After Kaizen and Jayaa parted ways, Psyker followed the realtor back to the real estate office, where he signed the contract to buy the property in the business district. He was in a great mood for having managed to bargain quite a bit with a little help from the demon.
Three hundred gold coins was still a lot of money, more than thirty times the amount Kaizen had spent buying his current armor to be specific, but he was satisfied with this, because unlike when one buys armor and a weapon, he would not be changing houses from time to time.
For the real estate company, it was also a very good thing to finally get rid of the bureaucratic and tax costs of the haunted house.
When Kaizen left the real estate office with a smile on his face and the contract for the property in hand, he thought about what he would do next. He could barely contain his anxiety to get back to forging, so he returned to the business district and began visiting various stores. For the next hour, he took advantage of the trade not sleeping in the Royal City and bought many tools he thought he needed, ores to have something to forge with, furniture for his new house, as well as a lot of food, because now he had a place to store it. On top of all this, he bought a safe so that he could store his money much more safely than leaving it in the false bottom of a drawer.
[His current weight is: 682 pounds].
[Carrying too much stuff in your inventory causes the Slowness effect to be applied to you. Consider decreasing the weight of your load to suit your current strength].
Being a little heavy was nothing to Kaizen, who had worked in various construction camps during his teenage years to help with expenses at home. He knew that he could go back to his house and leave everything he bought there, however, he was with the idea of using this great weight to test a theory, and the time to test this theory would be when he went to farm with Jayaa.
Anyway, it was not yet time to go find the bard, because Kaizen wanted to buy some weapon and armor diagrams to try forging.
However, just as Kaizen was about to head for the nearest blacksmith shop, among the crowd of people filling the brightly lit street he was on, he saw a green-haired man. In profile, this man looked very much like Klank, the mysterious person with whom he negotiated the purchase of the goblins in the Valley of the Goblins.
"So he really is from that town..." Kaizen thought and headed in the boy's direction.
When the Psyker got close enough and was about to say hello, he noticed that Klank was not alone, he was talking to someone next to him as he walked, at which point the crowd dispersed enough for Kaizen to see that the person he was talking to was a handsome boy with brown hair, thin features and a charming smile. Klank didn't look like he was being threatened or anything, but he was clearly nervous, for his smile was weak and his eyes were lost, not sure where he should look.
Kaizen recognized this boy next to Klank, after all he never forgot a face.
'This is the guy who was with the redheaded archer in the Howling Draughts. Why is he hanging out with Klank?'
Although Psyker didn't care one bit about Klank's business dealings, he was also curious about this relationship between the two. He remembered also seeing Klank in the Howling Designers and believed that it was probably Klank who explained his name to the Taznaar gang, but deep down he longed to make at least one more drop sale for Klank before walking away if necessary, so he kept close while following Klank and Dathan.
The two men continued talking for several minutes until they finally stopped in front of a narrow alley. After a few more words were exchanged, Dathan entered the alley and disappeared into the darkness, and Klank breathed a sigh of relief.
Just then, Kaizen leisurely approached Klank, who heard the sound of metal boots just before he saw them enter his field of vision as he looked down at the ground.
"Eae!" greeted the Psyker with an offhand manner.
As he heard the voice and raised his head to know who it was, Klank's heart soared with fear. As soon as his eyes met Kaizen's, he took a few steps back with such fearfulness that he only stopped when his back was against the wall.
"You came after me? I'm sorry, I swear I didn't mean to do that! Please forgive me!"
"What are you talking about, man? I came to do business with you."
"N-business?"
"Yes. Don't you remember that you gave me your address and that you said you were always willing to buy drops from me? I know that was all before that, but I have some things for you."
Klank's body expression changed from fear to relief in moments. "Arf... So, you're not mad at me?"
"About you yelling my name that echoed throughout the Howling Designers? I might be, but be cool with it. I have bigger problems to deal with than you do. I mean, at least as long as we're doing secure transactions."
"Yes! I want to continue trading with you... forgive me for that!" Klank said as he bowed his head a little. "When they interrogated me, I tried not to say anything, but the Taznaar duo and the Bloody Lily are ruthless. Somehow, I managed to convince them that you were already wearing a mask when I made the goblin transaction with you, so at least about your face they know nothing."
"Bleeding Lily? That name is familiar to me." Kaizen commented as he placed his hand on his chin reflexively.
"It would be strange if I didn't know about it. She is very famous, both in and out of the game. They say that in the future she will be a professional player of the highest level. Many professional players have focused only on evolving, but she is one of the only beta-testers who has not yet become an Evolved. You need to be careful with her."
"So, the thing is, being careful is not always my strong suit. If she has a problem with me, I know that at some point or another we will face each other. When it will happen I don't know, but I guarantee she won't be victorious."
Kaizen's confidence was something admirable to Klank, who was not even able to doubt the strength of this mysterious guy, for he managed to solar a Mythic Boss and even put the famous Viking Leohorn to leave the arena with his tail between his legs like a scared dog.
Rubbing his hands together, Kaizen inquired to Klank:
"So, shall we get down to business?"
"Yes!"
