When Bluesea heard this, his breathing stagnated. He raised his head to look at the door of the room and couldn't help but pursed his lips.
Chu Liang had finally decided to tell Chu Yuexi everything.
The tiny youth was traumatized, so he sat in the empty room in silence for a long time. Finally, he staggered towards Chu Liang's room, dragging his tired body along.
Chu Liang was still analyzing the case when he heard the door open slightly, but he didn't turn his head around.
Chu Yuexi slowly walked in, took off her shoes, climbed onto the bed and laid on it without moving.
Chu Liang turned his head to glance at him, but upon thinking that Chu Yuanyuan hadn't eaten anything yet, he stood up and left the room.
After a while, Chu Liang came back from outside. He placed the warm bottle into Chu Yuexi's arms and gently said, "Baby, drink some milk."
Chu Yuexi lifted her eyelids and gave Chu Liang a glance, before extending her arms to hug him. She began to sob softly, "Mummy, have mercy on me for not knowing how hard you had been working in the past. It's because I'm not sensible."
Chu Liang lightly patted Chu Yuexi's back. His gaze couldn't help but drift towards the window as he said in a gentle and uncertain voice, "The days of pain that I experienced were already a little blurry."
In the past, Chu Liang would have nightmares because of those days, but as time passed, the number of dreams became fewer and fewer.
It's true.
Chu Liang laid down beside Chu Yuexi. Seeing him drink his milk with his eyes closed, he couldn't help but recall the call he had made in the afternoon.
Now, Chu Liang only hoped that Fu Jinchen wouldn't come to take away her only son, and that he wouldn't disturb her any longer.
Chu Liang lightly patted Chu Yuexi's back and watched her slowly fall asleep. From his hand, he gently took out the bottle and placed it on the cabinet.
The night passed peacefully. When Chu Liang woke up in the morning, he discovered that Chu Yuexi was still sleeping. Just as he lifted his blanket and was about to get out of bed, a soft hand grabbed onto the corner of her clothes.
Chu Liang tilted his head to take a look, but Chu Yuexi's eyes did not open. Her voice was weak, "Mommy, where are you going?"
Chu Liang rubbed Chu Yuexi's head and softly said, "Mommy got up and went for her morning practice."
"I want to go too." Chu Yuexi sat up in bed, causing Chu Liang to be a bit surprised: "Pity?"
Chu Yuexi blinked her eyes and seriously looked at Chu Liang, saying with a firm voice: "Cherish becoming stronger, only then will you be able to protect Mommy!"
Chu Liang's eyes became moist for a moment because of Chu Yuexi's words. She turned her head around and coughed. Raising her head, she attempted to pour back her tears.
He was actually touched by his son early in the morning.
"You're still young, so early training is a burden for you." Chu Liang rubbed Chu Yuexi's little head, "You can learn more from Uncle Lanze and also protect Mommy from another point of view."
Chu Yuexi wrinkled her small eyebrows, clearly unhappy. Chu Liang smiled, "Don't worry about protecting Mommy, Mommy knows. However, Mommy isn't something an ordinary person can beat, don't worry."
Chu Liang did his best to comfort Chu Yuexi, who muddle-headedly nodded her head. Finally, under Chu Liang's persuasion, she lay back down on the blanket.
Chu Liang put on his sportswear and walked out of the room. Breathing in the fresh air, he felt like a dried up blade of grass, reviving him instantly.
"Let's start training." Chu Liang made a simple stretching motion and then ran around the district.
Today was no different from usual. When Chu Liang drove to the hospital, he saw Xia Jingyang standing at the door.
"Morning." Xia Jingyang smiled and waved at Chu Liang. Chu Liang smiled, opened the car door and got out, then walked towards Xia Jingyang.
"Why is Dr. Xia here so early?" Chu Liang asked doubtfully as he returned the car keys back to Xia Jingyang, "Thank you for yesterday's matter."
Xia Jingyang lightly smiled, "If you are this polite to me, I will think you are not my friend."
Chu Liang pursed his lips, not saying anything.
Xia Jingyang passed the other cup of coffee to Chu Liang, who was stunned for a moment before nodding his head: "Thank you."
Xia Jingyang tilted his head and looked at Chu Liang, explaining: "I often drink coffee in the morning in order to keep up my spirits. Thinking of how you didn't sleep well because of pity, I also brought you a cup."
Chu Liang felt the warm coffee in his hand and felt a tinge of warmth in his heart, "Thank you."
Xia Jingyang smiled as he walked in front and went around the hospital's door. Chu Liang followed him into the hospital.
The receptionist nodded in succession and greeted Xia Jingyang and Chu Liang. Chu Liang also smiled and waved: "Good morning."
Xia Jingyang looked at Chu Liang's smile and was stunned for a few seconds. After feeling Chu Liang's questioning gaze, he immediately retracted his gaze, "You are really quite different from before."
"Is that so?" Chu Liang took a sip of his coffee, the corners of his mouth curving upwards.
"In the past, when you didn't talk or laugh, you always gave people a sense of distance. But now …"
Xia Jingyang paused as he spoke, he turned his head to look at Chu Liang and said, "You seem to like smiling, but also a bit more feminine."
Chu Liang raised his eyebrows and joked, "Then I'll treat this as a compliment."
Xia Jingyang was startled. After realizing that this was a joke from Chu Liang, he also smiled, "Okay."
Without realizing it, Xia Jingyang followed Chu Liang to the psychology department's floor.
Chu Liang raised his head and pointed, "Isn't your office on the 20th floor? But you followed me to the 27th floor."
Xia Jingyang coughed to hide his embarrassment. If he had said it was because of Chu Liang, Chu Liang might have mocked him.
"I want to see you go in." Xia Jingyang revealed a gentleman's smile, "Since you've arrived, I'll be going back now."
Chu Liang nodded his head and waved at Xia Jingyang, "Take care."
Xia Jingyang turned around and was about to leave when he suddenly thought of something and turned back, "That's right."
Chu Liang looked at him suspiciously. He thought for a moment before continuing, "When will we be having our meal?"
Chu Liang recalled that he had promised Xia Jingyang that he would eat together with her yesterday, but instead, he encountered an incident.
"I'm so sorry." Chu Liang apologized and said in a low voice, "Let me treat you to this meal. Tonight, no matter what reason we have, we won't miss it."
Xia Jingyang had originally planned to ask Chu Liang out, but after seeing the guilty look on her face, he finally compromised.
"Alright, then I'll come and find you after work tonight."
Chu Liang waved goodbye to Xia Jingyang before returning to his office to prepare.
She could actually feel Xia Jingyang's favorable impression of her. From then until now, it seemed that his opinion of her hadn't changed.
However, Chu Liang felt that it would be unfair to whoever he was with right now.
