out of commission when they came swooping down at you.

Furthermore, had the challengers decided to flee, they would have given them a chase for their money across multiple floors as they had the ability to move between floors too. For the trial it was. Thus effectively rendering the “fled but won” strategy.

It was the common consensus to hunt down the wandering bosses, were the challengers encountered them, for there had always been the chance of them taking down you with another surprise attack even after fleeing challengers manage to shrug off the pursuer which was unendurable for them.

But, wandering bosses weren't famous for their surprise attack or their monstrous strength only.

Another of their specialities was to run away the moment their HP goes past a certain point, and not just that, they would even come down to attack again after recovering them through methods like eating on their way or sleeping.

Therefore, they had to take them down while making sure they didn't flee away.

The boss we're currently facing was Jurra Rex.

With the tough defense and extraordinarily physical strength, it was one heck of a mighty boss monster to watch out for.

The strategy to defeat it was to have the party tank become its target while the rearguard rains down magic at it, as Jurra Rex's weak point was magic, in contrast to its sturdy defense against physical attacks.

"I'm going to take its attention, Aura Point! Guard Stance!"

"Buff incoming! Divine Barrier! Sacred Demon’s Blessing!"

Sierra attracted the aggro of the boss towards herself while Lana provided everyone with defense and magic buffs.

"Lana, pay attention to Sierra's HP because this boss's offensive power is much higher!"

"Roger!"

"Leave the support to me! Cannon: Aero!"

The cannon taken out by Hannah was an attack item that fires off low damage low rank magic., something like a wind ball.

Aero Canon was a rapid fire item in exchange for its weak offensive power; it was basically an item to restrain the opponent with rapid shots.

一一Pow! Pow! Pow!

Hannah turned the mouth of cannon towards Jurra Rex and shot a three point burst.

However,

"What!? Boss didn’t even flinch!"

"Copy! Long Thrust!"

"Rise of the sacred tree!"

"Flame Lance! Ice Lance!"

"GRAWWWWR!"

Battle gradually began to unfold with everyone doing their fair share of damage while treading carefully, for it was their first time fighting Jurra Rex.

Among all our opponents so far, Jurra Rex was the toughest one with high offensive power.

So I was paying attention to any surprise attack. It was easy for rearguard with low VIT to lose their battle capacity from a single attack. In fact, I have no doubt Hannah would be knocked out for good from a single attack.

Fortunately, Jurra Rex didn't have any range attacks so she would be fine as long it didn't expressly aim at her.

Perhaps, I had jinxed myself thinking that, or that I had laxed my guard judging the battle to be proceeding alright, it happened.

Jurra Rex backstepped, pulling a long distance between us. I knew those movements, it was the strongest move Jurra Rex possessed among its arsenal, Flying Dinosaur Kick. The so-called Drop Kick (Dinosaur Ver.). One step back was the sign of it preparing itself to use it, and continuing to reel backwards means it's going to unleash a mighty dropkick.

Experienced people knew when to retreat while it was easy for newcomers to make a mistake.

And the unlucky person who winded up in it this time happened to be Ester.

"! Return back Ester!"

"!"

It's natural to want to chase after a fleeing enemy.

I had told everyone to be precisely careful about these feelings beforehand but Ester had apparently forgotten my teaching in the heat of the moment.

Ester hurriedly stopped her chase when I called out to her, but that was all in all, a bad move.

She should have retreated immediately without stopping! But were the time against her, neither could Sierra Cover Shield able to make it in time and Jurra Rex's body shook as it made its jump.

"GRAWWWWR!"

"Kyaa!"

It was, ultimately, a direct hit.

Ester was sent flying back to far distance, shaving off her 40% HP at once while also incurring Jurra Rex's attention.

Jurra Rex's aggro had been shifted to now knocked-down Ester.

T/N : Changing Blessing of the sacred demon to Sacred demon blessing. I am looking into skills names and kinda going to change some odd sounding one and the one that could be simplified.
