Chapter 39: Zhao Kai’s Decision

Chapter 39: Zhao Kai’s Decision

Some time had passed by, and with Xu Feng meticulously pretending to contact himself, the new agreement was promptly made.

Gentle Wind would increase the payment by 10,000 dollars and with each increment of 100 players she managed to recruit within 1 week of the achievement obtained, she would pay an additional 1,000 dollars.

In return, Xu Feng would join her guild, Silver Wind temporarily and give her all the credits for the achievement.

Signing the contract on behalf of his "boss", Xu Feng chuckled softly. "My boss told me to relay this: happy cooperation."

"Happy cooperation to you as well." Gentle Wind smiled, feeling like a heavy stone had lifted from her body.

The money was no problem to her. In fact, she was relatively surprised that the other party didn't care about the achievement and seemed more focused on the money.

There were times she even began to suspect the other party was a poor person, but that thought was quickly submerged.

After all, she can't fathom how a poor person could manipulate the market and create such a frenzy right at the early stages of the game. Not to mention, the production of the Fire Resistance Potions was still a mystery.

The Game Forum was practically about to be ripped apart with so many players discussing the origin of such potions.

While the two were discussing in harmony about what they would do in the dungeon, Autumn Breeze began whispering with Steelshot.

"Psst, don't you think our guild leader is acting quite weird this time?" Autumn Breeze asked. "We haven't even stepped foot in the dungeon, but the guild leader seemed so confident that we will succeed."

Steelshot nodded his head in agreement. "Agreed, so many people such as Herald Fist have failed the Easy Mode difficulty already. But we're going to be tackling the Hell Mode difficulty. I'm already betting that we will experience the death penalty already."

"Anyway, that person called himself Lin Feng, so do you have any information regarding him yet?" Autumn Breeze asked, finding the latter to be overly suspicious.

From the perspective of others, Gentle Wind was the commander or leader who would personally lead her guild members to victory, garnering all the fame and reputation whatnot.

This worked heavily in Xu Feng's favor anyway since he didn't wish to be put in the spotlight— at least not at the moment.

Gentle Wind's influence was great and her backing seemed sufficient enough to handle the pressure, but the same can't be applied to him.

'Oh Zhao Kai, hopefully, your dumb brain can finally be enlightened and join the game soon. I need some more manpower to continue my mysterious persona play.' Xu Feng prayed silently, hoping he would join soon.

With Zhao Kai on board, there were many things he could delegate to him instead, essentially working him to death.

As Xu Feng was having such malicious thoughts, back in the real world, Zhao Kai, who had left the school competition in a fit of rage suddenly felt a cold shiver.

"What the hell?" Zhao Kai swallowed a mouthful of saliva, feeling his arms that seemed to have some goosebumps.

"Who's thinking evil of me?" He murmured, finding the sudden chill to be a bit creepy.

Alas, after brooding it over and finding zero clues, he scratched his head and proceeded to touch the virtual helmet that he had recently purchased.

"It's all Feng's fault! Had he not ditched the competition completely, I wouldn't have been ridiculed and gotten angry. Now I even bought this expensive ass helmet. Ugh, my food money is gone now." Zhao Kai teared up in pain at the loss of precious money.

If only he hadn't been influenced by Xu Feng, then he wouldn't have garnered such thoughts and become so impulsive.

Too bad there was no going back since he tried to refund the virtual helmet right away but was told he was only going to receive half the money he used to purchase it.

"Tsk, I play this damn game then. I'll beat Feng up in the game since I still haven't repaid him for that slap." Fumed with rage, Zhao Kai swiftly put the virtual helmet on as he began his journey in the Divine World.
