Chapter 196 195: Aftermath

An explosion of a cataclysmic level shook the entire Amphitheater and before Corey or any other ignorant and unsuspecting person could respond, a violent hot storm of wind blew at the entire audience, and a good percentage of the audience flew from their seats and a few screams, shouts and curses resounded throughout the stadium.

Corey placed his hands in front of his face as the violent hot storm of wind blew heavily at his face for at least five seconds. After the violent hot storm of wind reduced in its intensity, Corey lowered his hands with a deep frown on his face as a loud ringing noise resounded in his ears and mind.

He placed his hands on his ears in attempt to reduce the annoying noise in his ears, but as he raised his arms, he noticed something.

His gaze landed on his arms which now had first degree burns with a tinge of mystic energy in it. Corey frowned as he felt the unfamiliar yet familiar energy encroaching into the deeper parts of his skin with ill intent.

A few thoughts ran through his mind, and although if possible, he wanted to see if he could study the mystic energy, he knew now was not the time nor the place to do such.

A slightly regretful expression appeared on his face for an instant before he released a soft exhale. And in the next moment, Corey decided to release his own mana out of his arms to combat the mystic mana on his arms, and although the mystic energy was of a higher quality and level than normal mana, the minute quantity of the mystic mana had no chance of survival against the large quantities of normal mana.

Seeing that the mystic energy was nullified, Corey exhaled once again, though this time, it was an exhale of relief.

He lifted up his head then his gaze moved to his surroundings first, and when he noticed how some people had disoriented expressions and confused expressions as they gazed either at their bodies or their surroundings.

Corey's gaze then moved to the battlefield, and the first thing he noticed was the presence of a translucent barrier that blocked and reduced the damage and chaos of the Undead giant's explosion.

As Corey gazed at the barrier, he raised his brows as a few questions popped into his head but he decided to keep them in his mind for now.

Hid gaze then moved to the actual battlefield, and although he was ready to see the battlefield scorched and destroyed due to the Undead giant's explosion, what he saw still surprised him to an extent.

The battlefield just like he expected, was scorched, charred and destroyed, there were multiple cracks on the ground, fumes that contained mystic corpse poison, and charred and destroyed body parts of both the undead and the androids littered the battlefield.

Corey's gaze first wandered to the location of the three giants, and in that location, he could see numerous broken and separated body parts of the mecha giants. Their independent body parts the size of duplex houses or at least, the size of an elephant.

'What of X and the other guy?'

Corey had this thought as he tried to locate the two kings but despite checking the battlefield, he found none of them and his brows furrowed slightly.

Just as Corey was wondering if both X and Automaton had died as a result of the explosion… which would be purely and absolutely absurd, especially for X, considering the fact that the undead giant was his, Corey felt a tap on his shoulder.

He looked to his side, then he saw Divine gesturing upwards.

"They're there kid."

Divine spoke with a strange glint in his eyes, which was not perceived by Corey.

Corey squinted his eyes as he looked at the location of Divine's gesture and just as Divine said, he saw both X and Automaton floating high up in the air.

'Great. Even these two can fly.'

? ? ?, ? ? ? ? ?

Corey's lips twitched, then he looked at Divine, and Divine perceiving his gaze looked back at him with raised brows.

"What?"

"Can you fly?"

A strange expression appeared on Divine' face as soon as be heard Corey's question.

"Of course I can fly. Everybody knows I can fly. Why are you asking?"

Divine asked and Corey's lips had an involuntary minute twitch when he heard Divine's words.

"What of the group? Who else can fly in the group?"

Corey asked and Divine raised his brows as he looked at Corey from up to down, wondering whether Corey was developing a mental problem.

"Uhm… Everybody in the group can fly… Once again, why are you asking?"

Divine asked as he noticed the visible twitch in Corey' lips. A confused expression appeared on his face as he just could not figure out why Corey was asking him these questions.

Meanwhile Corey,

'Just great. I guess I'm the only one that can't fly now.'

'Wasn't flying for humans meant to be a difficult or extremely rare feat? Why is that everybody around me, whether friend or enemy knows how to fly?'

Corey released a frustrated sigh as he turned away from Divine and decided not to give a reply to Divine's question.

'I'm definitely getting a flight skill. This sort of oppression can't continue.'I think you should take a look at

(Meanwhile on the battlefield)

"You're a crazy bastard. You know that right?"

Automaton spoke with a frown as he gazed at the cataclysmic destruction beneath him.

Although he already knew of the ability of the undead giant to explode like a bomb, he was still extremely shocked by the power behind the explosion.

His gaze shifted from the destruction of the battlefield to the translucent barrier around him which had numerous cracks around it.

'There were rumors that The King of the Dead had the capability to fight against a low level Mystic Being, but I never believed in those rumors.'

'A human can never bridge the gap between an Astral Being and a Mystic Being. Our bodies limit us severely which is why I decided to change my body.'

'But if the reason The King of the Dead was said to have the capabilities to combat a low level Mystic Being is because of his subordinate and its ability to explode with Mystic Energy… then I guess it's much more understandable.'

'We're both tier 3s and if I, who has surpassed the physical limits of a human cannot defeat a low level Mystic Being, I don't believe The King of the Dead who is obviously still a human can defeat a Mystic Being by himself.'

'Besides-'

Numerous thoughts went through the mind of Automaton at an extremely fast speed, and just as he was about to continue with his train of thoughts, a nonchalant voice reached his ears.

"Arise."

Automaton glanced at Triple X who had his palms facing downwards with a nonchalant expression. Automaton then looked at the battlefield below and a frown crept up on his face as he saw a large black smoke covering the entire battlefield.

"I guess this is why everybody calls you the King of the Dead. The Leader of the Undying Army."

Automaton spoke with a nonchalant tone as he gazed at the smoke free battlefield. His eyes observed the trembling bones and body parts which eventually moved, joining to different other bones and body parts.

A few seconds later, numerous corpses and bones stood. Countless grunts, roars and screeches resounded in the Amphitheater as the undead army arose once again.

ROOAAARRR!!!!

An extremely loud roar resounded in the Amphitheater and Automaton frowned slightly. His gaze moved towards the source of the roar, and unsurprisingly, he saw the undead giant in his extremely black full body armor. Its gaze full of animosity as it stared at the King of Androids.

'So the giant is no longer at the strength of a low level Mystic Being.'

Automaton thought then a smile formed on his lips as he moved his gaze toward the nonchalant Triple X.

"Don't think you're the only one that can revive an army King of the Dead. I'm not called The King of Androids for no reason."

"Androids! Assemble!"

Automaton shouted and Triple X's brows twitched in annoyance.

A few seconds later, noises from the battlefield below flowed into his ears, and he looked down.

A frown formed on his face as he noticed the broken parts of the androids and mecha below, joining back with various other body parts.

"Don't think you've won King of the Dead. I'll win no matter what."

Triple X raised his head up then he released a tired sigh. He slowly lowered his body to the ground with his hands in his pockets, causing a frown to appear on the face of Automaton.

Triple X landed on the ground softly and with a calm and nonchalant expression, he removed his hands from his pocket.

"You called me a crazy bastard, but you do know you're a talkative bastard. Right?"

Triple X spoke as he placed one knee on the ground. He then placed his right hand on the ground and without looking at Automaton, he spoke:

"You're also a very noisy person and I hate noisy people."

Automaton's squinted his eyes as a confused and curious light appeared in his eyes.

'What is he doing?'

Automaton wondered and just as numerous thoughts were about to pop into his head, Triple X's nonchalant tone flowed into his ears.

"Hand of Death."
