Chapter 225: Frantic Crowd

The administrator thought someone like Xu Feng would choose a prosperous city to develop in.

After all, his progress and achievements were quite known to most of the town mayors, with many praising him for his efficiency in dealing with the insurgents.

"Yes, I'm sure about my decision, administrator." Xu Feng responded respectfully. "The city right now might not be ideal, but that is only temporary."

When he heard the city's name for the first time from Sandy, he was initially confused, but his memories in the past timeline regarding the city started to resurface.

Yes, the current state of the city was below average if one was to be honest.

However, what others didn't know was that after a certain period, or event, the city started to return to its glory. Its prosperity even soared and surpassed multiple other top-rated cities within the Aetheria Empire.

Silent for a moment, the administrator sighed and shook his head, unable to ponder over his decision.

He merely expressed his concern, but since Xu Feng was adamant about his decision, then so be it. He was an administrator and not a nanny.

"Very well, this is the pass and you can instruct the guards outside to change the teleportation for you." The administrator said, taking the city token. He then promptly returned to his documents, not even giving a glance at Xu Feng anymore.

Knowing that the administrator was done speaking, Xu Feng silently retrieved the pass and exited the office.

Shortly after exiting the office, Xu Feng handed the pass to the guards, who verified the details.

"Please follow me." One of the guards said.

Amidst the commotion in the teleportation platform, Xu Feng promptly put on his mask to avoid being identified.

"What's going on?"

"Why are they suddenly restricting the teleportation platform?"

"Wait, that's a player. Is this some sort of event?"

The nearby players were stunned when the guards restricted them from going to the teleport platform.

Elsewhere, those who finished their quests and wanted to teleport back to the town for their reward in the Adventure Association, realized they were unable to.

"This is unfair. I'm only level 7. How is this masked player level 15 already?"

"Damn, I need to inform my superiors quickly."

"Who are you?"

While some went mad, some of the clever ones began asking who Xu Feng was, even if the chance of him answering was slim. Many also refused to believe Xu Feng would announce his identity, especially when he was donning a mask to hide his appearance.

However, contrary to everyone's opinion, Xu Feng laughed heartily.

"Who am I?" He pointed at himself. "Haven't you seen the post that Hundred Ghost is ranting and going mad like some lunatic?"

THUD!

Some of the players were so shocked beyond disbelief that they accidentally dropped their weapons to the ground.

"L-Lin Feng! You're the player, Lin Feng."

No one knew who shouted that name, but as soon as they did, the crowd went nuts, especially those who were into gossip.

"Ahahahaa, Hundred Ghost is definitely feeling like he had swallowed a mouthful of maggots."

"I know right, he had to go and provoke such an expert."

"But still, the Reaver Guild is still not a simple guild that you can provoke. Isn't player Lin Feng being way too arrogant?"

"Arrogant my ass. The Reaver Guild are more arrogant and it's about time they got some karma."

Seeing the crowd divided by the discovery of his identity, with some cheering for him while some calling him arrogant, Xu Feng didn't mind their reactions.

Indeed, he was still a solo player at the end of the day in the minds of these players. Compared to a behemoth like the Reaver Guild, he was indeed going against the sky.

However, that was precisely the message that Xu Feng wanted to spread.

'This is no longer an era that powerful established guilds could dominate anymore.' Xu Feng inwardly sneered.
