Chapter 158 - Love To Hate

The emotions that were swirling within the young boy's heart were roaring to burst out. He wished to kill Luo Xiao for defiling his hero, but he was aware that if he attempted to do anything, then Jiang Yao was likely to end his life.

Although this young boy respected Jiang Yao, he still loved himself more. It did not take long before the feeling of admiration slowly turned to hatred. Why could the Seventh Demon Prince not see that he was amazing?

Why did this man think that he was much better than others? Even the less talented Fourth Demon Prince was able to throw his weight around.

Perhaps Jiang Yao was not so outstanding after all?

Having delivered the letter as instructed, the young man lowered his head, unwilling to let anyone witness the complicated emotions that were flaring up within him.

He felt a myriad of conflicting feelings that made it hard for him to fully reach an understanding.

He had admired the Seventh Demon Prince for years. He had wanted to become one of his followers, but from what he had seen now, he had been greatly disappointed.

Such a selfish person was not worthy of his liking! If Jiang Yao had been a good man, then he would have been polite towards any talented cultivator, and someone like himself deserved his gratitude to be accepted as a follower.

The boy was still merely a child. His mind was spurred on by the feeling of disappointment and humiliation he felt. The strong liking he previously held towards Jiang Yao reverted in such a short moment to becoming hatred.

He now hated this royal prince with even more intensity than before when he liked him.

If the Seventh Demon Prince was not willing to let him assist him, then he would personally cause his chances to inherit the throne to slip away in front of him!

The boy had rushed back to the auction house. He had initially expected the letter that was sent to be an invitation to the auction that would be held next week. Upon returning, he found that the manager was busy making all the invitations to the major factions.

This meant that the letter that had been sent out could not have been an invitation, so what had been the purpose?

Currently, the Thousand Treasure Auction House had put all their events on hold to handle this private auction that had appeared out of nowhere.

The store was still open, and one could enter to buy the less rare resources at their storefront, but everything that was meant to be auctioned was put on hold.

The letter that he had been sent to deliver was urgent, so did the Seventh Demon Prince have anything to do with this particular auction?

Narrowing his eyes, the young boy felt that it could be possible. He did not know much about the current situation in the Royal Family, but he knew that the Seventh and Fourth Demon Princes were constantly at war.

If the Fourth Demon Prince knew that this auction had ties to the Seventh Demon Prince, would he reward him?

The child was fortunate. He had grasped the sudden thought and intuition, and had already decided it to be true without actually looking for any proof. As a commoner, if he was caught lying to the Fourth Demon Prince, then the result would without a doubt be death.

However, as a child, he had not considered the consequences of his actions. He was eager for success, and his feelings were changing rapidly due to his emotions.

For the remainder of the day, the boy continued to look for traces that bound Jiang Yao to the auction, but even as the time to return home came, he found nothing.

Even so, he was still confident that there was a connection, and thus, he looked for a well-known supporter of the Fourth Demon Prince, the Cao family.

For a commoner like him, it was not possible to meet Jiang Luo as he pleased. Even the Cao family was very hard to meet, but he still wished to do his best to try it out.

The Cao family's mansion was located in an upscale part of the city. It was not easy for him to enter, as the guards here were much more stringent with controls, but after telling them that he had a purpose, and that he needed to convey a message to the Cao family, he was let through.

As he reached the gates, his eyes were full of excitement. This time he had to succeed!

"Halt!"

The guards that were standing watch outside the gate were less intimidating than those that had been present at the Seventh Demon King's palace. However, the disdain in their eyes was much more apparent.

Even so, the child was too excited and his head filled with his dream scenario that he did not notice.

"I have something important to inform your master! I have some secret knowledge of the Seventh Demon Prince, which I think can prove to be useful!"

The boy did not know how to keep a low profile, so he did not even lower his voice as he exclaimed his purpose.

The guards felt like knocking him over the head but knew that they could not.

Although the Cao family supported the Fourth Demon Prince and thus stood opposed to Jiang Yao, they could not show their hostility in public. Jiang Yao was, after all, still the Seventh Demon Prince and way above them.

Just as the guard was about to ask him to enter, a voice sounded by the side.

"What you said is true? Little boy, why don't you come to me and tell me everything you know?"

The guards looked over, only to find that Cao Lanying had appeared at the gates and heard the boy's words.
