He followed her into the staff room. He glanced at the dark gaming alleys on the way.
He saw Eya adjusting Reon on the bed. "I was thinking of asking Kyo-san for help. He can at least send Akira—"
"No… he needs that boy with him. And we will figure it out ourselves. If things stay calm for the day I will visit Atama-sensei."
She nodded. "And if things stay calm for another day, I will visit Kyo-san and let him in on the events—"
"If it is about letting him know, I think you should do it as soon as possible."
"What do you mean?" She frowned.
He thought about it and then said it out loud, "Give his dungeon a quick tour. I will look after her."
Her mouth dropped open. "It is not that urgent."
"No. It should be done. Just tell him and come back as soon as you can. If you meet trouble on the way, go back to the dungeon. I will handle it here."
She gave it a thought. She looked at Reon, she did not look like she would wake up any time soon. "Kakashi…" she said, looking at him suspiciously, "what was the secret word?"
She still doubted him. Of course, she did.
He angled his brows. He looked troubled. He knew why did it matter though. She was told to leave Reon– which meant telling her to leave her castle in his hands– what if he turns out to be Onogi's man disguised like Kakashi?
So he said, "Himitsu."
A smile of relief spread over Eya's face. She chuckled and gave him a hug.
"Alright. If I don't come back within two hours, you must assume things went south," she said, pulling herself away.
She gave him a pat on the shoulder and walked out of the staff room.
"If she wakes up, give her something to eat!" she shouted as he walked out of the Vr-cade.
Behind her, Kakashi muttered, "Of course… sister."
He turned to give her a look. He wanted her to wake up and be of some use in the moment of crisis. While he was complaining in his mind about her sleeping through the night, a thought struck him.
He closed the staff room door and rushed to Reon's bed in the corner, behind Eya's bed. He summoned a stool from the corner of the room and placed it in front of her.
He saw her face, she had no expressions on her face. No peace, no comfort, no pain, nothing. His heart picked the pace thinking his thought might not just be a thought.
He leaned near her face and grabbed her hand from under his shoulder. That did not bother her sleep at all. He put his fingers on her veins and felt her pulse.
He sighed and kept her hand over her tricep as he got up. He pushed the stool back to its place and walked out of the room to keep an eye outside.
Eya used the way of the guild to get to the forest. Then she did what she always did, but alone this time. She enchanted her card to flow around the forest while she charged towards the lair.
At first, she doubted why Kakashi wanted her to visit Kyoryu so badly. But then she found it rational to let Kyoryu know about the dangerous situation. If things go wrong, at least he will spend hours plotting for revenge instead of finding the culprit.
She was a little scared though. The last time she went into the forest alone was when she was fifteen. Her teenage self had taken over her and she wanted to be separated from her brother.
Some had suspected them to be in a relationship and she realized she has no female friends. Forget about getting female friends, she wanted to pass that expedition herself.
Without her knowledge, a deadly monster approached her. At that time the Guild Minister had not created the 'Safe' and 'Foggy' areas, so it was a mess out there.
Unknown to her, Kakashi was keeping an eye on her without caring about his task. He asked Atama if he should go with her, but he rejected him. So Kakashi went on his own.
What would passing the expedition be worth if he lose his sister? He appeared at the right time and fought the monster, then Eya joined him.
They killed a carnivorous dinosaur and brought back its tooth, its claws, its skin, and its mana core. They were awarded at the Feast, and of course, they were promoted to the next year.
Ever since that day, Eya never went anywhere dangerous without her brother. To let you in on a secret– they both are virgins and have never dated anyone before– and no, they are not into the relationship Akemi is into… the incest!
So this was her first time going into the forest alone. Of course, she was more powerful than her teenage self and had more courage than before, but that did not make her fear go.
She advanced through the forest and finally bumped into the invisible barrier. The vibrations reached Kyoryu and Akira sitting in the lair.
All she had to do was wait for a minute and make sure no monster closes on her.
She saw a figure in the dark and thick fog. "Akira! It is me! Eya-nee," she shouted.
Akira lowered his wand and ran to the barrier. But when he saw her alone– he got suspicious. "Why are you alone?" he asked.
"Oh… long story. That is the reason why I am here. Let me in, I want Kyo-san to hear this."
"You are not with Kakashi aniki. How can I believe you are the real Eya-nee? The one I know?"
She sighed. She leaned closer to him, almost putting her head into the barrier. "I know that Kamiya is being resurrected. No scientist would even believe this to be true enough to lie about," she whispered.
Akira stepped back, convinced, he created a hole in the barrier, and let her in. "You better have an explanation for Kakashi aneki's absence, or you will pay."
She walked through the barrier and watched it seal back on its own. Then she looked at him who was leading the way. "If I were a scientist– or an enemy– you would be long dead before you could even hear the explanation."
