Chapter 86 - “It may be a little unreasonable and its sort of awkward to talk about.” (1)
When Gu Nian had already got to the point of what her precious son should do when things blew up, Zong Shizi, still inside the room, could no longer bear this creepy silence and shuffled over to the entrance.
“Mr. Luo, I trust that you have something personal to take care of?”
A few more seconds had gone by before Luo Xiu finally looked away from Gu Nian.
Turning slighting, he said, “Mmm, why don’t you take off first.”
“Alright, then I…”
Zong Shizi had her eyes lowered this entire time. When she finally looked up and noticed the confetti over Luo Xiu’s grey silk sleepwear, she was perplexed.
She had a lasting impression from her mother/agent who had stressed to her what she needed watching out for when interacting with Luo Xiu. Among them, the first and foremost one was how much of a germophobe he was.
This was still within his limit of acceptable?
Baffled, Zong Shizi turned her head and saw the girl still standing outside of the door.
The girl had her head down and was rubbing her eyes.
Even though her face was half covered by her long hair and her hand, Zong Shizi could still tell right away that this was the little screenwriter who stood in for her during production.
Noticing that the girl’s eyes were red, something occurred to Zong Shizi. Startled, she said, “Miss Gu, this is a misunderstanding. We are not…”
“Miss Zong.” Luo Xiu interrupted her.
“Huh?” Zong Shizi turned around.
Luo Xiu’s look was cold. He gestured toward the outside of the door and said, “You can go now.”
“Oh, okay.”
Noticing that Luo Xiu was not in the best of mood, Zong Shizi decided against saying anything else. She gave Gu Nian a hesitant look and walked out quickly.
Gu Nian, too, was waiting for Zong Shizi to take off.
It would be far too awkward to talk about this with all three of them there. It was best to avoid that situation. As for the future…
Gu Nian was still thinking the whole thing through in her head when a voice came from above. “What were you asking me, Miss Gu?”
Gu Nian only looked up after she was sure that Zong Shizi had stepped into the elevator lobby from out of the corner of her eyes.
She looked very solemn when she said. “Nobody recorded the two of you last night, right? Miss Zhuo is already somewhat influential within the circle; there might be paparazzi waiting around her. I took a look before coming upstairs and didn’t see any. So all we need to worry about was last night…”
“Gu Nian.”
“… …?”
Gu Nian was pulled right back to the current moment from the faraway land that she was at.
She looked up, baffled: Did her precious son just called her by her full name? Was he annoyed at her? Did he feel that she had cross the line?
She did seem to have overreacted a little from being too worried. T^T
After she was done reflecting upon herself, her eyes drooped. “I apologize, Mr. Luo Xiu. I was too worried that what happened today might negatively impact your career. I can pretend I saw nothing today if you like. I shall not meddle nor would I spread a word about it.”
“… …”
Luo Xiu’s eyes were lowered and his brows furrowed deeply.
The girl within his sight turned into her usual mode when she wasn’t around him, languid and dispirited. Perhaps even worse than normal.
After remaining silent for a little while, he sighed and said, “She only came over this morning.”
Gu Nian, “?”
Gu Nian plunged into deep thought.
What did it mean she just came over this morning? They were too tired from work yesterday so they needed to rest up first, which was why the two of them met up in the morning to…
Possibly this was the first time someone had ran into it and her precious son felt uncomfortable and the need to explain himself?
Mmhmm.
Gu Nian nodded to herself. That must be it.
She thought about it long and hard and, finally, regained control of her expression. With what she thought was a very loving and tender tone that a mother would use when comforting her disturbed son, she said softly, “It’s alright. I understand. You are both young man and woman. It is only normal that you have emotional and other needs…”
Luo Xiu, “… …”
