Chapter 88 - “It may be a little unreasonable and its sort of awkward to talk about.” (3)

Gu Nian looked up when she heard that. She cheered herself up and walked over to him quickly. “Please, Mr. Luo Xiu. I am sorry for the misunderstanding earlier. Let me know what I can help today. I would like to make up for my mistake!”

With his hand still on the drawer, Luo Xiu turned and looked. There were little sparks in his dark brown eyes, “Are you sure about that?”

“Of course!”

“… …”

Luo Xiu didn’t say anything else. He pulled his right hand out from the drawer and in it held a black, silky bag. The content of which was labeled in both Chinese and English – “Blow Dryer.”

Gu Nian recalled Luo Xiu’s hair that was half wet earlier. Perhaps he was showering in the morning when Zhang Xiying stopped by and he has yet had a chance to blow dry it?

It didn’t seem appropriate for her to do so…

“This doesn’t seem very appropriate.”

“… …?”

As soon as her rationality had peaked its head, her rebellious side stomped it back down immediately.

They were a family!

What was so inappropriate about blowing drying her son’s hair?

She wanted to make sure her precious son felt her deep and tender motherly love for him!

As such, Luo Xiu saw the little girl stopping in front of him, rolled up her sleeves, exposing her slender and fair wrists, reached out her arms and said to him, “Give it go me. Trust me. I can do this!”

“… …”

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes and finally gave in.

He placed the black silk bag in the palm of the girl.

Gu Nian clutched the blow dryer through the bag and gave it some thought before she ran into the bathroom. From the towels of many different sizes she picked one of the right size.

Before she left the bathroom, she even remembered to wash her fingers very thoroughly.

Finally, with two clean towels hanging over her left arm and the hair dryer in her right hand, Gu Nian marched back out into the room –

Right now, she was very convinced that she was Mr. Tony, the skilled hair stylist who could do trimming, cutting, washing, and hair drying.

Luo Xiu waited for her in a chair by the floor-to-ceiling window while reading a book… no, reading Son-Raising Diary while he waited for her.

Gu Nian became dispirited as soon as she saw Son-Raising Diary.

She scooted slowly over to Luo Xiu.

Luo Xiu closed the notebook and looked up. “How would you like me to work with you?”

“No need.” Being completely distracted by Son-Raising Diary, Gu Nian said, “You just remain seated. Let me do it.”

“?”

Luo Xiu was taken aback a little.

Gu Nian was completely oblivious to the fact that what she had just said could be interpreted in very differently. Her eyes lowered and she looked to be very calm but her mind was far, far away.

She picked up one of the towels hanging on her arm and carefully draped it over Luo Xiu’s sleepwear and around his neck.

“Hmm, let me dry it with the towel some first. That way it will dry even faster.”

The second towel was tossed over Luo Xiu’s head.

It went dark in front of him. Luo Xiu body froze a little and his fingers, under the armrest, tightened reflexively.

Zhu Hanyu, Anna, and those around him for a while all knew that Luo Xiu could not sleep when there were others around him.

What they didn’t know was that the crux of the problem being that he Luo Xiu could not stand to have another person around him in the dark.

An incident from his childhood made him feel a strong sense of insecurity when that situation arose.

But Luo Xiu said nothing.

He regulated his breathing slowly and suppressed his emotions.

And, at the same time, he could feel through towel that the girl’s hands, which were much smaller than his own, were gently rubbing hair with the towel.

She was very careful with her task. Her motion was so light it was as though she worried that if she used any more force, she would hurt him. He could hear her breathing when she was close.

“How is it? I am not hurting you, am I?” asked Gu Nian, a little worried.

“… …” Hidden in the dark, his dark-brown eyes dimmed a lot. “No, you are not.”
