Chapter 840: Joint Training (Part 3)

Klaus held the arrow deftly, feeling the tension of the moment pulsing through his veins. He looked at Maethe with determination in his eyes, conveying confidence and a plan in his mind.

"We can't let this opportunity pass us by. If we can take Edward's flag, it will give us a significant advantage in the game. Trust me, Maethe," said Klaus, his voice calm but full of conviction.

Maethe looked at Klaus for a moment, assessing the situation with caution. She knew Klaus wasn't impulsive, and her trust in him was strong. With a slight nod, she agreed, trusting in Klaus' ability to lead this risky venture.

Klaus pulled the bowstring tight, adjusting the arrow on the string while keeping his eyes fixed on the movement of Edward and his opponent. He calculated the trajectory, taking into account the speed and direction of the runners. It was a difficult shot, but Klaus was determined to get it right.

Meanwhile, Maethe remained alert, observing her surroundings in search of possible ambushes. She knew that Edward's presence signaled the proximity of her team, and they needed to act quickly and precisely.

Edward and his opponent were running through the trees, dodging natural obstacles with impressive agility. Klaus waited for the right moment, his mind focused and his senses sharp. When Edward caught up with the boy who had taken the flag and they began to fight over it, Klaus realized that this was the opportunity he had been waiting for, so he released the arrow.

The arrow sliced through the air with speed, aiming straight for Edward's hand, who finally managed to retrieve the flag after pulling it too hard from his opponent's hand. The moment seemed to stretch out as Maethe and Klaus watched the arrow fly, and then, with a surprising impact, the arrow hit its target.

A cry of surprise echoed through the forest as Edward dropped the flag, his hand struck by the rubber-tipped arrow. Edward's opponent, although confused by what had happened, suddenly saw another opportunity to grab the flag and run for the safety of his base.

Klaus and Maethe acted quickly. While Klaus reloaded his bow, Maethe ran towards the fallen flag. She knew that every second counted and her determination drove her forward.

As the boy picked up the flag, an arrow struck him in the chest, momentarily eliminating him, then he threw the flag to the ground in anger and Edward mocked him.

That moment gave Maethe the opportunity to get to Klaus' side, the flag firmly in her hands.

They prepared for the final clash, and the last remaining member of Edward's team was probably the most problematic, because although they didn't know who it was exactly, this person belonged to the fencing department and had a sword, meaning there was no way a runner, like Maethe, and an archer, like Klaus, could fight a sword at close range.

The best thing to do now was to run as far as possible so that they could reach either a clearing or their own flag, where they would be supported by Lucas, the group's fencer, so that they could face another fencer head-on. This wasn't the bravest tactic, but it was the safest and most efficient.

Before doing so, Klaus and Maethe looked at each other and agreed on this plan. Then they started running as fast as they could in the direction they believed their flag to be.

A few moments later, the fencer from Edward's group realized what had happened and started running after them too. However, Maethe and Klaus were so fast that it became impossible for the boy to keep up, especially as he was carrying a scabbard and sword, so he gave up trying to catch up.
