Chapter 143 of “Mastering Magic in an Otome Game Part 4 (Eildart Castle During Winter Break)”
And so, while I was turning pale with the realization of new possibilities, the carriage safely entered the Einschutt margrave territory. (***T/N: In the last chapter, Alice was freaking out about all the secrets she held which is why she is turning pale here)
The capital was said to be near the middle of the territory, but the place where we were invited to see all the ‘good things’ of the New Year was in the citadel in the town of Eildart near the border.
“Alice-sama!”
As soon as we arrived at the fortress, Laurier-sama, who was in full dere*** mode, rushed over to us and hugged me tightly. I hugged her back while melting over her loveliness. (***T/N: ‘dere’ mode is like lovedovey/cute mode)
It seems that she had been waiting in front of the castle with her guards ever since she heard the announcement of our arrival.
We celebrated the reunion, but Laurier’s body was cold.
While we were messing around with me worrying about her, a large figure emerged from the castle.
There was stern figure in a cloak along with several armored men who appeared to be guards. They exchanged formal greetings with the adults who had disembarked from the carriage.
“Everyone. Thank you for coming all the way to such a remote area.”
The one who relaxed his face with a smile was Margrave Euclid, Laurier’s father. He was much bigger and more stern than I expected.
Uncle Oedipus responded on behalf of the group.
“No, rather, I’d like to thank you for inviting us as a family. Even though it all started with the friendship between Alice and Miss Laurier, this is also a good opportunity. I hope we can talk a lot over New Year’s Eve.”
After shaking hands with uncle, who held out one hand in a firm manner, Margrave Euclid’s steward, seeing that the time was right, guided us inside the fortress, saying, “It’s cold, so let us head inside first.”
It was indeed cold in the Einschutt territory, which was located east and slightly north of the imperial capital, so I appreciated his concern.
This place, called the Eildart Frontier Castle, had the atmosphere of a medieval defense fortress.
At first glance, it looked like a huge wall that towered over a corner of the city, emphasizing simplicity, robustness, and practicality rather than decoration.
We were ushered into a large living room, where we warmed ourselves by the fireplace and repeated our small greetings to each other.
At a glance, I wondered if Brother Oluris was okay, but he managed to say hello with the support of Brother Will, even though he was twitching.
…Hmm
I had heard a little bit about this from Laurier-sama, but…
I glanced over at her.
“Hey, hey Father~ Meryl is tired. Can’t we go over there?” (***T/N: Meryl, Laurier’s sister, is talking in third person about herself. Basically, it sounds very childish)
“Can we say hello for a little while longer, Meryl?”
“No! No, no, no, my feet are tired! I’m so tired!”
“Oh, well…you can just go over there and let the maids play with you.”
“Okayyy Father <3~”
Laurier-sama’s sister Meryl…or rather, the Einschutt Margrave who spoiled her, seemed to have a big problem.

[Original Author’s Note] Finally, Laurier-sama’s family has appeared.
The elements that had to be omitted in the first volume of the story are described here. However, I decided this part would be included in this part and the next one, so there is no need for those to re-read the web version.
However, if any are interested…please read “Chapter 47: The Einschutt Household” because Laurier is very wholesome, hahaha.

T/N: I linked Chapter 47 to the original author’s note at the end of the chapter for any of those who wanted more of a refresher on Laurier’s family life! She’s definitely a wholesome character, and kind of looks like Tomoyo from Cardcaptor Sakura too, hehehe
