Chapter 337 336: Luck?
?"Wha- What the bloody hell?"
Corey's voice contained extreme confusion and also a tinge of anxiety as he struggled to keep his internal injuries from worsening.
He inhaled and exhaled with difficulty, and then he looked around.
He could feel countless gazes on him, and in those gazes was Shock.
Corey did not understand why the people looking at him were filled with shock, nor did he understand why the teleportation skill failed and caused him so many injuries.
The gears in his mind spun, and he recalled every single thing that happened to him after he used the skill, Teleportation.
'Normally, it always feels like I'm moving through a liquid medium when I teleport.'
Corey thought, then he looked at the Ember Elder, who had deeply furrowed brows.
'But when I tried to teleport, it was like I was moving through a thick slab of concrete which was filled with countless sharp objects.'
Corey furrowed his brows in thought, and then he stood with his legs trembling slightly, once again stunning the people watching him.
'The space here is more difficult to move through. Was it tampered with?'
[Your guess is right.]
Corey's expression changed slightly when Nina's voice echoed in his mind.
He never expected her to speak to him.
'Can you explain?' Corey asked
[There's a formation here that prevents teleportation or abilities that use spatial energy.]
[If one tries to forcefully use a spatial skill or teleport, they face what you face or even worse.]
[In fact, you should not have been able to teleport at all. The void force in your body was what made you able to teleport successfully.]
An expression of realization appeared on Corey's face when he heard the words of Nina. Along with the expression of realization came the urge to slap himself.
His mind never thought of the idea that space could be affected and spatial abilities like Teleportation would not work.
If there was no countermeasure for spatial abilities, Corey was sure there would be thefts and intrusion by people with spatial abilities.
Whoosh!
The Ember Elder spoke with a cold tone, and then he released a fraction of his aura, and the air got distorted.
Corey's instincts screamed at him as he felt the aura of the Ember Elder.
He had a feeling that whatever was coming for him could not be avoided, no matter what. Corey's eyes became cold, and his posture changed.
Snap!
Just as Corey was about to use his Eyes of Omniscience and Focus, a snap resounded in his ears. And like the flame of a matchstick getting blown out by a small wind. The unfurled aura of the Ember Elder was put out.
The atmosphere changed, and Corey could swear that a person with hearing issues would be able to hear the drop of a needle in such an atmosphere.
"You're an interesting one kid."
A voice sounded out from behind Corey, and his pupils dilated to the extreme. He jumped to his left the instant the voice said the first word.
'AGAIN!!"
As Corey stood in a defensive stance, he screamed with extreme frustration internally.
This was the second time somebody would sneak up behind him, and he would fail to notice. His senses were beyond what most tier 4s were capable of.
His hearing ability was so absurd to the point that if Corey wanted, he could choose to hear the conversations of every individual in the Underworld.
Though, the price he would pay would not be small at all.
'The passive state of the Ears of Omniscience cannot hear the movements of tier 5s and above. I need to do something about that.'
Corey thought with a deep frown as he looked at the newcomer, the owner of the voice.
Standing at an average height, his presence radiated a subtle, ethereal energy that captivated Corey and the onlookers.
His hair, a cascade of midnight blue, seemed to possess an otherworldly luster. Framing a face adorned with sharp yet graceful features, his deep blue eyes seemed to contain the seas and ocean of worlds in them.
He was dressed in a blue and white white suit, with his every movement carrying an air of fluid grace. His skin, though seemingly ordinary at a glance, bore a faint, ephemeral glow, hinting at the extraordinary energies coursing through his veins.
As Corey observed the man, he chuckled with unveiled frustration in his tone.
A fucking tier 6.'
Corey did not need to use Record to know that the new man was not a tier 5 but a tier 6. He knew that only a tier 6 could possess such a presence since he had met and talked with the Manager of the Underworld on multiple occasions.
'Just how many bloody tier 6s does the Underworld have?'
