Chapter 322 321: I'd Have It No Other Way
Corey had learnt a few things from Chucky, the spirit of the Perceptual Nexus Repository. One of them was about the uses of the stars in the Perceptual Nexus Repository.
The stars had other uses asides from being used as clones in the virtual reality room and as energy sources for the entire Perceptual Nexus Repository.
One of them was that the stars could help Corey multitask.
Before his baptism under the Eye of God, Corey was always able to perform two or more tasks at the same time with his mind.
Corey was obviously not the only person to be able to multitask with his or her mind. It was in fact, a very common feat as one's intelligence stat increased.
But, even though beings with a high intelligence stat could multitask, there was usually a strain on the mind of the individual.
The mental strain was dependent on the number of tasks issued to the mind, type of the tasks issued to the mind and the intelligence stat of the individual.
Corey previously experienced this discomfort whenever he multitasked on more than ten things.
But now...
Corey experienced no such thing.
The stars in the Perceptual Nexus Repository were like Corey's mind and Corey could use them to analyze and think on certain problems or thoughts of his.
Corey called them The Stars of Consciousness.
Corey had so many stars and this meant Corey could use that many stars to act as his mind and think on whatever thought that came to his mind.
Imagine being able to have thousands of thoughts simultaneously and independently at the same time. It was an ability that could even rival the mental capability of immortals, gods, and demons alike.
Corey was already using some stars to ponder on certain issues, concerns and thoughts he had. And one of the issues was related to his Ears of Omniscience.
Corey had to use a whole five stars to receive, process and filter out the information he was getting from his Ears of Omniscience at every second.
One would think that the information he would get just from being able to hear almost everything would be small and somewhat insignificant.
But, it was a lot.
A freaking lot.
Corey thought, then he twisted his neck with a smile.
"It's been a while since I fought using my abilities. Don't be like the other weakling please."
Corey said, then two black battle axes appeared in his hand.
"Also... I think your blood would surely make my axes advance."
These were the last words Dante heard before the fog completely covered a white eyed Corey.
Dante tried to locate Corey but he could not no matter how hard he tried. The fog was so dense to the point that it limited Dante's vision to only a meter ahead.
Dante exhaled softly, then his eyes changed.
His bright red pupils were no longer circular but was now in a sword shape. The shape was extremely similar to the sword in his hand which released a slight vibration.
'Don't think the fog can hide you from me.'
The instant Dante had this thought, he looked to his left and right, but he saw nothing. The sword released a vibration and without wasting a single second, he fluidly moved his sword to his back.
Clang!
A sound of metal hitting metal reverberated in the surroundings and a surprised sound escaped Corey's lips.
"What a smart sword you have there. Now I really want it."
Corey nonchalantly said, then he quickly jumped backwards.
Slash!
The wind whistled as a red sword cut through Corey's previous position.
Dante tightened his grip on the sword, changed his stance, and with a cold tone, he said:
"Over my dead body."
Corey raised his brows and chuckled.
"I'd have it no other way."
Corey said, then he ran towards Dante with a wide smile.
