Chapter 176 - Making Use Of The Chaos

Jiang Yao could not help but feel somewhat appreciative towards Cao Haolong when he said these words.

He understood that Cao Lanying was able to sway many of the audiences' opinions with her words, and he was not willing to have any rumors with such a woman.

If Luo Xiao was not by his side, he would happily have executed everyone until they dared not mention this matter again, but today was a special day, and covering the ground with blood would not be that beneficial for his auction.

The audience was also somewhat pacified after listening to Cao Haolong's words. Although they knew that he could, in theory, lie, they knew that it would be very detrimental for him to lie about such matters if he had truly managed to become related with the Seventh Demon Prince.

Cao Lanying was furious upon hearing her brother's words, and her eyes were red from anger. She was currently being held back by a group of experts, but her trembling body was on the verge of explosion.

Jiang Yao glanced at the woman, and his eyes turned deep as he gave a secret gesture to the guards that held her down.

Suddenly, Cao Lanying felt how her body was free, and she rushed towards Luo Xiao with brandished nails, clearly intending to harm him.

As she advanced, the crowd could not help but gasp and hold their breath as they witnessed the malicious expression on the woman's face.

However, the more intelligent ones among the audience noticed how the guards had the ability to stop the approach but did not, and a thought formed in their minds.

Just as Cao Lanying arrived at Luo Xiao's side, their guess was answered as hundreds of ice shards suddenly plunged into the woman's body, making her resemble a needle cushion.

Cao Haolong frowned slightly, but he soon loosened his brows as he accepted the outcome.

Although he viewed Cao Lanying as his family member, he was not willing to blindly approve of her behavior. He had tried to help her many times, but she kept turning a deaf ear to his good intentions, so he was not going to be a saint and try to risk himself for her sake now.

The brutality of Jiang Yao made all the citizens present feel a chill run down their spines.

They remembered how they had previously wondered whether or not this young man was truly the ruthless Seventh Demon Prince, but upon witnessing the Eldest Lady of the Cao family slowly freeze to death, they realized how stupid their assumption had been.

Although he had turned into a cute puppy in front of his lover, it did not change the fact that he was, in fact, a ferocious wolf in front of all others.

Cao Lanying was unable to complain. Her body had frozen, and even the blood that seeped out from the puncture holes had become frosted over. Her appearance was somewhat horrifying, but due to the frost, the scent of blood was not overwhelming nor gory.

Even so, Jiang Yao had no intention of keeping this lady here to cause problems, so he gestured to Cao Haolong and made him deal with it, before he grasped Luo Xiao's hand and led him into the auction house with a certain domineering attitude that made the others present sigh in admiration.

Cao Haolong gave an annoyed glance at his sister, but he still considered the family ties and made one of his guards bring her to a doctor.

Although he wished to see if there was a way to save her, he did not hold much hope. Jiang Yao had spared her time and time again, but she kept challenging his bottom line. It would be weird if she survived.

Even if she did, somehow, manage to survive, the cost would be great and the sequela would definitely not be easy to manage.

Cao Haolong spent a few moments to consider his next movements, but in the end, he still decided to continue with the auction. Although his sister's fate was questionable, he understood that this woman had only reaped what she sowed, and it was not his position to butt into their matter.

As such, he entered the auction house, in the hope that he could do something to improve Jiang Yao's impression on their family. He was, after all, connected to Cao Lanying, whether he wished to or not.

The episode did not cause any great splash, and those who had already entered did not even realize what had happened; however, there were two experts who got knowledge of the scene right away, and their reactions were very different.

The first was the Fourth Demon Prince, but unexpectedly, he did not get angry, but started smiling sinisterly instead.

He had already known that this useless woman would fail, and thus he had prepared for others to make use of the chaos she created to do certain things, which would end up causing a great disaster later today.

While he understood that this disaster might bring him a bright future, he was also very nervous as he understood the consequences if it failed.

"Calm down. We already reached an agreement, and as long as you give us what you promised, we will help you gain the throne in return."

The voice of a young woman sounded, and the Fourth Demon Prince looked towards the alluring figure that was clad in a figure-hugging red dress. She was languidly leaning on a chair, as she swirled a glass of wine in her hand.
