While Carmen wondered if she had truly been swindled to join the Vanguard guild, she still pointed out the position for Xu Feng to inject his mana.
And no, it was not out of goodwill.
But it was because she was truly starting to feel nauseous by the lack of mana.
For some reason, she still couldn't recover her mana whatsoever, and she even sensed her condition was actually deteriorating further.
Hence, she wanted to get out of this ridiculous dimension plane as soon as possible. No matter how pretty and glamorous the scenery was, everything was bland if she was feeling unwell.
Thankfully for her, Xu Feng was a man that wasted no time. The moment he was informed of where to inject his mana, he unleashed them all.
Sure enough, the dimension plane started to crumble in the blink of an eye.
"Hold tightly to me." Xu Feng warned sternly.
As if acting on instinct, Carmen clenched tightly, wrapping her arms and legs around Xu Feng.
What Xu Feng was afraid of the most was the port sending them to different places, creating more obstacles.
Thus, the safer option was to have Carmen glued to him, so even if some cliche crap wanted to split them off, they should only dream about it.
Luckily, his strategy seemed to work wondrously as they were sucked into a seemingly dark hole.
They drifted through the space filled with nothing but darkness.
Normally, Carmen would be excited by the unexpected scenario, but right now, she was practically covering her mouth, on the verge of vomiting from the drifting motion.
"Guild Leader, can you vomit in a game?" She asked nervously.
'Shit... I'm carrying a time bomb.' Upon hearing her question, even a fool would realize what she meant.
If he wasn't knowledgeable, then he might have been happy or nonchalant.
However, that was not the case. Due to the high immersion rate, players would feel hunger, thirst... so naturally, if they felt nauseous, then they could legit vomit.
'For there to be an invisible wall, it means I need to do something first to be granted access.' Xu Feng quickly thought to himself, looking for a guide or something.
Sure enough, after retracing his steps and waiting for Carmen to finally regain her mana, another system prompt appeared.
System: Arcane Vein had been hidden since ancient times during the meteorite fall. The vast energy and environment here became the ideal birthplace of many ores. However, to possess and gain access to the vein, one needs to be capable enough to withstand the pressure. Are you willing to undergo a trial to test? You have 1 minute to decide!
Reading the prompt, Xu Feng asked, "You receive the same system prompt, right?"
Nodding, Carmen was perplexed by the prompt regarding the trial. Other than the request, there was no information on what the trial would be whatsoever.
Hell, there wasn't even a reward or failure list if they did take the trial.
"Isn't this quite lazy of the system?" Carmen questioned, wanting to click no.
"Lazy?" Xu Feng nearly laughed when he heard what she commented on the system's "supposed mysterious design" to pose a difficulty to players.
By not announcing the trial, the system wanted the players to have zero preparation. Thus, increasing the difficulty.
But in Carmen's mind, it was just laziness.
However, what surprised Xu Feng the most was the fact that Carmen clicked the "No" button, officially refusing to undergo any trial whatsoever.
"I don't care for an unknown trial, so I ain't doing it." She exclaimed.
"But weren't you seeking thrill and excitement previously?"
"That's different. I know what I was getting into back then, but this trial is unknown. I don't want to randomly die after going through so many troubles."
At this point, Xu Feng was rendered speechless by her logic. To be fair, he wanted to click no as well, but unlike her, he had a mission to undergo.
"Alright, then just wait out here." He said bitterly, choosing to accept the system trial.
System: It has been detected that there is one brave fool adventurer who dares to undergo the trial. Very well, may the brave fool succeed!
"Brave fool?" Twitching his mouth, Xu Feng was about to curse at the system, only to be shrouded in a shimmering light.
