Jiang Yao was seated on the bed, looking through a few reports and documents he had picked up earlier from his subordinate while being out to find food.
As expected, his fourth brother was trying to turn the whole continent upside down in his attempt at locating the two of them, and the purpose of doing so was not hard to guess.
His actions had alerted even their royal father, but as Jiang Yao had expected, he showed no intention of interfering.
While he was not going to stop Jiang Yao from finding himself a little lover, he clearly disapproved of Luo Xiao. While he was talented and beautiful, he was, after all, a man, and could not bring their bloodline further.
Jiang Yao had long since known that his father was a ruthless figure. He could kill even his own sons, should the need arrive, so for him to turn the other eye on his affair with Luo Xiao was highly unlikely.
The Emperor was the strongest expert on the continent, stronger than even Jiang Yao, but that did not mean that Jiang Yao feared his father.
No matter who had the intention of harming Luo Xiao would end up in a feud with him, and he was confident that this was the actual reason for his father's attitude.
While it was uncertain who would win if it came to a battle between the Emperor and Jiang Yao, it was inevitable that both would be heavily injured, and others would make use of such a situation.
Jiang Yao could not help but sneer as he read the reports. His royal sister, who had gotten married recently, had also gone out to experience the world. Her husband was much like her, an expert who only lived for the sake of cultivating, and the two of them had managed to unlock an old legacy site. Unfortunately, they had gotten themselves locked up within the relic, and no one knew how long it would take for the two of them to emerge again.
Even so, Jiang Yao was not worried about their safety. They were both known experts, and their strength was truly domineering.
The next piece of information caught Jiang Yao by surprise. His younger brother, the ninth demon prince, had begun gathering his own forces.
He had initially been neutral and not willing to try and meddle in the tiresome court schemes, but now it seemed that he had changed his mind. Jiang Yao was not sure what could have made his stubborn younger brother change, but he did not mind it either. The more chaos that was happening within Cloudsoar City, the more peace he would have alongside Luo Xiao.
While he was deeply focused on reading these reports, he suddenly heard an alluring moan coming from the bathtub. The sound made his body freeze, but his blood began boiling.
It was not a moan of pain, but instead one of complete comfort. Such a sound was indeed enough to make Jiang Yao's mind wander, and while he had wanted to be a gentleman, he could not help but glance towards the bathtub where Luo Xiao was resting.
The beautiful emerald-colored water was wrapping itself around Luo Xiao. Still, his hair, which was usually tied into a bun on top of his head, was floating behind his back in the water like a black curtain.
Although Jiang Yao could not see anything unusual, he still felt as if his heart was being stolen the moment he laid eyes on this beautiful young man.
He fell into a trance, mesmerized by the beauty in front of him. Suddenly pride welled up inside his heart. This was his lover; this was his Xiaoxiao.
It took a long time before Jiang Yao managed to refocus on the reports in his hands, and even when he did, the figure of Luo Xiao often flashed in front of his eyes, making him feel dreamy and excited.
Neither Luo Xiao nor Jiang Yao knew how long it would take for all the medicinal properties within the water to be absorbed by the younger man. It all depended on one's body and its constitution.
The water, which had been emerald at the beginning, was slowly turning transparent, and after most of the night had passed, the water had returned to being transparent.
It had long since become cold, but Luo Xiao had not noticed the lack of heat in the water; all he had focused on was the extreme comfort in his body. It was a strange sense of liberation.
Previously, Luo Xiao had never expected that his body was weak. He had always assumed it to be as ordinary as any other soul cultivator. Still, upon sensing the changes made with a mere vial of medicine, he realized that his body had, in fact, been in a horrible condition.
It was not wholly his fault. He had been confined to a bed for so many years due to his poor health, and after he began cultivating, he focused on his mental strength, not the conditioning of his body.
It was not before now that he realized that he had to strengthen his body somewhat. If he did not do this, then he might become an easy target for others.
While he was a master at ranged attacks, anything in melee would be able to trouble him. By the time he ran out of spiritual power, even a low ranked cultivator would be able to harvest his life.
Luo Xiao was deep in thought as he rose from the water. He was so preoccupied that he did not even notice that Jiang Yao had taken a towel and wrapped it around him before carrying him to the bed.
By the time his senses returned to him, he was already lying in Jiang Yao's embrace. His head was resting on Jiang Yao's arm, and his eyes were looking straight at the sturdy chest in front of him.
