Kamiya's theory was that Kazon feared the hammer Hitori had acquired from the half-giant minotaur they had killed on the ax stone bridge.
Since Kazon avoided Hitori's hammer every time he attacked him, Kamiya was sure of his theory: Kazon the Duergar is afraid of the hammer for some reason.
But Kamiya wanted to check if Kazon was scared of the war hammer only or if he was scared of the hammer Kamiya was wielding.
Kamiya tightened his grip on Hohn's hammer but before he could pick it up and move, he heard a loud metallic sound. As if the whole floor was shaking.
He removed his eyes from Hohn's hammer and turned them to Hitori. Hence not proved, Kamiya's theory was proved wrong.
Kamiya stared at Hitori's hammer that pushed against Kazon's hammer that equally rivaled Hitori's power.
Kazon leaned closer to Hitori, "did you kill the minotaur?"
Hitori was taken by surprise, "yes…" he replied, confidently then, "we did."
Kazon scoffed and pushed against Hitori. They both replied and flew a few feet away from each other.
Kazon walked casually as if nothing was wrong as if he was not in the middle of a battle, as if he was not walking towards his enemy.
"And how you wield its cursed hammer." Hitori looked down at Kazon with a frown.
"Cursed?" Kazon lifted his hammer, and Hitori pulled his hammer to block the attack.
"Whoever touches the hammer directly must die. It was cursed by the minotaur's giant mother with the help of a witch."
Hitori was surprised to know that a war hammer would have such deep history that too inside a game. But then he realized that he was wielding the hammer right now.
Hitori pulled back, "of course, his killers– his murderers– are exceptions to this curse."
Hitori clicked his tongue, "and yet you… have let me do this." Kazon noticed how Hitori moved his arms.
Hitori had to swing his hammer from behind which made it impossible for him to change the hammer's sides in a fraction of a second because if he tries to, the hammer will slide off his grip.
The hammer's blunt side cracked Kazon's mail from the abdomens. Kazon was momentarily lifted off the ground.
Kazon grunted. Hitori pulled his hammer back and turned its side this time, it took him three seconds to do that.
That much time was enough for Kazon to recover from the pain and prepare for defense.
Yagi and Kamiya were basically out of the fight by now. None of them dared to attack Kazon while he was engaged with Hitori.
Tang!
Kazon lifted his hammer and applied all of his pressure to withstand Hitori's hammer swing. His hammer's head pushed against the hammer's sharp tip.
"I am dead anyway…" Kazon muttered to Hitori which sounded more like a whisper.
"Tch." Hitori had lost the opening. Kazon was on guard once again and his defense stats had started to show the results.
"W- what did it say?" Kamiya asked Hitori as soon as he arrived back.
"You did not hear him?" Hitori's eyes were fixed on Kazon who was panting heavily– still in pain maybe, "I will explain it to you later."
What could Kamiya do? He simply nodded with a hard gulp.
"And… Can you help us, Kamiya?" Hitori glanced at him, "Yagi can not wield a hammer and a dagger can not pierce through their scale mail."
Kamiya looked down at his hammer, "hm." He gave a nod, "we need a plan."
Yagi jumped back near Hitori and said, "Boss, I have a plan."
Hitori glanced at Kazon, who stood still, before turning to Yagi.
"We will attack Kazon from the left and the right side simultaneously. When we have broken through his defense, God's Hell will deliver the blow that would lead us to the final blow."
For a character that was not planned to be in the game, Yagi had come up with an amazing plan. Hitori had not expected to hear a plan from him because he thought Yagi's sole purpose was to follow Hitori's orders.
Hitori was convinced. He turned to Kamiya, "You heard him," All Kamiya heard was the maa-maa sound, he could not understand Yagi's bleating.
Hitori got ready for a jumpstart, "Let us move."
Kazon did not move yet. He was… increasing in size. His arms had turned thicker, his height had reached the five feet mark. And his hammer had also increased in size.
Hitori and Yagi were thinking so deeply about the plan that they did not even notice the half a foot increase in Kazon's height.
Kamiya's eyes followed both of them before falling on Kazon who had used his enlarge ability for the second time.
He saw that Yagi had changed his direction to the left side and Hitori was headed to the right side. He knew it would not matter what side you chose after Kazon enlarges.
Kamiya's feet left the ground, he clicked his tongue and rushed in Kazon's direction.
Both Hitori and Yagi were surprised when they realized that Kamiya was not following the plan, instead, he had moved on his own.
"Boss—" Yagi shouted when Kamiya reached Kazon.
"Call me Ryu and support God's Hell with whatever he is about to do!" Hitori came to a sudden stop, he created friction between his shoes and the ground to take a sharp turn around.
The war hammer scraped the mud from the ground and Hitori turned around to cover Kamiya. And by now, everyone had realized Kazon's plan.
Hitori's hammer was blocked by Kazon but the spike managed to touch Kazon's back– nothing much happened though.
Yagi attacked at the same time, he raised his parang and dagger.
He slid down on the mud, his hooves scraped the ground and mud fell on Kazon's legs.
Yagi jerked his hand with the dagger and threw it from below at Kazon's chin.
Unfortunately, Kazon was quick enough to dodge the dagger.
Yagi's butt slid on the ground as he got up on the other side beside Hitori.
Hitori went with one more swing, this time aimed for Kazon's head.
Although Kazon was increasing in size, he was no taller than six feet yet. And that Hitori was close to Kazon, his head was an easy target for the war hammer.
Before Hitori could swing his hammer, Kamiya appeared along with his hammer above his head.
Kazon panicked, he changed his target to the increased threat level and raised his hammer.
"Hitori!" Kamiya shouted, "now!"
Hitori pulled his hammer back. Kazon's eyes went wide because he knew what was coming his way.
"Yagi, now!" Hitori ordered in the Sylvan language. Yagi moved with his blades.
Bang!
The pointed end pierced through Kazon's back, the followthrough made Kazon swing his hammer backward at Hitori's head.
Yagi stretched out his hands to stop the hammer and push it to the other side– Kazon's grip had loosened.
And for the final blow, Kamiya knocked out Kazon by landing a hit on Kazon's chin powerful enough to lift him off the ground and crack his neck at the same time.
But the trio did not stop there, they resumed trashing Kazon till his body was pixelated. They made a mess out of Kazon's body till a message flashed.
