Chapter 18: Harbringer

Name:Sanctuary: Safe Haven Author:

Harbinger, a legendary figure from ancient stories, renowned across realms as the bringer of unparalleled destruction. Beyond mortal comprehension, this mysterious entity's mere presence heralds imminent catastrophe. Feared and respected alike, Harbingers possesses powers surpassing any living creature, capable of reshaping reality with explosive force.

Tales speak of their awakening in dire times, when chaos looms over the world, designating them as both catalysts and embodiment of ultimate devastation.

Having studied Tonitrum's regimen and observed Canna's training, Mortem concluded. Although Canna hadn't yet realized it, Mortem could discern the signs. His daily routine, which involved slaying monsters, had conditioned his mind to view death as a natural phase and killing as common as breathing.

Tonitrum initially sneered at the undead, considering them mere entertainment. At first, he viewed Canna as a pet, much like how Canna would treat a dog. However, something shifted. He noticed a change in Canna's eyes each day, witnessing his gradual transformation into a skilled killer. During their encounter with the Thornstrider, Tonitrum saw it clearly—sparks of lightning.

Among the advanced elements, only time, space, light, darkness, and lightning proved the most challenging to control.

However, within just a few months, Canna managed to summon lightning, albeit accidentally. His training in water and wind spells was intended to prepare his body and mana for the eventual mastery of lightning. For Tonitrum, summoning lightning was not expected yet for several years.

So what's the connection with all of this about a Harbringer? Simple. According to legends, Harbingers have great affinities for elements that have pure destruction like fire, darkness, lightning and void.

Even though Canna only summoned it by mere accident, Tonitrum still took it to count since it showed early potential on casting lightning spells; another thing he considered was the fact that Canna took killing as a 'daily schedule', if it were a normal being there should still be a bit of psychological effect even a little but Canna showed nothing.

He looked at Mortem and spoke through telepathy, "Fu*k off," before going back to nap; in his head, plans started to conjure, he knew that Canna's soul was different, but he didn't expect it to be that different from the rest of the beings that came from different world as well.

At present, he was pondering how to create the most thrilling entertainment possible, unaware that the "entertainment" he was casually devising would become a formidable monster once unleashed outside the dungeon.

Usually, Canna would proceed with a mana application lesson with Mortem after waking up, but today, he decided to change his schedule.

Standing before the colossal 50-meter dragon head, he found himself in the company of Mortem, who cast a simple light spell to illuminate the dim surroundings.

He remembered a passage from the codex warning of dragons as embodiments of destruction and that one should flee as fast as possible at a sighting of one.

Based on the codex, there were only a handful of people who were able to get in touch with a dragon, and even then, no detailed reports were made, like how they take care of their scales, do they suffer from inherent health issues, is there any alternate diet rather than meat?
