Chapter 1178: Reunion (2)
Once the Merman King appeared, he immediately became the center of attention.
It seemed like he was releasing his full pressure to show off his majesty as the king of the Merman Empire.
It was just that it didn't really work against Ariel or the former crown prince.
Both of them had different expressions when they looked at him.
The former crown prince had a look that was a mixture of pride and fear.
Ariel had a look on her face that seemed like she was tired of seeing the Merman King like this.
She even took it a step further by saying with a snort, "Why are you acting like this? Do you really think that anyone will be fooled if you act like this?"
A trace of bitterness appeared on the Merman King's lips, but he held himself back from saying anything to her.
Instead, it was the Merman Queen who came forward to pull Ariel to the side.
The way that this was set up, it seemed that it was between the Merman King and the former crown prince. It seemed like it was some kind of confrontation between these two brothers.
Zyra and Puffer looked like they were about to step forward to help him, but the former crown prince raised his hand to stop them without even turning away from the Merman King.
The two of them just silently looked at each other in a tense manner.
It was as if they were about to start fighting with each other at any moment, it was just that the match hadn't been lit to light the fuse yet.
One could almost smell the scent of gunpowder in the air from how tense this situation was.
With another awkward cough, I said, "Let's talk this through."
The Merman King once again turned to look at me with the same look that he looked at Zyra and Dicus with, but he eventually nodded in agreement.
The former crown prince looked at me with a strange look, but I just pointed at the button that I was holding in my hand. I had this button out the whole time just in case anything happened and it seemed that the Merman King had noticed this.
This button was a relic from Aquaron, so he had to at least listen to me if I was talking with it in my hand.
Though I could tell that it wasn't just because of this that he decided to listen to me.
I knew that there was a part of him that actually wanted to listen and talk things through, it was just that he was embarrassed. At the same time, he had to think of his position as the king of the Merman Empire.
So he couldn't accept that easily.
It was only when the other side was a god that he had to listen.
Once everyone calmed down, the royal guards actually brought out a table and some chairs that they placed at the bottom of the sea.
This was an impromptu place for a meeting, but it didn't seem to matter to everyone here.
The Merman King wasn't willing to let the former crown prince into the capital of the Merman Empire that he abandoned. At the same time, it didn't seem like Zyra and Puffer were willing to go in now that the Merman King was here.
They were afraid that they might be trapped if they actually entered the capital.
So there was a place that was made at the bottom of the sea for them to talk.
Of course, there was an awkward silence as everyone sat at the table.
Since I felt that it was my fault that this happened, I stood up to say, "Let's talk about..."
