Chapter 78: Section 78 - Who is the Evil Dragon

Name:Sky-cracking Rider Author:

As soon as he entered the gates of the Aircrew Base, Chen Fei let go.

The mission for the day had been completed, and he could justifiably claim his bonus.

And, he had to get paid extra!

Seeing the female Metallic Dragon approaching him while swinging the leash, Clodia, the Psychic Illusion Dragon, suddenly sniffed the air and asked in confusion, "You smell like fish, Yilan, what were you up to?"

Metallic Dragons were supposed to strike with an air of menace and then return covered in the scent of blood, weren't they?

Something about this picture wasn't right!

"Evil Dragon capturing students!"

Yilan shook her draconic form, causing her sharp Blade Thorns to fully retract, and she resumed her original menacing appearance.

"You're capturing students?"

Clodia looked around, wondering where one could find students amidst these desolate mountains and ridges.

Only when she expanded her spiritual power to its limits did she "see" a group of human children walking slowly in a single-file line along a mountain path, with a place resembling a school in the distance.

Patan Elementary School, the closest to the 911 Aircrew Base in the mountainous area, was just on the edge of her range of spiritual power coverage.

"Not me, him!"

The female Metallic Dragon looked toward Chen Fei, not too far away.

"Ah?!"

Illusion Dragon Clodia felt like something was amiss.

Who exactly was the Evil Dragon?

"I protected the school children, he pretended to be the Evil Dragon," Yilan explained a bit more, seeing that Auntie Clodia, no, Elder Sister Clodia was still puzzled.

Anyway, she had quite a playful time until the sun was low in the sky, and Chen Fei had to drag her back, or else she would have continued playing until dawn the next day.

The group of school children also frolicked madly, nearly forgetting the time. But once their excitement wore off, they became so exhausted they started panting and dragged their feet all the way back to school, lacking the high spirits they had on the way there. If it hadn't been for Teacher Shen Fei's urging all the way, they might have collapsed on the road, refusing to budge.

Clodia looked at Yilan: "..."

You're the Evil Dragon, hey!!!

Where's your self-awareness?

Equally exhausted, Chen Fei headed toward the base cafeteria, the two grilled fish he had for lunch had long been digested, and he had to have a big meal tonight no matter what.

Chekhov Big Bear glanced around and quickly followed in a few hurried strides, almost toppling Chen Fei over.

"Hey, how did you manage that?"

The fact that Chen Fei had the Metallic Dragon so obediently under control was truly incredible.

Not just Chekhov wanted to ask this, but he was the most eager.

After taking a hot shower back at the dorm, Chen Fei, with Little Bird, who was already fast asleep in its cozy nest, headed to the shack where the Target Low Temperature Nuclear Fusion Energy Tower was located, to continue his night duty.

He also brought along a few dishes to snack on, planning to mooch a few drinks from the old man – a delightful indulgence!

"Old Master Barut... Eh, Manager Hanna, what are you doing here?"

The door to the steel-structured shack was never locked; a light push and it opened readily. But upon entering, Chen Fei saw not only the old Neanderthal man there, but the new female executive manager was present too.

It seemed they were both waiting for him.

Aircrew Base was a closed base with few outsiders coming and going. Other than when Chen Fei and the old Neanderthal man alternated on guard duty, hardly anyone else came to the Energy Tower.

If there were visitors, they were mostly the after-sale service personnel from the Energy Tower manufacturer coming for annual inspections, which happened at most twice a year. For the most part, the computer system monitored itself with automated reports, and high automation replaced human operation.

With the current electricity consumption rate of the Aircrew Base, it was feared that it would take ten years to replenish the fuel for the fusion reaction plugins. The lifespan of the Energy Tower was much longer than that; the Energy Tower with the longest operating life from the Third Era Civilization had been running without faults for 300 years.

"You've arrived just in time; we were just talking about you."

Hanna Gagar eyed Chen Fei up and down with her one eye, making him feel uneasy.

What on earth did this woman want?

Chen Fei carefully ventured, "Is, is there something you need? Manager Hanna."

"Your special ability has awakened, and it cannot continue to go to waste. Only I can teach you how to control your special ability here at the Aircrew Base."

Executive Manager Hanna Gagar rose gracefully from her seat. As a Wind-type supernatural power user, although not of the Metallic series, she still had the qualifications to guide Chen Fei into the doorway of the supernatural power community.

"Wait a minute! I, he..."

Chen Fei wasn't ready at all, neither mentally nor physically.

He looked puzzledly at Old Master Barut, the old Neanderthal man who was still kind of training him. Now with another ability to deal with, where would he find the time!

Even a work team's donkey couldn't be treated this harshly!

"I'm okay with it, as long as it doesn't interfere. Come on, squat down."

Barut waved his hand and casually took the food box from Chen Fei's hands, placing it on the table and opening the lid - he immediately beamed with joy.

Pig's ears, pig's tails, sheep's trotters, cow's hooves – truly great snacks to accompany drinks.

"Squat down in a horse stance, and I'll explain slowly."

Manager Hanna took out a bottle of red wine, patted the body of the bottle, and the cork, breaking through the wax seal, popped out by itself.

She hadn't come empty-handed; she poured the wine into a decanter and swirled it, then divided it into two wine glasses.

Pig's ears paired with red wine was a much more refined combination than salty pork slices with vodka.

Facing two people he couldn't afford to provoke, Chen Fei could only grimace and suck in his chest, tuck in his belly, stand with his waist upright, open his hips, drop his shoulders, and raise his groin, half-squatting down into a perfect toilet step position, also known as the horse stance.

A work team's horse would definitely not be able to squat in such a way, so the correct term should be the toilet step.
