Chapter 293 Headhunter

10 minutes had gone by since Xu Feng made a devious post to eradicate the Reaver Guild, and Carmen began to wonder if they should really allow those people into their guild.

"Guild Leader, are you really going to invite them to the guild?" Carmen asked, frowning at the idea. "These players are not reliable if they were so ready to betray their previous employers."

What Carmen meant was that recruiting these unloyal players was going to be detrimental to the guild itself. As long as the benefits were better elsewhere, they would ditch their guild without any hesitation.

Meanwhile, Xu Feng held a calm smile as he turned to her. "Do I look like a fool to put my trust in them?"

Carmen swiftly shook her head.

"If so, then you shouldn't worry much. Those who did as I mentioned in the post will be recruited, but as outer members. To simplify its meaning, they're just my cheap slave labor and nothing else." Xu Feng revealed.

He lacked manpower the most, given he was only focusing on a collective few that either had potential or someone he could trust.

If possible, Xu Feng truly wanted to hire a competent manager to handle most of the newly opened business, but Tracy had her hands full with the Vanguard Hotel.

The Vanguard Hotel was currently the most profitable business, with many customers being rich or somewhat influential NPCs.

Thus, it required Tracy's full attention to ensure everything was smooth sailing.

'Hmm, Carmen works at LTG, then does she have anyone competent?' Pondering Over it, Xu Feng turned to Carmen and asked. "Carmen, do you know any co-workers who might want to switch jobs?"

Caught off-guard, Carmen took a moment to think about his question. "Co-workers that wish to switch jobs? Are you perhaps trying to poach them?"

Nodding his head, Xu Feng didn't hide his intention. "I'm lacking manpower, but wanting to find trustworthy folks is quite difficult."

"Please don't attempt to tease or make any jokes, Guild Leader." She said sternly. "You're not good at it, and you look cringe doing it."

"..."

Wasn't that statement similar to the ones he used toward her when she attempted to mimic his actions?

"Ahem, you can do what you want for now. I'm going to resume my progression in the forging." Xu Feng faked a cough, stood up, and left the lobby.

Meanwhile, Carmen held an amused smile on her face, her eyes gazing at his disappearing back.

'What a guild leader.' She thought to herself, finding him somewhat different than the guild leader she had in mind.

Usually, they are quite domineering and frightening, but in her mind, Xu Feng was rather casual. There was no sense of superiority in his tone, but that didn't mean he was a weak-willed person either.

In fact, Carmen believed he was a slumbering tiger or dragon, ready to explode when provoked upon.

The Reaver Guild's current situation was a great example, and by now, almost every other player who didn't get trapped by Xu Feng's scheme had realized his frightening method.

'I wonder how the Reaver Guild is going to salvage this mess.' Carmen mused, opening her game forum and checking up on the latest news.

As expected, the trending news was mostly about Reaver Guild being slaughtered like some fish on the chopping board.

They were not safe anywhere, and the only escape was to log out of the game. Now, the forum was filled with players calling out the Reaver Guild a coward for not logging in to the Divine World and hiding in the real world.

Never once did she expect there to be a day when the overbearing Reaver Guild would be forced into such a dead-end— all by a single individual too.

'Did the Guild Leader have a grudge against this guild before we met?' Carmen suddenly thought.
