Zhuo Yixuan’s anger never reached Gu Nian. Once the directors had looked away, she didn’t even bother to give Zhuo Yixuan another look.

All of her attention was focused on finding a spot for her precious son that was as far away from this devilish woman as possible.

Luo Xiu had also walked over by now.

He was tall, handsome, and every bit as good looking as any of the top-tier male idols. No wonder he attracted attention anywhere he went.

Ever since he had joined the production team, all sorts of pictures taken stealthily of him had been passed around privately within the production team. Even though he came late today, he immediately attracted the attention of quite a few of individuals.

And Zhuo Yixuan was the first of them.

The displeasure brought about by Gu Nian was gone temporarily. Seeing Luo Xiu walked in front of her, she immediately took a step forward without thinking.

“Luo…”

The man looked up nonchalantly with a insouciant smile on his lips, yet his look was cold like water.

Hidden in it was a hint of a warning.

Zhuo Yixuan stopped herself mid-sentence.

She could act how she wanted when they were alone but she definitely dared not reveal his identity in public. That would anger him.

This man always appeared to be calm and harmless, but that was only when it came to things that he didn’t care about. If his bottom line was touched, one would have to pay the price for that infraction even if just a little bit of it was in question.

Zhuo Yixuan knew that very well.

She had been chasing behind this man for many years and she knew him better than most. She knew the darkness behind his gentle front and how truly cold and manipulative when he wanted to be.

The more she understood him, the more difficult it was for her to rein in her own emotions – to this date, she insisted that as well as she understood him, she was the only one that was good enough to be by his side.

If anyone could end up with him, she would for sure be that person and it wouldn’t be nobody else.

That day shall come sooner or later.

That was what Zhuo Yixuan told herself. Clenching her fists, she maintained the smile on her face and tolerated the way the man looked at her like he didn’t know her as he walked past her.

Her eyes, nevertheless, followed him and she turned with him.

And that was when she spotted the languid girl who could barely keep her eyes open now looked like she had just discovered a new world. Her eyes widened from excitement and she was waving frantically at Luo Xiu.

“Over here, Mr. Luo Xiu.”

Zhuo Yixuan finally noticed that the girl was very beautiful in a non-aggressive way – or, better yet, she was pretty but it was usually concealed by her usual languid and sleepy look.

It was only now, when her deer eyes lit up and her face radiated and all of her features became lively and attractive like they never been before that finally caught Zhuo Yixuan’s attention.

She was mad deep down and she sneered.

So what if she was pretty? She looked like a powered-up maneki neko. There was no way Luo Xiu would pay her any attention.

That thought had only crossed her mind for two seconds when the man stopped in everybody’s gaze and really started walking toward the little mankeki neko.

Zhuo Yixuan was stunned.

Director Geng Hongyu, too, was surprised. “I noticed the two of you standing next to each other outside earlier. Do you two know each other?”

They were standing next to each other… earlier?

That was the first thing that Zhuo Yixuan heard when she came to. She immediately turned and gave Gu Nian an angry and surprised look.

Luo Xiu, standing next to Gu Nian, did not answer the question. He was more curious what Gu Nian’s answer was going to be.

“Today is only the second time I have met Mr. Luo Xiu.” The girl who was pulling out the chair for him looked up and smiled.

Geng Hongyu, “Wow, you two certainly look like you have known each other for a long time.”
