After the spectacle with Hannah's alchemy (?), we were about to disband when Celestine came to Hannah for some advice."Hannah-sama, there's something I need your help with." Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ n0vᴇl(ꜰ)ire.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of nøvels early and in the highest quality.
"What is it? As long as it's something I can do."
"Your words are enough. It's about the applications of ‹Helper›. We don't have enough candidates applying, so I was thinking if Hannah-san can introduce one or two prospective candidates since you carry enough weight in the ‹Production Major›."
"Understood. I will inquire around, though I can't guarantee anyone would show up. So please don't hold high hopes, alright?"
Oh, so it was about the ‹Helper› recruitment huh. It was rare for Celestine to actually ask of her, so I guess lack of prospective candidates or enough applications had forced him to switch to scouting.
Well, Hannah was taking her classes in the school building of ‹Dungeon Production Major› and she also had lots of acquaintances there. She was indeed the best person to ask for.
And then the next day, Hannah brought along an unexpected person.
"Merina-senpai?"
"Yahoo, Zephyr-kun! Your favourite Merina-senpai is here to make her debut as ‹Helper›~!"
Merina-senpai, the facilitator of ‹Eden› and ‹Arc-Arcadia› at ‹Variety Firm›, said while greeting with a wave of hand.
Appearance wise, she was like a beautiful older sister archetype, a tiny bit smaller than Lana in stature with fluffy ash blonde hair cascading behind her back. She had a serene feature as her eyes, enveloped in soft warmth, looked into our direction.
So, Senpai was the one Hannah had in mind? Way to rock, Hannah~.
Senpai's job was ‹Secretary›, placed in top among mid-ranking jobs.
It was an excellent support job in the game which would help guilds automatically sell the selected articles when they get their own guild house after reaching C-rank. By setting the items in the ‹Item Box› to be 'for sale' individually, the mechanism would automatically take out items for sale and when the stock is dried up, it will replenish it from the ‹Item Box›.
It allowed items to be sold for a price higher than usual, but since they were sold at stores, the selling speed was slow. Well, the downside really wasn't much of a problem if there was ‹Merchant› supporting the sale. Their presence makes the product sell faster and for a higher price.
In fact, it would also provide assistance in automatic buying by selecting the item you wanted and the price you're willing to pay; it truly was an excellent job that cut short the steps one needed to go through.
In the game as well, most of the time, the ‹Helper› would either be from the ‹Merchant› category or ‹Staff› category. ‹Secretary› comes in ‹Staff› category.
Anyway, returning back to the topic, Hannah had brought not one, but two people. The second person was also from the ‹Staff› category.
"Nice to meet you! I am Satoru and my job is ‹Hard Worker›, from ‹Support Department Class 1-2›! I can't express enough gratitude to be given the chance to join in the sacred place of Hannah--sama and Lulu-san! I would make sure my trifling existence doesn't sully their honour!"
Huh...wait a minute. My brain couldn't process everything he just said.
Appearance-wise, he looked like a typical boy but the brown hair and the air around him gave him a 'gung-ho' vibe. Aside from that, I guess he was someone who was mindful of his appearance given his flat features, kind of reminds me of comedians.
And judging from the way he speaks, he seemed to be smitten with Hannah and Lulu...maybe?
Just where the heck did Hannah get acquainted with Satoru-kun? The more I thought, the more I had questions.
"After saving (?) him from goblins or wolves attack in the dungeon, he has been kind of idolising us since then."
"Hannah-sama is the god in my heart!"
"And now we have a believer?!"
No, seriously, what's going on with Hannah? It started with the '-sama' and now she officially was elevated to the status of god.
Come to think of it, She does dive into beginner dungeons alone to gather materials. I presume that's when she helped me out?
I just hope nothing goes wrong with him here, in various ways.
I quietly whispered to Celestine about him, Satoru was it, and his answer was---
"I had done my due investigation but didn't find anything concerning except the idolising aspect in the presence of Hannah-sama or Lulu-sama. Actually, everything showed he was a diligent person so I didn't see it coming."
Ohh? It was unexpected to see a hole in Celestine's investigation. In short, he was a serious fella as long as Hannah and Lulu aren't present in the same place? Hmm, but it seemed like Hannah didn't care much about it if she brought him along.
I called out Nico, the sub-guildmaster of ‹Arc-Arcadia›, just to confirm the details. According to his introduction, he was in the same class as her and Kairi. Kairi was out for her home so I had confirmed it from Nico.
"Well, Nico. Do you think he will, well, be alright for the guild?"
"Unfortunately, not even I can say anything concrete. This is honestly such an odd scene that I didn't expect coming out from him. As far as I know about him, Satoru never left a long-lasting impression but he should be a considerably serious person in his work. Hmm, I didn't expect my judgement to have a flaw."
And even by Nico's words, Satowa in his current believer like attitude was like a completely different person.
Well, at least Nico and Celestine were on the same page that he was diligent when it comes to handling tasks. So I don't have to be worried about this but...... he was a guy. I should strike the nail now than never.
"I am Zephyr, guildmaster of ‹Eden›. There's something I would like to make sure of. While ‹Eden› and ‹Arc-Arcadia› both have girls in majority and we won't find fault in getting along with them, even if you were to date, but that's on the premise that it doesn't cause trouble for others or guild. The contract would be dissolved should that happen."
"Yes, of course that's a valid concern! Even I would like to keep Hannah-sama out of trouble at all cost!"
"Huh, I am not asking you to go that far. Just be mindful of your actions, that's all."
Sheesh, that's why believers like him were tough nuts...
Even Hannah was having a troubled smile. Right, I should also tell her to be upfront if there's something he doesn't like. She wasn't the type to be vocal much in such matters.
But on the other hand, I had yet to know Satoru was someone with brimming motivation, capable of handling the majority of tasks with ease.
"I am surprised you're here, Merina-senpai. What about ‹Variety Firm›?"
"Ah, don't worry about it. They have enough manpower to operate even without me, and honestly, that was just a part-time job I had looked for during summer vacation. I heard about the remuneration from Hannah so I decided to hope."
"Oh, so that was just a part-time job. Hmm, then I guess we will have to handle the request like ‹High Mana Grass› etc from the general counter?"
"You really are slow on uptake, Zephyr-kun. I will be handling that as well. I haven't ended my membership there yet, so I am still in charge of the counter. Everything will proceed as it has been until now."
"It's truly a big help in that case,"
I see, so Senpai wouldn't usually be on the counter anymore but she would be the same exclusive facilitator for us. As expected of our senior.
"But are you sure about the contract period? I mean, if you want to keep it part-time for summer vacation..."
"No-no, it's completely all okay! The reward is nice and I should be able to keep this post till my 3rd year~. No, if job hunting goes hitchfree, I should be able to keep doing it till graduation as well~."
Oh, nice. It would be reassuring to have a capable senior joining in the rank. This also solved all the doubts I had.
In this way, ‹Eden› gained two new ‹Helper› as we continued our stride for the upcoming challenges.
