Before leaving the room to greet the members of the Metal Dragons who had rescued him after he fainted, Kaizen decided to see if everything was normal after all the errors that had appeared on his screen. So he raised his right index finger and pressed the air to open the system.
Fortunately, the system appeared smoothly and showed him a few options, such as opening the Skill Tree, Settings, Map, Inventory, Statistics screen, and others, only Kaizen had a vivid memory of a few seconds before he fainted. He vividly recalled that among the many notifications that came his way in that moment of agony, one of the first to appear was a notification about unlocking a new skill. As such, the first thing he tested when he opened the system was to click on Skills, a section that displayed all the skills he had.
[Skills:
<Analyzer Eye>
<Smith's Will>
<Sword Art>
<Deep Cut>
<Death Touch>
<Writer>
<Giant's Lungs>
<Free Flame Manipulation>
<Advanced Healing>
<Psychokinesis>].
Kaizen's eyes slid to the bottom of the skill bar, finding it strange that the class skill <Telekinesis> had disappeared, and only when he read the name of the last skill did he understand what had happened. It wasn't an illusion what happened, the skill <Telekinesis> was the skill that evolved the moment he attacked the guards, that's why this whole situation happened.
"Probably the evolution was abrupt for the system itself, because the skill evolved while I was using it." Kaizen thought aloud. "So several errors happened one after the other because the game was also trying to calibrate and resolve the situation without probably disconnecting me or hurting my brain. I guess in the end I was lucky that Korgrak helped me."
Kaizen thought about this a bit, and a few seconds later he looked at his new skill on the list again.
"If this skill I got is a direct evolution of <Telekinesis>, what exactly does it do?" Kaizen wondered and clicked on the skill.
[Class Skill: <Psychokinesis> (Already acquired).
A Psyker's natural talents go far beyond what ordinary people can experience. To deal with the supernatural world, you need a power to match, and Psychokinesis is that power.
This ability gives you the power to influence any material thing with your own mind, and only your imagination can limit this ability as far as it can go.
(You are not allowed to spend any class points on this ability, this ability cannot be evolved)].
Kaizen read the description of the new skill carefully and was impressed by the possibilities it offered. If he was right, his skill range would have an even bigger jump than when he got <Skill Apograph>. He had never heard of Psychokinesis before, but it seemed like an incredibly powerful ability if the only thing limiting it was his imagination. Kaizen didn't even feel frustrated when he realized that the ability couldn't be upgraded, because that was good news since it was so difficult to get class points, so it didn't dampen his excitement.
Still, Kaizen knew that he couldn't test this skill just yet. He had other things to worry about. He took a deep breath and got out of bed, stretching his arms and legs to make sure he felt good. Then he looked at himself in the mirror and noticed that he was still wearing the clothes he was wearing when he passed out.
Kaizen decided to put on a different outfit before he left because it was full of blood. He looked at himself again in the mirror and felt that he didn't look so pathetic this time. Then Kaizen opened the bedroom door and went out into the hallway, where he found some of the Metal Dragons who had rescued him. They were talking among themselves, but stopped when Kaizen appeared.
"Hello, Kaizen," Anfrid said. "We're glad to see you feeling better."
"Thank you," Kaizen replied. "I'm sorry for the trouble I caused you."
"Don't worry about it," Jeewok said, coming closer and giving Kaizen a friendly pat on the back. "Helping each other is what we do here. Besides, if it hadn't been for you, we'd probably all have gotten hurt a little. We were surrounded."
Kaizen thanked them again and talked to the Metal Dragons for a few minutes. They were friendly and kind people, except when they started to ask what had happened, Kaizen said he didn't want to talk about it because even he didn't really understand what had happened. And just as Kaizen was about to say goodbye to everyone and leave, the mysterious man appeared in the main hall, accompanied by Korgrak.
Strangely enough, this man looked at Kaizen with wide eyes and a unique glow, as if he saw someone very important.
Korgrak looked at Kaizen and said:
"It is good news that you are well, but before you leave, this man would like to speak with you."
Kaizen frowned. "What do you want?" he asked the man who took a few steps forward.
"You know what you are, don't you?" the man asked, opening his arms.
"What I am, what kind of question is that?"
The mysterious man smiled enigmatically. "You are special, Kaizen. Your talent for evolution is something I have never seen before. And the moment you evolved in front of me, you became even more unique."
Kaizen didn't know what to think. He didn't think he was different from other players, he just tried harder than most and had better logical thinking, but he never imagined that anyone but himself would notice.
"What do you mean by 'unique'?" asked Kaizen, a bit suspicious.
The mysterious man took a step closer to Kaizen. "Believe me when I say that there are many people with special abilities in this world, but there are few people who are unique. There is no one like you, and there probably never will be."
Kaizen was shocked.
The mysterious man smiled. "You put yourself in front of the people you thought you had to protect, and you gave it your all. You are practically a hero!"
Kaizen thought for a moment. Why is this man saying these things and what is the reason for that strange smile on his face? From the first moment Kaizen saw that smile, Kaizen did not feel confident, on the contrary, he felt threatened. Yes, this guy is very dangerous in their presence, Psyker's instincts warn him.
This time it was Kaizen who smiled, and he approached the man, who made an expression of animation mixed with his bizarre smile. He thought Kaizen would thank him for the compliment, but Kaizen didn't even think about that possibility. For starters, Kaizen sensed no sincerity in the hooded man's words, as if he was just trying to flatter him or get in the psyker's good graces.
So when Kaizen stopped in front of the hooded man, Kaizen didn't say anything, he just turned his fake smile into his villainous grin with a murderous look in his eyes and threw a right punch with all the force he had.
