The manager hoped that the Eldest Miss of the Cao family, Cao Lanying, would not know that the Seventh Demon Prince was currently dining within his private room.
If she knew, she would rush inside, no matter what others said. She had no lower limits and acted very arrogantly without a care for other's well-being.
If she knew that he was eating alongside an unknown young man, she would undoubtedly see him as a threat, and try to kill him straight away. If she failed, she was likely to send assassins to deal with him.
Big beads of cold sweat began to drip down the back of the manager as he noticed how the Eldest Miss was moving towards him.
"I heard you have some Jade Fruit Juice today. Squeeze it and bring it to this Miss right now."
The haughty voice was full of dominance and arrogance. She did not even look at the manager, acting as if he was her family's slave.
"Eldest Miss, I am afraid that I am unable to help you." The manager was not certain if he should feel relieved that this woman was not here for Jiang Yao, or if he should begin dreading for his life as he would be unable to provide her with the drink that she wanted.
As he had expected, the moment the Eldest Miss heard his words, her expression turned foul, and she glared at him with anger. "How dare you give such luxurious goods to anyone else than this Eldest Miss?!"
Her indignant behavior made it seem as if she had booked the Jade Fruit Juice in advance, but the manager was well aware that she had not.
"Eldest Miss Cao, I do understand your frustrations over missing such a delectable drink, but we have already sold it. It is impossible to get it back, even if you wish for us to do so."
The manager was polite and humble as he displayed his regret, but deep inside he was fuming.
Did this Eldest Miss Cao truly think that she was the most noble daughter of Cloudsoar City? Had she forgotten that while her Cao family was one of the overlords, the royal family was still above them?
Even if he had been put in the spot of having to choose between this Cao Lanying and the Seventh Demon Prince, he would stand on the prince's side no matter what.
Also, the young boy whom he had brought was capable of bringing some tenderness out of this perpetually cold demon. This was something that he had never seen before, and thus he understood that while he seemed to be of a humble background, his importance was not light.
The Eldest Miss was furious and raging at the manager, but his mind kept wandering back to the scene he had just seen between Luo Xiao and Jiang Yao.
He did not even care for the woman's anger as he continued to smile at her, and patiently made a sound of agreement from time to time.
It took Cao Lanying a long time before realizing that no matter how much she was raging, the Jade Fruit Juice was not coming back, and her face turned pale in anger.
While this was the upper floor, and not as crowded as the lobby below, many of the more prominent figures within Cloudsoar City liked to frequent this restaurant. A handful of them were present to witness her embarrassing herself.
However, this was not the first time they had seen such a display from the Eldest Miss Cao. She often erupted in anger, and she did not care for her surroundings as she arrogantly scolded anyone around her.
She was used to being backed by her family and the Fourth Demon Prince, so she felt as if she could walk sideways in Cloudsoar City, and that anyone, even the royal family, ought to show her some respect.
After realizing that she could not get the Jade Fruit Juice back, her eyes glistened with maliciousness.
"Who was the one that stole my drink? Take this Miss to him right now so that I can get my revenge! Anyone who steals something that I fancy will have to pay a gruesome price!"
The manager was feeling rather annoyed. He knew that Luo Xiao would encounter danger if he met this Eldest Miss Cao, but he also knew that she was likely to tear down his restaurant if he did not show her to the room.
"Please wait here while I go and ask the customer if he is free to meet you."
The manager could not make a decision on his own, and could only shake his head, feeling unlucky.
The more knowledgeable crowd instantly understood that the guest who had ordered the Jade Fruit Wine was likely from the royal family. For the manager to be so polite and not directly bring this troublesome miss over, he had to believe that the person would have the power to overwhelm her.
Cao Lanying could not help but frown. She felt that the manager was acting in a puzzling manner. So what was the reason for him to ask for permission? Could this person be nobler than her? She refused to believe it.
The guests who exited the rooms all stayed to observe the drama unfolding in front of them. Most of them were of noble heritage, and were not suitable to cause a ruckus, but every time the Eldest Miss Cao appeared, they would enjoy watching her causing chaos.
None of them participated in the dispute, they did not side with either the Eldest Miss or the restaurant, but they still observed everything happening with excitement.
