Chapter 119: Star, The Grand General (4)
Boom!
Still engulfed in flames, the Grand General fell to the ground.
“...!”
“...!”
“...!”
The jaw of every person watching Chang-Sun and the Grand General’s fight dropped. The three team leaders, who were still floating in the air, were especially shocked. They had witnessed Chang-Sun deactivating the Concealment Skill and sticking his sword into the Grand General’s neck at a relatively close distance. As a result, Seo Jeong-Gwon’s jaw dropped, and Park Sang-Ho’s face hardened. Putting his hands in his pockets, Yoo Hyeon-Jin quietly whistled.
Out of everyone in the area, the Winter King’s guards were shocked the most.
“Arrrgggh!”
“Grand General!!!!!”
“You bastard, I’ll kill you...!”
The Yetis tugged at their reins and glided down. Their infuriated voices were full of desires to take out Chang-Sun, who had hurt the Grand General, but...
[The Skill ‘Tiger Kill’ has been activated, raging over the enemies!]
Rumble―!
A powerful offense rushed at them from the side, disrupting their formation. The shockwave turned four Yetis into bloody pulps as they dropped to the ground. When the Winter King’s guards turned their heads to see where the attack had come from, they found Jeong-Gwon smiling hideously as he used [Tiger Kill] with more intensity than ever. “Hehe! Where do you think you’re going, you bastards?”
Sang-Ho also pointed his sword at the guards, and Hyeon-Jin prepared to activate [Tiger Disaster]. They looked like three tigers crouching down at the beginning of their hunt.
“I don’t like the current situation, though. It feels as if I left most of the work to a rookie...”
“.... We have to do what we can do right now.”
Following Jeong-Gwon, the two team leaders activated their skills as well. Since he was hoping to become the Raid Department Head, Sang-Ho’s pride was greatly hurt by the fact that he had to let a rookie deal with a boss monster. Nevertheless, he focused on fighting the Yetis before him and winning this battle.
Paah―!
Rumble! Woosh, swish―!
The fierce aerial battle resumed.
Boom!
Folding the Jigwi’s wings, Chang-Sun dropped down before the Grand General, who was using his greatsword as a cane in a desperate attempt to stand up despite his horrible wounds. Not wanting to give the Grand General the chance to regain stamina, he held [Tiamat’s Snaggletooth] in a reverse grip and stabbed it into the Grand General’s right shoulder.
“Urggh...!” The Grand General groaned.
Thud!
The Grand General fell to one knee as he coughed up blood, dying the ground red.
“I can’t... die like this...!” The Grand General shouted. The thought of standing up and killing Chang-Sun filled his mind even though Chang-Sun could easily cut off his head if he just swung [Tiamat’s Snaggletooth], which was on his shoulder. He kept on repeating how he couldn’t die like this.
The Grand General groaned. “I have to... avenge my king...!”
“Why are you so obsessed with the word ‘king’?”
“Because that’s... the only way I can become one...!” The Grand General forced himself to raise his head. His helmet had been destroyed, so nothing was obstructing his hideously-deformed eyes anymore when they shone. “When I avenge my king! When I kill the king of humans! I can finally earn the right to become a king! A king only exists to make their kind prosper! To properly lead my kind, I have to become a king!”
The Winter King died without publicly announcing an heir, so the Yetis were in imminent peril. Without the [King’s Lead], which the Yetis received from the Frost Monarch, Yetis would become lowly monsters from intelligent creatures.
The Grand General was desperately trying to stop that, which was why he had to earn his kind’s recognition and sit on the empty throne. To do so, he had to get enough achievements. Although he had certainly accomplished many feats, it was far from enough, so he thought of taking revenge for his king’s death. Just as how humans killed the Yetis’ king, he planned to kill the humans’ king and prove that he was worthy of the throne. However, he couldn’t even meet the humans’ king, let alone prove himself. The fact that he had lost was the only thing that filled his head now.
The Yetis’ future after this battle... was going to be bloody obvious. The Yetis would go extinct, and their world and the Winter Palace would be closed forever. They would be abandoned to the void of space, then forgotten. The Grand General lost all hope.
“So that was why the Winter King had said such a thing,” Chang-Sun mumbled.
The Grand General yelled, “What... are... you saying...?!”
Even at this moment, the Grand General was bleeding profusely. It wouldn’t be strange for him to die any minute. He had only been holding out because the desire to save his kind gave him supernatural resilience.
“The Winter King left a letter.” Chang-Sun dropped the Winter King’s will, which he had gotten from the annex palace, in front of the Grand General. He then drew out his sword.
With shaking hands, the Grand General picked it up. His lower lip trembled as well. “... What?”
“According to his will, he has reached the end of his journey in this world, so he has departed. He left the fate of the Yetis to you. It also mentions that he would like you to lead the Yetis however you want.”
