218 First Clan Meeting
A week later, after everyone returned to the royal palace and Sylvia was resting peacefully in the comfort of her chamber and servants, the King received a letter from the elders.
"Damn it. This is exactly what I did not want to happen." Frederick Akhekh crumpled the neatly beautiful crafted handwritten letter and tossed it onto the face of the messenger lizardmen, who trembled in fear.
In fact, everyone in the courtroom trembled in fear because it had been a while since they had seen their King so angry.
Without any other explanation, Frederick Akhekh stood up from the throne and abruptly stormed toward one corner of the palace, the chamber of the newly arrived fourth princess.
News started spreading that something huge was going down, putting Melissa in a particularly good mood. "Serves her right." Melissa sneered.
After hearing that her newest sister was not as powerless as she would like her to be, this was good news for Melissa.
"Keep me informed." She told her servants, but the King closed the chamber doors after entering, so no one knew what was happening.
And if they knew... they would have been utterly shocked.
Inside the chamber... the angry Draconian King was no longer to be seen. There was only a father who sighed after seeing Sylvia sleeping on the bed even without realizing that someone had waltzed in.
"She must still be feeling very weak." The King gently lifted his hand and patted her soft, luscious silver curls. None of his movements disturbed her sleep.
He just stood there by the bed and continued to silently stare at the sleeping princess, who was the spitting image of her mother. He then left after a while.
When Sylvia woke up later in the evening, he was nowhere to be seen. However, she was immediately briefed by the maids and asked to meet the King in the courtroom.
That too, all the three maids looked stressed when they informed her about this. Something big had happened when she was sleeping? Sylvia was confused.
The wolf had somehow sniffed her all the way back to the palace and found her all on his own. So now she was traveling on top of the wolf.
Between the majestic Draconian King and the Lycan King, the young wolf flapped its wings sloppily, with Sylvia looking a little embarrassed.
At first, she had been stubborn about not relying on anyone and showing off her mount, but how could the wolf pup compare to a dragon and the lycan lord? Nevertheless, she held her ground, and the group traveled at her pace, finally reaching the site of the clan meeting.
"Wait, Sylvia. Stop here for one second." Frederick Akhekh pulled her at the last minute, leaving Roman and the wolf to stare at each other.
"Listen, I am warning you right here and now. In the clan meeting, you are ought to keep your mouth shut. You shouldn't speak under any circumstances. Just nod if needed."
"But-"
"Even after that, if someone forces you to talk, I will take care of that." Frederick Akhekh cut her off. He looked extra stern and angry, as if someone had killed his favorite pet. So Sylvia did not speak anything back. For now.
If she said the wrong thing, the man looked like he was going to parcel her and send her back to the palace. He really meant business, so this was for the best.
Sylvia also just wanted to observe everything. She didn't have any intentions of disobeying him.
Nevertheless, the King ended up warning her a few more times before finally walking up to the small group gathered near something that looked like a temple. Roman followed him, and Sylvia was at the end.
"Hmmm. I am here. Let's start. Who wanted to summon a meeting so urgently?" Frederick Akhekh commanded, his voice resounding in the forest.
All the elders gathered gulped a little under the dominating domineering aura of the draconian king, but one particular elder smiled casually and cleared his throat.
"That would be me, your highness."
