Chapter 202: Tempest Fury

While Jeff lamented for using Dominion Rend, Carmen was confused by the ordeal.

With her lack of knowledge, it was understandable why she remained confused.

As for Xu Feng, he didn't plan on explaining further, but upon noticing Carmen's gaze at him, he adjusted his glasses in response and turned around, seemingly avoiding her eyesight.

"What's Dominion Rend and why did it change your original mindset?" Carmen asked sweetly, pretending to be unable to comprehend the signal.

"Just know that it's a skill that not just any random level 30 can have." Xu Feng briefly explained.

Although he didn't want to explain it much, he noticed Jeff perking his ears up. Therefore, he decided to reveal bits of it and warned Jeff that his secret was out of the bag already.

If he still wanted to pretend to be a pig to eat a tiger, then Xu Feng would gladly give him a piece of his mind.

Originally, he deduced the battle would be impossible to win with their current prowess, but never once did he think that Jeff was not a simple Tier 1 Mercenary.

A Tier 1 Mercenary usually meant they were under level 30 or close to it, but that was about it.

Yet based on Jeff's demonstration of the Dominion Rend skill earlier, Xu Feng was positive he was above level 30 and passed the Tier 1 test.

The Tier 1 test he referred to was not the test for mercenaries, but a tier for a user's skill.

Take a player for example. Before they reach level 25, they are referred to as Tier 0 players, meaning their attributes and skills are still limited.

Only when they reached level 25 and undertook a special test to ascend to Tier 1 could they fully proclaim themselves as a player? The difference between Tier 0 and Tier 1 was extremely high.

To simplify and clarify things, just imagine a level 100 battling a level 1.

Everyone could easily imagine who would win and unless the level 1 had some immense plot armor, it was guaranteed to lose all the time.

Meanwhile, his actions instantly attracted the attention of the Harbinger. It had begun to notice that the real problem was Xu Feng.

As a beast in its level, it would be ridiculous for it to not realize the cause of its failure was none other than Xu Feng. Not only did he summon a shadow creature, capable of hindering its mobility, but he was also the person healing Jeff and alleviating Carmen of its status ailment.

With a loud screech, the Harbinger attempted to deafen its enemy's ears as it flapped its majestic wings, creating numerous gusts of wind. A few seconds later, these gusts of wind started to resemble more and more like a tornado.

"How amusing..." Xu Feng suddenly muttered, realizing the Harbinger was using a skill called Tempest Fury. The Tempest Fury was an AOE (Area of Effect) skill, meant to disrupt and weaken the enemy's vision and reaction.

Aside from that status ailment, the Tempest Fury was also considered an offensive attack. Getting hit by it was going to be a pain in the butt.

After all, the wind pressure generated by the Tempest Fury was enough to rip and tear apart any metals. Those who are unlucky with their life might even have their armor durability dropped to zero, with the possibility of being destroyed.

As the Tempest Fury intensified, Carmen and Jeff found it difficult to maintain their foothold on the ground, with the former struggling the most.

Narrowing his eyes slightly, Xu Feng suddenly curled his lips upward.

'So be it then.' He thought to himself, opting to distance himself from the two completely without informing them.

By doing so, he completely exposed himself, playing right into the Harbinger's motive.

Sure enough, the Harbinger was exhilarated upon seeing the problematic person isolated as it intended, unaware of Xu Feng's plan.

Keeping the intensity of the Tempest Fury, the Harbinger proceeded to dove straight in, unwilling to let this golden opportunity go.

Alarmed, Jeff finally noticed Xu Feng had been distanced from his protection range.

"Not good," he muttered, trying to run toward Xu Feng and assist him, only to be suddenly hindered by the powerful gusts of wind.

It was clear that the Harbinger refused to allow anyone to stop its action.

As for Xu Feng, he quietly and patiently waited for the Harbinger to dive toward him. 'Let's see who's dying.'