“A-ah...!” The Grand General howled.
“I should have given this to you right away, but I couldn’t afford to.” Chang-Sun shrugged.
The Grand General stayed silent since Chang-Sun was right. The battle between the punitive force and the Winter King’s guards had passed the point where neither side could just give up even if the Grand General had become the new ‘king.’
[The Named Monster ‘Winter King’s Grand General’ has become the new boss monster in accordance with the will of the Boss Monster ‘Winter King.’]
[The Named Monster ‘Winter King’s Grand General’ has evolved to the Boss Monster ‘Frost King’!]
The Winter King gave the new king the title of Frost King, wishing he would become a great king like the Frost Monarch, the Yeti progenitor. He had written all about it in his letter.

News about the Highoff remnants being suppressed and ‘Yeti Hill’ being cleared spread quickly.
<‘Yeti Hill,’ the Sword of Ohsung Clan’s old problem, has been cleared!>
<The emergency briefing about the punitive expedition against the Highoff Clan will be held today at 9 p.m.>
<The Tyrant Lee Chang-Sun played a major role in accomplishing two achievements!>
<The witnesses are making the same testimony. “The Tyrant was great.”>
<The saturation coverage about the day!>
<The foreign media is busy trying to cover the Tyrant.>
―Charachocochan: Wow... He has done it again.
↳The tricky part is that he had really done it this time. Lolololol.
↳Lee Chang-Sun was the one who destroyed the Winter Palace and killed the Phantom Demon, right? He was also the one who killed the Grand General, which could be considered the actual boss monster.
↳It couldn’t have been a while since he Awakened... So what's up with his skills?
↳It’s dope. Totally dope.
―Sangtie: You idiots, lololol. The media has manipulated you again, hahaha. He just killed the Grand General after the volunteer Players exhausted most of the Grand General’s HP. Hahaha.
↳Hello? Have you not seen all the witnesses?
↳Are you saying all the people who were in that Dungeon were blind?
↳For fuck’s sake, he isn’t even a ranker. How in the world could he kill a boss monster that even the rankers couldn’t kill? Use your common sense for once.
↳There are precedents, you know. The White Tiger Clan leader became famous for beating up a ranker when his level was just over 40.
↳The Iron Witch also did it.
↳Huh? It’s more common than I thought.
↳There are thousands of Players in the world, so there’s no way that’s common.
―Renein: Why do the uncleared Dungeons suddenly look so easy once the Tyrant enters? It’s already the third time he has done this, right?
↳He’s in a totally different league.
―Zio: Didn’t he say he just did it in the last interview? I wonder what he’ll say this time that would make people go crazy.
↳Ah, you’re talking about the time he blew up the training institute, right? That was sick.
↳The photo was also sick.
↳My oppa is so freaking handsome in that photo. T.T
↳Gosh, a Tyrant fan has shown up.
―Reaper: Where will he blow up next? He was just like this back when he was a professional gamer. The Tyrant always leaves a trail of chaos.
↳That’s why he’s the Tyrant. His signature move is destroying everything in his way.
↳You’re right. Hahahaha.
↳He’s somewhat refreshing for that reason. Lololol, He’s wild.
The media was in an uproar for days. Many newspapers covered Chang-Sun’s performance in the current incident, and some even published featured articles about him.
The Clans abroad showed deep interest in Chang-Sun, but they never officially took any action. Now, however, they no longer stayed silent. Chang-Sun had taken out the demonic beings by himself and closed an unclosed Dungeon, so he could no longer be classified as a ‘rookie.’
<The famous Clans abroad are sending out recruiters to Korea after hearing the rumor about a supernova rookie in the country. >
<[Newsflash] The U.S. government considers offering U.S. citizenship to Lee Chang-Sun.>
<The government says, “We are currently getting to the truth of the current rumor. If the rumor is true, we will not stay silent.”>
<[Newsflash] The U.S. government announces, “The current rumor is groundless. Korea will always be our ally, so we do not wish to do a brain drain.”>
<The Illuminati has officially sent a job offer to Lee Chang-Sun.>
―PeanutCaramel: Did I read that correctly? The US showed interest in His Highness Tyrant Lee Chang-Sun. OMG.
↳No, you bastards! Was taking Do-Hwa not enough?!
↳America did say it was not true, but no one knows for sure, right?
↳Won’t doing that right now prove difficult? It was really controversial when the US took Do-Hwa. Lee Chang-Sun is certainly a promising rookie, but he isn’t a ‘Duke-Class’ or ‘King-Class’ Player, so will the US really take the risk and try to take him?
↳Even if it’s fake news, I think it proves how Chang-Sun is in a totally different league.
―Dino: I’m more amazed by the fact that the Illuminati has sent out an official recruiter. They’re really arrogant guys, so that’s really shocking if it’s true.
