The fencing department building was a two-story construction made mostly of stone and wood, which gave it a sense of Eastern tradition and solidity. In addition, the building was in the middle of one of the campus parks, standing out from the other department buildings.
The facade was decorated with symbols and carvings that represented the art of fencing, highlighting the importance of this place to the practitioners.
Upon entering, they were greeted by a large foyer, lit by large windows that let in natural light. The room was decorated with framed photographs and paintings of famous fencers hanging on the cream-colored walls. A red carpet stretched across the floor, giving the room a sense of elegance.
To the left of the main lobby was a reception desk where a friendly girl was ready to help and provide information to visitors. Next to the reception desk, a display case displayed glittering trophies and medals won by the department's students prior to the Special Program. It was a demonstration of the talent and success of the fencers that participated in this department.
In the center of the lobby was a large, open space with a specialized floor for training. It was covered with a polished wooden surface, designed to provide grip for the fencers during fast movements. Surrounding this space were various fencing equipment, such as swords of different types, protective masks and vests, as well as wooden figures.
Climbing a well-crafted wooden staircase, Klaus and Andrew reached the second floor. There were the more specific training rooms, where the students were dedicated to improving their skills. Each room was equipped with different types of equipment, some with bars that came down from the ceiling to simulate surprise encounters, others with apparatus for normal physical strengthening exercises.
The fencing department was a place dedicated to the improvement and passion for the art of fencing. Its well-structured and organized building conveyed an atmosphere of discipline, respect, and the pursuit of excellence. Klaus felt inspired, and as soon as he and Andrew approached one of the rooms on the second floor, they could see Lucas, the leader of the department, the appointed captain.
Lucas was a man in his twenties, had short blond hair, blue eyes, and was tall. In addition, he had an erect and elegant posture. He was training in a hologram room, which was similar to the archery department's shooting stand, but which was also very different, because his holograms were much more detailed.
Klaus didn't want to get in the way, so he asked the girl at the reception desk right away not to warn Lucas of their presence, because they preferred to observe first, and that's exactly what he did.
Klaus and Andrew's eyes remained fixed on Lucas as he prepared for the duel with the holograms. Tension was in the air as Lucas raised his wooden sword, ready for combat. With a graceful movement, Lucas stepped forward. His nimble, precise feet accompanied each step, creating a solid base for his attacks. He began with a series of quick, fluid movements, slicing the air with his sword, only the hologram against him was also skilled and managed to block.
Lucas was not discouraged and advanced once more. His attacks were a perfect combination of technique and agility. He delivered quick and precise blows, alternating between jabs and slashes, keeping his hologram opponent constantly on the defensive. Each movement was executed with incomparable grace, showing years of dedicated training.
Lucas glided through space, deftly avoiding his opponent's counterattacks. His body seemed to move in perfect harmony with his sword, as if they were a single entity. He spun, jumped, and spun again, defying gravity with his impressive agility.
As the combat continued, Lucas demonstrated his mastery of advanced techniques. He executed sudden stops followed by quick counterattacks, and skillfully dodged each of the ambushes his enemy prepared.
Lucas' concentrated expression was a picture of the dedication and focus required to achieve such skill. His eyes remained fixed on the hologram, calculating every move and anticipating attacks. He displayed an unwavering confidence in his abilities, conveying an air of complete mastery over the fight.
Each of Lucas' blows was executed with impressive elegance. He drew invisible lines in the air with his sword, creating a perfectly choreographed dance of attacks and defenses. His movements flowed continuously and precisely, as if he were performing a moving work of art.
The audience, consisting only of Klaus and Andrew, was enthralled by Lucas' display of skill. Each movement was one of the passions he had for the art of fencing.
After a series of quick, coordinated movements, Lucas executed a final blow. With a precise stab, he disarmed the hologram enemy and, in one fluid motion, lowered his sword, aiming for the enemy's neck and ending the fight.
A victory warning appeared in the air, as in a video game, and Lucas took a deep breath because of exhaustion. He reached over to the door to grab his towel to dry the sweat from his face and saw Klaus and Andrew.
The two boys from the archery department still tried to disguise it by looking away, but it was useless.
"Were you guys watching me this whole time?" Lucas inquired as he left the room.
"The whole time? No, of course not. Only the last five minutes." Andrew said.
"Hey, why didn't you just say we just got here?" Klaus nudged him.
"Because he had already seen us." Andrew stated, then turned to Lucas and inquired, "You had already seen us, hadn't you?"
"Actually, no."
"Oops."
Klaus was the one who took a deep breath this time. He stepped forward and extended his hand to greet Lucas. "Nice to meet you, my name is Klaus Park. Andrew said you came to the dorm yesterday to talk to me."
Lucas returned the handshake, only he had a confused expression on his face. "Klaus Park? Oh, I get it...you're not using your nickname."
