Looking at Secretary Shao who walked into the office, Zi Yi said to Lu Jingye, “Why do I feel that Secretary Shao is a little unhappy? Could it be that he’s been dissatisfied with you for a long time?”

Lu Jingye pressed her head with his hand and said, “He’s been urged to get married by his family recently, and they are being rather aggressive.”

Zi Yi started giggling after hearing that. She touched her chin and said, “I think that someone like Secretary Shao should already have a girlfriend.”

“He doesn’t have time.”

“Is he even busier than you?”

Lu Jingye smiled at her words. “He’s in the same situation as me. We have little rest time. However, he’s not as fortunate as I am to have a little angel running into his arms.”

Zi Yi froze for a moment before she revealed a bright smile and put her arm around his. “Mr. Lu, since you are so lucky, you should cherish this little angel properly.”

“Mhmm.”

Lu Jingye suddenly tilted his head and whispered some sweet words in her ears. Zi Yi was elated.

Both of them took the escalator down to the underground parking lot, where there was already a parked car waiting for them.

Zi Yi thought of the car she drove over. She pulled Lu Jingye and said, “The things I bought are still in my car. Let’s go and move it over.”

They made their way to her car. Zi Yi opened the door and saw the different shopping bags in the passenger seat.

Lu Jingye carried out all the bags and they headed back to the other car.

After they got in, Zi Yi put the clothes she bought for Situ Qin to one side and passed him the tie she bought for him.

It was a blue and white striped tie.

Zi Yi took it out and tried imagining him wearing it. She nodded her head in satisfaction and said, “Looks good.”

This was the first time Lu Jingye had received such a present that Zi Yi had bought for him. He was delighted deep down inside. He held her waist and gave her a kiss on the forehead as he said with a low voice, “Yiyi, I like your present very much.”

Zi Yi raised her hand and touched his chin. She said happily, “Since you love it so much, you should give me a few more kisses. Otherwise, I won’t be able to sense your appreciation.”

Lu Jingye lowered his eyes and looked at her.

Zi Yi used her finger to point at her lips. “Kiss here.”

In the next second, his lips pressed down.

Their kiss continued for some time before their lips separated.

Lu Jingye’s voice sounded even deeper than usual. “Are you satisfied?”

Zi Yi pursed her lips and said, “Well, I am reluctantly satisfied.”

Having said that, she held his neck and pulled his head down. Both of them continued kissing for some time before stopping.

When the car arrived at the residential area of the professors in M.Uni, it just so happened to be time for dinner.

There were many professors holding onto lunch boxes and preparing to head to the faculty canteen.

When the car parked next to the building where Situ Hong stayed, Zi Yi and Lu Jingye alighted and they saw Situ Hong locking the door.

Zi Yi called out to him, “Grandpa Situ.”

When Situ Hong saw them, he immediately opened the door and said with a smile, “Mr. Lu, Doctor Zi, why have you come? Quickly, come in and have a seat.”

Both of them walked over.

Lu Jingye asked, “Mr. Situ must be planning to go get dinner?”

“Yes.” Situ Hong asked them, “Mr. Lu, Doctor Zi, have you two had dinner yet? Why don’t we go to the canteen together?”

“No need. I’ve got someone to buy dinner for us.”

“In that case, hurry and come over to have a seat.”

The three of them walked into the living room of the small building. Lu Jingye put down the bags in his hand.

Situ Hong was a little surprised by that. “Mr. Lu, what is this? Why have you both brought a gift?”

“These are clothes Yiyi bought for Miss Situ.”

“Aiya, we can’t have this. How could we possibly have you spend money?”

Situ Hong hastily rejected them. “Little Qin is currently working and she can afford her own clothes. How could she let Doctor Zi buy clothes for her?”

Zi Yi said with a smile, “It doesn’t matter. I went shopping around the mall today on a whim. Thinking that Sister Qin is now working, she would definitely need some formal clothes, so I bought them for her in passing.”

“Aiya… how could we possibly accept them?”

“There’s nothing to feel bad about. Situ Feng is working for the Lu Family. You can just consider it as his welfare for the family.”

Situ Hong revealed a grateful smile and said, “In that case, thank you Mr. Lu and Doctor Zi.”

“No need for thanks.” Zi Yi then asked, “Grandpa Situ, when does Sister Qin usually come home?”

“She would often work from home and even if she goes out, she would be back at around five or six in the evening.” Situ Hong looked at the clock on the wall and said with a smile, “She should be coming back soon.”

Zi Yi nodded her head and checked his pulse first. “Grandpa Situ, your body is recovering well. You just have to maintain your current state of mind.”

“Haha, ok.”

Just then, Situ Qin’s voice could be heard from outside. “Grandfather, I’m home.”

The smile on Situ Hong’s face deepened and he answered, “Little Qin, hurry and come in. Doctor Zi and her husband are here.”

Situ Qin quickly made her way inside.

“Doctor Zi, Mr. Lu.”

Zi Yi nodded her head and pointed at the shopping bags. “Sister Qin, I bought a few sets of clothes for you. Take a look to see if they fit.”

Situ Qin hastily waved her hand. “No need, no need. I have plenty of clothes. How could I possibly get Doctor Zi to spend money?”

“Sister Qin, you can take a look first. If it doesn’t fit, we can get it refunded.”

Situ Qin certainly would not accept the clothes Zi Yi bought for her. But since Zi Yi had said so, she walked over and casually grabbed a bag, and took out the set of clothes. When she saw the clothing, she looked at Zi Yi in surprise.

“Doctor Zi, why…?”

Wasn’t this too coincidental?

“It’s not coincidental. I just so happened to encounter you today while I was shopping and felt you looked nice wearing this brand’s clothing. It accentuates your demeanor and so I bought a few sets.”

“But…” It was too expensive.

“If you find it too expensive and are unable to accept it, just consider it as money I am lending you. If you wish to start your own business here, you do need to have a few sets of clothes to wear.”

Situ Qin’s cheeks turned red and she was deeply moved by Zi Yi’s actions.

“Thank you, Doctor Zi.”

“No need for thanks.”

Lu Jingye’s bodyguard sent over the packed food and all of them gathered to have dinner. After they finished eating, Zi Yi suddenly said to Situ Qin, “Sister Qin, let’s go out for a walk.”

Situ Qin felt her heart clenching tightly. She subconsciously thought that Zi Yi wanted to talk to her about her Grandfather’s condition. When both of them made their way out, her mind was in a daze. She was afraid that her Grandfather was in a bad state.

After they walked a distance away, Situ Qin could not hold back anymore and she asked, “Doctor Zi, is it that my Grandfather…”

“It’s not. Your Grandfather has recovered well.” Zi Yi stopped walking and said, “When you were shopping for clothes today, I happened to overhear your colleague making a call outside.”

With that, she took out her phone and played the voice recording.

When Situ Qin finished listening to the recording, her expression changed greatly.

There was a mixture of anger and disbelief.

“So they are just trying to make use of me!”

Having said that, she wanted to head out right away. “I’ll go find them and clarify this issue.”

Zi Yi pulled her back and said, “There’s no need to do so. These people are not worth befriending, just don’t pay them any heed and that will be enough.”
