The bolt that had knocked Reon out had not stopped. Thanks to Kamiya's defense shield they were saved but the electric bolts were showered on them.
"Just where are they coming from?" Kamiya looked around the floor.
All he could see was the bright spotlight they stood under, the corners of the room were dark and so was the roof.
Hitori lifted his head to the ceiling. Sparks of blue light sparkled and bolts of electricity descended from the four corners of the ceiling.
Hitori clicked his tongue, he wanted to assure their protection and he could not let Kamiya handle the defense part.
"Leave the defense to me," Hitori said, "you check on Reon-san," Kamiya glanced at Hitori.
Hitori pulled both of his hands above his head, "Kori no Mahou: Ice wall." he chanted the spell and frozen ice came out from his hands.
Hitori then glanced at Kamiya. His eyebrows were cornered down, his eyes were half-shut because of the power Kamiya had to put into holding his defense shield.
"On the count, let go," an ice wall had boomed out of Hitori's hands, he held the wall above his head, it was big enough to cover three of them under it, "three!"
Kamiya bent down, he pulled his wand in its leather and rolled on the ground to reach Reon.
Hitori exchanged positions with Kamiya. He raised the circular ice wall above his head, the electric bolts fell on the wall and Hitori frowned under the pressure.
Kamiya used the healing spell once again, "Naose," he gracefully moved his wand in a circle and stopped it halfway through the second circle.
A light blue light fell on Reon and her health recovered by half. Then Kamiya quickly pulled out HER potions to recover the rest of her health.
"Hitori," Kamiya turned around, "I think… our formation is wrong,"
"Huh? Why all of a sudden?"
"It is not sudden, we can not win unless we use our classes, skills, techniques properly."
"What do you mean?"
"Reon-san and I are who attack from the corners not the ones who get attacked from the dark corners,"
That was enough to trigger Hitori's intelligence. Flashes of his previous fights flashed in front of him.
There had not been a single fight where Hitori had teamed up as a trio. And moreover, all the players he played duo with were either soldiers or mages.
But Hitori had witnessed many battles, clan wars, and realm wars to know how the long-ranged players should play in a formation.
Hitori glanced around the floor. Although he had come up with a strategy, this was not the right time to put it into action.
"Three seconds, Kamiya," Kamiya was looking for a way out when Hitori called him.
He turned his head to Hitori, "when I move the wall, you will have three seconds to shoot down the electric tower above your head," Hitori glanced at Kamiya and gave him a nod.
Kamiya raised his wand out of its case and held it ready above his head. Kamiya adjusted his feet on the ground, gulped, and licked his lips.
Kamiya looked through the translucent ice wall and saw a bolt of electricity. After the bolt landed on the wall, the tower did not shoot another for three seconds.
From the same corner, a bolt landed on the ice wall.
Hitori used all of his strength to move the wall off Kamiya's head, "now!"
Kamiya took his wand behind his head and jerked it at the corner, "Electrify!" let us whose electricity is stronger.
The blue bolt from Kamiya's wand connected with the tower in the corner. It glowed brightly for three seconds and gave Kamiya a good look at the electric tower.
It stood on a wooden stand. There were metals, and irons that formed a hollow sphere, and in the center stood an energy ball.
The ball of energy stayed dull for three seconds, Kamiya's bolt of electricity damaged the outer sphere but could not reach the inner core.
After three seconds, the energy ball turned blue and it emitted its electric bolt.
Kamiya applied more force, he grunted, "so we need to destroy the core,"
"Pull your wand down!" On Hitori's command, Kamiya instinctively pulled his wand down.
The bolt from the electric tower was free to land straight at Kamiya. It flowed down from the top corner.
Kamiya turned around and covered himself with a defense shield. Hitori's ice wall blocked the electric bolt before it could land on Kamiya.
Kamiya turned his head, then turned his body and looked up at the tower, "maybe the fire would do…" Kamiya muttered.
"No need for fire," Hitori shook his head, "you take the defense post, let me handle these towers."
"Huh? No, Hitori, I want to give it one more try," Hitori was surprised by Kamiya's will.
He studied Kamiya before giving him a nod, "three seconds." Another bolt fell on the wall, and Hitori quickly pulled off the wall from Kamiya's head.
Kamiya jerked his wand, "Electrify!" one second passed.
Kamiya's bolt attacked the sphere, another second passed but nothing happened.
Kamiya grunted. The third second passed and nothing happened. His bolt electrified nothing but the metal sphere.
The energy ball started to turn blue. Kamiya noticed it and he lifted his wand back.
Hitori was calmly bringing the wall above Kamiya's head when suddenly, Kamiya swung his wand back at the tower.
Kamiya bit his lip, "Electro beam!" at a speed too quick for Hitori, a bright blue beam erupted from Kamiya's wand.
Hitori paused in the middle with amazement and shock. He had never seen such a quick spell.
The electric tower was about to emit its bolt but when Kamiya's beam crashed with the tower, it broke the outer sphere and took down the energy core at the same time.
The loud electric sound woke Reon. Her eyes flashed open and she stared at the ice wall above her head.
She heard Hitori shout, "Hurry!" the other tower on the left changed its target, Hitori noticed it and shouted, "wand down!"
? The beam disappeared, Kamiya pulled his wand into the leather and jumped forward on the ground.
Hitori rushed and covered Kamiya under an ice shield.
"Damn… what was that spell?" Hitori looked down at Kamiya, he was panting hard.
"A spell that sucks all the remaining mana," Kamiya replied while panting heavily.
Although Hitori was impressed by the spell, he did not think about it for long. Hitori turned back to the towers.
One was destroyed by Kamiya, and three more were left.
"Tch, it sucked everything." Kamiya complained, "and I can not log out, shit!" Kamiya punched the ground.
"W- wait, Kamiya, I have a mana recovery–" Kamiya shook his head, he opened his status screen, "only one… and if you leave your position, we all die."
"Oh no, we can not have you lose your experience points–"
"It is alright… we can gain experience anytime." Hitori wanted to but he could not help Kamiya cause he was right, if Hitori leaves his spot, the electric towers will kill them all.
"I am going to die, meet you in a few minutes–" Kamiya choked on his own words.
Hitori's eyes widened at the sight. He could not believe his eyes.
Reon had jumped off the ground and she forced a flask down Kamiya's throat.
The purple color liquid rushed down Kamiya's throat, and almost choked him.
Reon pulled the flask, "mana recovery potion,"
Hitori looked down at Kamiya. He coughed like a desperate man in need of water.
"He will be alright, Hitori-san," the corner of Hitori's mouth twitched.
