"This is the end! <Shining Sabre of the Sacred Light>!"
"Guh-meow!? Grh......meow......"
"We did it!"
Lana's <Shining Sabre of the Sacred Light> slammed into the <Meowlantis of the Wave Cat>, the field boss of the 20th floor, reaping its silver lining of HP as it disappeared amidst the sea of light particles.
The fight this time was undertaken by Team B alone, with Team A watching from the sideline, a reverse case from the 10th floor boss battle.
As they saw the disappearance of <Meowlantis>, Lana and party gave a high-five to each other. The battle was over so we approached Team B.
"Good job, everyone. That was a wonderful victory."
"Fufu, right?"
Ohh, here comes Lana's signature smug face. Well, she did indeed contributed the most in this fight, since boss's weakness was magic. Furthermore, she was also getting increasingly dissatisfied that she couldn't struck down the cat monsters properly, so it just helped her blow out her steam.
"It was indeed a tough opponent but we managed to take it down without you. I think we can somehow handle things later."
Sierra joined in.
"You can do it. Your performance was also splendid. I think Int-mid shouldn't pose any obstacle to you if you keep this up."
"You were great, Sierra-san. Here, have some water."
"Thank you."
This battle against the field boss was really a first-time experience for the <Eden>. A battle where they challenged the frontline boss with a party without me. Usually, I, in a party, would step forward to show them the ropes.
Sierra didn't let it out but she seemed to be a bit nervous. I was a bit glad that she relied on me.
"What is it, Zephyr?"
"It's an item to use during taming. It's name is <Master Craftsman's Cat Teaser>. It is a rare item that drastically boosts the success rate of taming a cat type monster when a <Tamer> attempts it."
This was another item from the fortune cat series, and likewise, it had a higher chance to drop in <Cat-Dun>.
Since they were monsters that appeared alone, they were absolutely stronger than most. Their attribute value was equally much better than normal monsters.
But it's also because of these reasons that the success rate of taming was considerably low. No, considerably would be an understatement I guess. The probability of failing was in fact 99% through normal means.
That's why <Master Craftsman's Cat Teaser> was an indispensable item in that moment.
Everyone looked at the cat teaser in Lana's hand with admiration hearing my explanation. Though, Ester only muttered 'Tame...' that pulled my attention towards her. You know you can't, right?
"Alright guys, it's soon going to be dark so we are going to wrap up here."
"Yeah. We have managed to reach 20th floor as planned at least."
"I was really worried for a moment when everyone suddenly decided to have a cat-viewing picnic event on the first floor."
As I raised my voice to end the exploration for today here, Sierra said with a sigh, apparently glad that we didn't fall behind in the schedule. No, seriously. I was really nervous if we could do it or not. I had made up my mind to go on full sprint mode with the Ester's carriage in case we fall behind. Fortunately, we managed to pull it.
Everyone registered themselves on the 20th floor teleportation circle and from there, we left. Before leaving, Lana had asked me, "Say, Ester looks like she really wants this cat teaser. How about I give it to her?"
"......You can't."
I was having an uneasy foreboding to have <Master Craftsman's Cat Teaser> so I took it in my custody. And Ester, be content with normal cat teaser.
Afterward, I visited untalkative Gant-senpai's shop to have both <Gold Cat Coin> fully enhanced with <Skill Reinforcement Jewel> and call it a day there.
We had been steadily stocking up <Skill Reinforcement Jewel> from the <Silver Chest> until now, so there were still plenty left. Makes me wonder if we would be able to encounter <Golden Meow-Meow> again~.
