Evolution Energy, a source of energy which was awakened in almost every living creature once the giant black spheres appeared. Not much was known about them to the public other than it was what fuelled their abilities.
To be able to properly control one's ability then naturally they'd need to have somewhat of an understanding of the flow of energy residing in them.
"And that ability that my mother and sister used..."
"It was the result of their hard work... For more powerful abilities they are harder to develop which is why unlike most of other humans, theirs took extra preparation rather than them simply being able to use them from the get go."
Xavier nodded, based on what he'd seen, their abilities were without a doubt powerful.
The Buff that his mother gave was one thing, but his sister's reconstruction abilities. When he first witnessed it, it made his heart skip a beat.
The potential behind it was tremendous.
"Reconstruction, the ability the disassemble and reassemble any object... She can only do objects for now but I believe she'll be able to disassemble even living organisms and all types of matter, making her strength unparalleled."
"As for your mother I'm leaning on it being a blessing ability. In just a second she managed to empower all of us who were standing in the room... An incredibly useful ability."
"But why did you help them?" Xavier asked with a smile.
"Because I'm on your side." The butler responded with a smile.
'Bullshit.' Xavier cursed inwardly.
"Alright... I suppose I owe you one then, for unlocking their potential." Muttered Xavier.
"Don't forget those words." Responded the butler with a grin.
Xavier didn't like the butler's grin, it always made him feel as if he was playing into the hands of whatever he had planned.
"But under no circumstances are you to feed them Vampire blood or turn them into a Vampire without consulting me first, is that fine?"
Every time Xavier looked at them, a feeling would rise up from within his chest, a strong urge to consume blood. It was a thirst which couldn't be parched no matter how much water he consumed.
And with [Gluttony] recently evolving it had become that much more unbearable. Xavier was barely managing to get through with his will.
While being a Vampire had it's ups, Xavier was now probably never going to see the light of day again. But it was fine, it was something he sacrificed in order to save them.
If he could go back to the past and change it, he wouldn't change a thing.
But as for them, the last thing he wanted was for them to live bounded by these shitty constraints.
"Moving on, what did you want to talk about?" Asked Xavier.
"...Do you know why I brought them to train down here? Or why I told them to always stick close to Anastasia?"
Xavier's expression grew serious as he fixed up his sitting posture.
"Let me guess, the Vampires in this house are after them."
A nervous smile appeared on the butler's face.
"I wouldn't say it's that bad... The news of what happened has already spread through the Vampire world, even with the war ongoing... The servants here blame you for the trouble this will cause them and the entire family."
"So?" Xavier asked as he waited for the point.
"So, have shown some hostility... They are probably plotting something."
Xavier placed his hand beneath his chin.
"Has my sister and mother said anything yet?" Xavier asked
The butler shook his head.
"It appears they don't wish to bother you."
"Is that so..." Xavier muttered as he hung his head.
The butler adjusted his glasses, a surprised expression loomed over his face. Xavier seemed strangely calm despite what he'd heard. He'd expected Xavier to go rushing out of the room in search of the Vampires who posed a threat.
"Is something wrong?" Xavier asked as he looked at the butler. "You seem confused."
"Do I...?" The butler questioned as he adjusted his glasses. "I guess it's because of your reaction... I thought you'd me more up-"
The rest of the butler's words left his mouth when Xavier raised his head. A shadow had loomed over his face, his eyes were glowing red as he overflowed with bloodlust.
"Hey... You know I'm going to kill them, right?" Xavier asked with cold eyes as he glanced towards the butler.
"Just make sure you have the proof to back it. Not every servant is involved." Responded the butler with a grin.
Xavier got up, he walked over to the metal knife that Viera had [Constructed.] before kicking it up to the air and grabbing.
[You have equipped a metal knife.]
Xavier got into a random stance and placed the knife in a dagger grip whilst pointing it's blade towards the butler.
"Since you trained the others, why don't we do a bit of training ourselves?" Xavier asked. "We didn't finish our fight, did we?"
[Gluttony Level 2: Berserk]
[Rewind Level 2: Retract.]
[Hyper-Regeneration Level 1: Regenerate.]
Both abilities were just aching to be used, and Xavier wanted to train and evolve them as soon as possible.
The room was big and spacious enough, there was nothing else to be doing. Sangrea was still asleep, so he might as well break a sweat.
With the grin still present on his face, the butler got up and drew his rapier.
"Before we start... Tell me one final thing. How were you able to absorb the Marquess's attack? Even if he is still young and unable to control his powers unlike his father... In those conditions, blocking that attack was almost impossible."
"Who knows... But in the moment, I just simply thought of myself devouring the attack and it worked."
Confusion expressed itself on the butler's face. "You devoured it?"
The grin instantly returned to the butlers face after the confusion faded. It was wider than ever.
'I thought I just imagining things... But with the way things have been, I'm convinced.'
'Xavier is the devourer... The wielder of one of the seven deadly sins. The sin of Gluttony.'
