Chapter 215: Enemies Meet on a Narrow Road

The four Behemoths which should have posed some problems were easily resolved, to say the least.

With Jeff's experience, he could handle the two younglings with the help of Carmen. However, the adult Behemoths were the troublesome ones.

Hence, for Xu Feng to take on the task of delaying, even injuring, and killing one of them in the process was an unbelievable feat.

The gaze that Jeff held on Xu Feng had subsequently changed from a mixture of fear and annoyance to reverence. It was no wonder how Xu Feng could become a Baron.

'A healer can actually be this frightening.' Jeff thought to himself, feeling quite lucky to not receive much punishment for his previous deeds at the Mercenary Association.

As for Carmen, she didn't care about who got the last hit and was just glad that Xu Feng didn't die.

At the same time, she noticed a dead adult Behemoth on the far side. "How did you kill one of them all alone in a 2 vs 1 situation?"

"Didn't I say I was an expert?" Xu Feng flatly responded, unwilling to divulge the details further.

"Yes, an expert who was forced to flee earlier." Carmen teasingly said.

However, she quickly rushed toward him and smiled sweetly, "But still an expert nevertheless."

While saying so, her eyes widened in shock at his staff, which was actually damaged beyond recognition.

'So his weapon broke...' She thought to herself, finally realizing why he was forced to flee.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng noticed her change of expression and smiled bitterly.

The hammering process was effective, to say the least, but in return, his staff was effectively defective.

The durability didn't just reach 0 but at a negative value. To have it repaired would require a ton of money. Not to mention, the staff wasn't anything great either.

Of course, he still had many great staff stocked in his inventory. It was just that he had noticed Jeff and Carmen were done, so he could leave the fighting to them instead.

Speechless, Carmen could only quietly follow behind to the exit. With the Behemoths now slain, there was nothing else to do but return.

As the trio exited out of the lair and was walking, Xu Feng suddenly sensed danger. Almost instinctively, he held Carmen's arm and dragged her to his side.

BANG!

A brief second later, Carmen's original position was shot, with a bullet struck on the concrete.

"Oho, someone actually dodged your shot, Eagle Snipe."

"Tsk, she didn't dodge but got dragged away in the nick of time. Get your facts right, Hundred Ghost!"

"Haha, whatever you say."

Added to the laughter, two men emerged in the front from the corner, along with eight more behind them.

Meanwhile, Carmen's expression quickly turned fierce as she recognized the two people who were chattering.

"Eagle Snipe and Hundred Ghost..." She gnashed her teeth, and anger filled her eyes. She could never forget these two people in her life. And it wasn't because of anything good, but just for the fact that they had hunted and killed her down.

"Are these two clowns the ones that you rejected?" Xu Feng suddenly inquired, putting his hand on her shoulder and patting it softly.

Despite the questions, Xu Feng already knew the answer. It would be more precise to say that he recognized these two individuals way more than Carmen.

Hundred Ghost and Eagle Snipe were people who used to be his competitors during the time he joined the Reaver Guild in his past timeline. Not only were these two ruthless with their methods to reach the top, but they were also a bunch of unscrupulous folks.

'How hilarious to encounter them here.' He thought. People often say enemies meet on a narrow road, and they would be correct for saying so.

Although these people most likely tracked Carmen, this problem was going to be his now.

"Be careful, Feng. They are the branch of the Reaver Guild that operated on RedEagle Town." Carmen explained, once again warning Xu Feng where they originated from.
