The preparations for the Interclass battle were progressing steadily.
We were currency out for training—something we couldn’t miss out on with everyone’s inexperience at the «Capture the Base» format.
Hiding ourselves from the eyes of other classes, we had come to the 3rd floor of one of the Beg-high dungeons—«Flower Garden of Solitary Island», practicing our coordination in secrecy.
Obviously, we, the «Eden», had been refraining from showing our advanced job skills, sticking only to base job’s skill or magic. Only a grandiose stage would be fitting for something as amazing as them after all, ahahaha!
The stupefied gazes...oh, so I am looking forward to them!
Lana seemed to be suppressing a grin just imagining it—well, she was doing a poor job on it though. A bit of it was showing. Ester had a warm, fascinating smile on her face as she noticed that look on Lana, looking amused. Sierra was... as cool as always. Karua looked sleepy, which was the usual for her as well.
As for me, no one minds if my excitement goes through the roof. For some reason, that’s just how it’s expected. So, I gave my commands loudly without hesitation.
“Defense team! The enemy—roleplaying by the raid team—will soon breach the defensive line. Are you ready? Celia, I’m handing over command to you. I’m counting on you.”
“Yes, leave it to me!—We’re commencing the elimination of invaders who have crossed the defensive line! Take your positions!”
This dungeon was an isolated island, so jagged rocks jut out everywhere. We’d use some of them to form a defensive line, where we’ve stationed our defense team for training. Following Celia’s instructions, the defense team members hiding behind the rocks signal that they’re ready to go at any time.
The vice-commander of the defense team was Celia. I had more or less a guess I’d often have to leave the base and head to the front lines, so I’ve been training Celia to ensure she can effectively command in my absence.
Originally, there was talk of having Sierra for the defense vice-commander, but Sierra shines at the frontline, where she could protect her allies wholeheartedly. She wouldn’t have the capacity to also give out commands, and it would be a waste of her potential as well, so it was decided that a rear-guard member would serve as vice-commander.
Celia might appear no more than an overly doting big-sister when with Lulu, nonetheless she had still been a sagious elf. She’d every bit as sharp as Mert, a fact that she never fell into perilous situations against monsters. Sure, she was good-for-nothing with her speech too usually, but she had the highest INT in the «Eden».
Her battle style involved the unique skill–Advent of Great Spirit. The Great Spirit could independently follow her commands, so Celia would have no problem in leading the personal battle and team battle. Plus, the act of commanding the Great Order to assist her in fights had already instilled the knack for such a situation.
With favors stacked in her side, Celia became the indisputable vice-commander.
“They’re in sight. —Stay calm hold your position until they’re drawn in closer—”
“Press on! Close-combat team, charge! Long-range team, provide support!”
At that command, those in the defense team who specialized in close combat rushed out from their hiding spots.
“I will follow with support. «Advent of Great Spirit»! — «Tenberion»! Pray assist us with your abilities, Tenberion.”
“———”
Celia, who was beside me, summoned the Great Spirit of Darkness, Tenberion. The spirit sported jet black hair, purple eyes, and wore a revealing dress that left her midriff, shoulders, and other areas exposed. Appearance-wise, she stood somewhere in the middle of a girl and a woman.
In her left hand, she held a floating pitch black orb, and in her right hand, a red-black grimoire hovered. As the Great Spirit of Darkness, She primarily fought with the combination of debuff casting and dark-element magic.
I think she was going to be Celia’s go-to for the battles this time.
“«Magic Ally - Power Boost»! «Magic Ally - Defense Boost!» «Magic Ally - Magic Boost»! «Magic Ally - Speed Boost»!’
Following that, a multitude of buffs covered the allies, strengthening them.
“Thanks, Emi. Let’s keep going. «Magic Bow - Power Shot»! «Magic Bow - Blind Shot»! «Magic Bow - Four Arrows of Light»! «Magic Bow - Sniping»!”
“Lucky! Here I go—«Magic Sword - Sweeping Edge»! «Magic Sword - Third Strike»! And time for my ultimate move—«Magic Sword - Aura Blade»!’
Yuuka, who had done her own training in the summer break, shot down any monsters trying to escape out of the area, while Sachi charged into the group and unleashed the barrage of her moves. With a mighty slash of her sword, imbued with intense light, she sent forth shockwaves—that could be described as a torrent of light, as they struck the monsters left and right, immediately, wiping them out of the face of earth. ...Well, It’s a bit overkill to use such a powerful move in a Beg-high dungeon.
The coordination this time between Harmonic Trio was top notch. In the last battle, they had failed in strategising enough, acting independently that consequently hindered them from bringing out the true potential of their jobs. At the same time, «Magic Equipment» series of jobs was more suited for defense than attack. In the battle, it was easy to lost in the crowd, losing the sight of comrades that had boost their strength. Concluding on that note, the trio was now pushed to hold the forte here.
From their performance, which was the 5th round, I would say they had gotten quite familiar on how to act as one with the other two.
Eventually, the monsters had been completely wiped out, with minimal damage to our force. This was proof enough that they could hold their forte when times called for a desperate moment.
And this practice sessions after classes continued till saturday.
