Vol. 3 - Ch. 183 - <Fat Ball> Round—Karua’s Time!

"Hnn. <Vital Stab>!""Gege!?"

"It's down! Nice shot, Karua! Time to go all-out everyone!"

"...... Throb-throb... Throb."

Everyone hurls their strongest attacks at my order and boss’ HP drops to 0 and disappears.

It's the 20th time so we have already become used to this scene. Though, it's really hard not to laugh no matter how many times I look at the scene of a chubby <Fat Ball Ghost> like daruma withering away.

We are currently grinding for the boss <Fat Ball Ghost> in the <Ghost Cave Dungeon>.

Originally, our plan was just to clear away the dungeon once and not grind but we changed our plan when Karua equipped the Ice attribute dagger, <Ice Me>. Hence the <Fat Ball> hunting.

"V!"¹

"Karua has come to play an active role"

"Yeah, to the point I'm jealous."

Rika, the only one who doesn't have any means of dealing attribute damage to <Ghost-Like Characteristics>, looks at Karua with envious gaze. Since there are very few jobs which make it possible to equip katanas, the specific drops are hard to get.

To say nothing about finding a katana blessed with attributes so easily.

<Samurai Princess> do have all sorts of attribute attack skills when they’ve unlocked the third order tree but I guess she must have wanted to use it while she's still at the 2nd order tree.

That's why this time Rika is only playing the tank role with her taunt skills.

On the other hand, Karua's performance after she got the attribute weapon on her hand was spectacular.

Although she only has one weapon for her twin dagger fighting style, she defeated those tiny ghosts in the twinkling of an eye thanks to the fast moves she possesses in her arsenal.

Not to say with her quick speed, she nimbly moves between the pipsqueaks and main body, opening up to a new fighting style. It's fascinating.

But of course, it's not like she just has her agility or speedy moves, she also has a multitude of single-shot strong skills similar to the <Vital Stab> she used to bring down the <Fat Ball>. <Vital Stab> has the effect to easily make your hit critical when the monster is under knockback effect or in suspended animation effect while activating unique skills. It's really a strong skill that has a high affinity with Rika.

"Thank you for your hard work~. It's about time to leave."

"Huh, is it time?"

"Time flies fast when you're having fun, doesn't it?"

I'm sure the sky must have already dyed in the evening flow judging from the time.

Though Lana and Hannah seem like they still haven't enough of it yet.

Well, I can understand their feeling since 20 rounds is a bit inferior compared to our usual grind.

That's because it takes time for <Fat Ball> to attack in several steps. Around twice as much time as your usual boss.

But it also drops many items that make our time worth it. <Fat Ball> drops a lot of magic or attribute weapons. Even the <Mana Light Wand>, which comes with a slot only drops here in the beginner-mid grade dungeon.

"Yeah. Though, it's unfortunate I still didn't manage to grab an enchanted katana."

The reward of our final round is a single wooden chest. Rika mutters out in disappointment looking at it.

"Cheer up, I'm sure you will get it soon. Besides, the twin katanas hanging on your waist are also strong, aren't they?"

The performance of the beginner katanas of <Marquis> and <Princess> is so strong that you can even use them to fight in an intermediate-higher grade dungeon. It's completely on a different level compared to the drops from beginner-mid grade dungeons.

"Haha, well they are. I just wanted to have a new weapon."

"I can understand how you feel."

I get thrilled at the sight of new weapons. Furthermore, I also want to collect all weapons. I gave up on collecting them in the game mid-way because it was almost impossible to save Mir in <Dungeon Activity> but I really wanted to collect all the weapons without needing to sell them and conquer the game.

There's also a collector 's ending if one can accomplish it but I couldn't do it in the end. It's a little regrettable.

Just as we finished collecting all our drops, I sensed the presence of people from the door side.

Seems like there are people waiting for the boss room to be free. That's quite rare. I wonder if they are freshmans? I was a bit curious so I slightly strained my ears to eavesdrop.

"I'm sure if it's our muscle, we will be able to make a breakthrough against the <Fat Ball Ghost Special>!"

"That's right! It's now our time to show our reborn muscles, just like a magnificent phoenix after nirvana!"

"No way in hell we are going to lose against a ghost's muscle! We will show that it's no match for the beauty of real muscles!"

"Muscles are amazing! Heave-ho!"

"Heave-ho! Heave-ho!"

...... Crap.

It's the <Machos> guild of muscle-san. I couldn't be wrong about this.

But heave-ho, heave-ho is...... This completely sounds like they have come to participate in the festival. You will suffer utter defeat again, don't they get it?

Somehow, I feel like it's not a sign of good omen to encounter them now in various senses.

Yes, let's return. To our guild.

"Nothing, shall we go back?"

"? Well, okay"

I urged Lana who seems to have a question mark floating on her head at my strange behavior and returned through teleportation.

T/N : V as V for victory. As you have seen Karua's listless speech, like hnn at the beginning of every sentence etc, V is another form to shorten her words.
