Tonitrum summoned a red portal and looked at Canna again.
"I'll open another portal back if you survive. Since this is your first war, I'll send you to a battlefield with at least 10,000 souls. A war between goblins and kobolds. Do your best not to die."
Canna looked at the red portal in front of him, took deep breaths, and closed his eyes. The sooner he did this, the sooner it would be done. He gripped his scythe tightly and, with another sigh, opened his eyes and slowly made his way into the portal.
Once inside, he expected to hear the sounds of war, but instead, all he heard was the rush of air. That's when he noticed it.
"THISSSS AGAAAINNN??" Canna screamed at the top of his lungs.
Right now, Canna was falling 20,000 feet in the air. Anyone would be shocked. After five seconds when the shock passed, he could see down below two forces that were about to collide. He instantly sent a telepathic message to his subordinates.
"I can see them. Let's proceed with the plan. Both of you start making your way to the kobolds and I'll handle the goblins."
Canna's plan was simple: since Mortem and Vorgrim were stupidly strong, he planned to send them both to hunt the kobold leader and its forces.
After hearing two assuring answers, Canna used the Rejuvenating Lightning spell to coat himself with lightning. He needed all the stamina and mana he could get, not to mention lightning was the best element now since it could do a lot of AOE damage.
Canna looked at the distance and saw greenery for the first time again. He could also see the sun and felt that it was probably afternoon since the temperature was warm. This was, after all, the first time that Canna was outside the dungeon.
Unfortunately, he wasn't able to take in all the sights. In a matter of seconds, he was about to land. The forces below had already started to clash. Canna saw his opportunity and readied his spell.
The war between goblins and kobolds was in full swing. The reason for the war was territory; goblins reproduced quite easily, therefore they needed space for their ever-growing group.
"You think you can best me, human?" Krelb snarled, lunging forward with both swords.
Canna sidestepped the attack, his scythe crackling with energy. "I don't think—I know."
With a swift, decisive strike, he brought the scythe down on Krelb's shoulder, cleaving through armor and flesh. Krelb let out a guttural scream, his body convulsing as the lightning coursed through him. Canna yanked the scythe free, and the goblin leader fell to the ground, lifeless.
On the kobolds' side, Korgroc watched as his elite team was torn apart by Mortem and Vorgrim. His instincts screamed at him to take action, but he knew he needed to be smart. He barked orders to his remaining warriors, forming a defensive line.
"Hold the line! Protect your leader!" Korgroc bellowed, gripping his massive axe.
Mortem, sensing the leader's presence, turned his attention to Korgroc. He raised his staff, and the ground beneath the kobolds erupted, skeletal warriors clawing their way to the surface. The kobolds fought valiantly, but they were no match for the relentless undead.
Vorgrim, covered in blood and gore, let out a primal roar and charged at Korgroc. The kobold champion met him with a snarl, their weapons clashing in a violent display of strength and skill. Vorgrim swung his sword with brutal force, but Korgroc was quick, dodging and countering with precision strikes.
"You are strong, kobold," Vorgrim growled, his eyes gleaming with a savage light. "But I am stronger."
He slammed his shoulder into Korgroc, knocking him off balance. Before the kobold could recover, Vorgrim's sword cleaved through his side, spilling blood onto the battlefield. Korgroc roared in pain but did not fall. Instead, he swung his axe with all his might, aiming for Vorgrim's head.
Vorgrim ducked, the axe whistling past his ear. He countered with a swift upward slash, catching Korgroc under the chin. The kobold's head snapped back, and he staggered, dropping his weapon. Vorgrim did not hesitate. He drove his sword through Korgroc's chest, pinning him to the ground.
Korgroc's eyes widened in shock and pain. "This... cannot be..."
"It is," Vorgrim replied coldly, twisting the blade. Korgroc's body went limp, and Vorgrim yanked the sword free, letting out a triumphant roar.
The battlefield was a scene of chaos and carnage. Bodies of goblins and kobolds littered the ground, the air thick with the stench of blood and death but it all wasn't over yet.
