Chapter 81 Fruitful Hunting

As Jett and Freya continued through the dungeon, they diligently collected drops from the defeated monsters.

The dimly lit surroundings were illuminated by the occasional glow from mana stones, casting eerie shadows that danced across the walls.

Freya marveled at Jett's skill. "So your skill can also siphon the energy from your target? That's actually really cool," she remarked, her curiosity piqued.

"Yeah, I guess." Jett smirked, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. 'I'll just keep grinding that skill.'

As they delved deeper into the dungeon, Freya asked, "So, hunting monsters or praying, which is really better for me?"

"Both have their merits," Jett replied. "In your case, hunting dark attribute monsters is more effective. It amplifies the amount of experience you gain. Praying, on the other hand, helps train your mana faster than anything else you can do."

Freya nodded, taking in the information. "I picked this area because the dungeons around here only spawn dark attribute monsters," Jett continued. "It's perfect for what we need."

Their conversation was interrupted as more monsters began to appear. The eerie silence of the dungeon was shattered by the sounds of skittering and growling as new threats emerged from the shadows.

Jett quickly activated his [MP Burst] skill, which increased Freya's total MP and MP regeneration. "Here, this should help," he said, a hint of encouragement in his voice.

Freya noticed the sudden surge in her mana and smiled, feeling the boost. "Someone else other than me using a buff skill on the priestess," she teased.

As she prepared to step forward, eager to engage the monsters with her newfound power, Jett reached out and gently held her hand. "What are you doing?" Freya asked, trying to pull her hand back.

"Hold on, it'll only take a sec," Jett said, not looking at her directly as he whispered "Forced Contract"

Freya glanced at Jett with curiosity, her initial surprise giving way to a mix of anticipation and confusion.

After Jett finished adjusting the contract, he let go of Freya's hand. "All done, show them hell," he smirked, his eyes gleaming with a hint of mischief. 'And farm some EXP for me while you're at it.' he thought.

With a burst of newfound energy, Freya stepped forward. She moved with purpose, unleashing a series of powerful attacks.

Each strike seemed to cut through the darkness effortlessly as she dominated the monsters that came her way. The once-menacing creatures fell one by one, unable to withstand the sheer force of her light-infused assaults. Jett watched from a safe distance, impressed by her display of

After about an hour of relentless combat, they reached the boss room.

"Alright, let's go in," Jett said as he walked past Freya, his confidence unwavering.

Freya looked at him with a mix of exhaustion and curiosity. "No resting this time?"

"Yeah, just use your [Divine Insight] and finish this quickly. We'll do this two more times," Jett smirked, clearly enjoying the process.

Jett, lost in thought, 'I wonder if she's trying to spy on me or maybe it's just Freya.' As he kept walking, he activated [Tactical Mirage], creating an illusion to obscure their departure from the dungeon.

"This distance should be far enough," Gwendolyn thought as she observed Jett and Freya emerging from the dungeon. "How long were they even inside?"

Gwendolyn watched the illusion that Jett had created. In it, Jett appeared to be limping and leaning on Freya, who was helping him out of the dungeon.

"I guess she was trying to help him level up, but he must have gotten too injured and exhausted to continue," she mused, analyzing the situation. "Interesting. All the Divine Lords treat him well even when he doesn't have much talent. I could use that."

Rey's agitation simmered beneath his confident exterior. The fact that someone among his peers had managed to surpass him, even indirectly, gnawed at him.

It wasn't just the lost rank; it was the sting of being momentarily overshadowed. Despite his efforts and skills, someone else had taken the top spot, and that rank had been stolen from him. The challenge of regaining it had become a point of personal pride.

Rosa and Aiden were not in favor of Rey's plan. They expressed their concerns about challenging someone of higher rank, but Rey remained resolute.

His strategy was simple: if he could defeat someone of a higher rank, it would prove his superiority and force the other to concede, thereby demonstrating his strength.

"Now what?" Cedric asked, his tone laced with curiosity.

"What? Now we wait. You'll see, she'll give up soon. Jett was probably bluffing," Rey replied with a confident smirk. He was sure of his victory and the subsequent return to his top rank.

"You might actually find out soon enough," Rosa said, her voice tinged with apprehension. 'Just pray you don't regret this later.'

"Yeah, remember she can openly challenge you, and you're bound to accept now," Aiden added, trying to reinforce the potential consequences.

"It would be nice if she could beat some sense into you," Asher said with a smirk, clearly enjoying Rey's discomfort.

"It'll be fine, right Elora?" Rey said, turning to her for support.

Elora, however, shrugged nonchalantly and walked past him. "Please leave me out of this. I'm not going to feed your non-existent ego."

Moments later, the atmosphere shifted as five elven girls approached Rey and the others. The girl at the center stood out distinctly. Her beauty was so striking that Rey couldn't help but stare. She moved with an elegance that seemed almost otherworldly, and her presence commanded attention.

The central girl, radiant and poised, stepped forward and addressed Rey directly. "Prince Rey Aurora?"

Rey, trying to maintain his composure and charm, responded with the most charismatic voice he could muster. "Yes, that would be me." Explore more at m,v l'e-NovelFire

"I challenge you to a duel," she declared, her voice steady and firm.

The challenge was made, and Rey's eyes widened slightly as he realized who she was.

"So you're the one who tried to steal first place from me," Rey said, a mixture of surprise and realization in his voice.
