Chapter 1167: Witch Gully (1)
When she was done laughing, Puffer suddenly said, "Very good, I admire this kind of determination. It was with the same kind of determination that I ran away from home and became a witch all those years ago."
The way that she said this seemed like she was going to...
"I'll teach you magic, so you'll be my disciple from this day forward." Puffer said in a serious voice, but that was soon ruined by what she said under her breath, "I'll be the only one that has taken a princess as a disciple before, right? I'll be able to brag about this to the others."
I really felt like I should say something, but the way that things developed had completely caught me off guard that I really didn't know what to say.
Before I could say anything when I came back to my senses, Ariel suddenly said, "I don't want to be your disciple."
"Huh?" Both Puffer and I looked at her with looks of shock once more.
The things that she did completely went against the script...
It really was hard to keep up with exactly what Ariel wanted with the way that she kept changing things up.
Puffer looked at Ariel for a bit as if she was trying to figure out if she was being serious or not.
Seeing that Ariel wasn't planning on taking her words back, Puffer said with a sigh, "If you're not going to become my disciple, then there's no reason for me to teach you about our magic. Rather, teaching you if you don't become my disciple is dangerous, there's no telling what you'll do, so it's not something that I can do."
This was expected since there was nothing that was free in this world, but it didn't seem like Ariel was going to accept what Puffer said.
"I never said that I wanted to learn your magic, I just want to learn about your magic. That's two completely different things." She said this as if it was a natural thing.
We looked at Ariel with strange looks, but we had to admit that she was right.
The way that she had said it was as if she wanted to learn magic from Puffer, but that wasn't the case. There was a different way to interpret the words that she said, which was that she just wanted information about the kind of magic the sea witches could use.
Even in the game, this tunnel didn't exist.
However, that was more because of quick travel in the game where the player character would directly be teleported to where the sea witches were after making contact with them here.
So this tunnel was never seen in the game or explained.
As for Ariel, she was surprised by just how big the operation of the sea witches was in the capital of the Merman Empire.
After leading us for a bit, we reached the end of the tunnel.
The end of the tunnel led to a large gate that was sealed shut.
This was a strange looking gate, or rather it was better to say that the wall that the gate was put in was quite strange. That was because this was a wall that almost seemed like it was
made of flesh.
That was because it was one.
This wall was made from the flesh of the whale that the capital city was inside of.
That meant that this gate was actually a gate that led out of the capital city.
I already knew that we would be leaving the capital, which was why this was easy for me to piece together.
However, when Ariel pieced it together, she deeply knitted her brows since she never expected this kind of secret entrance to the capital to exist.
After some time, Ariel asked, "Where are we going?"
Puffer looked back at her and said with a smile, "Witch Gully."
