Chapter 111 - "Mr. Luo Xiu is an angel, not an awful man." (6)
A hint of confusion rose in the man’s tender brown eyes.
After a short silence, he asked, “Just now? In the hallway?”
“No, no.” Gu Nian shook her head immediately and let out a sigh. “Well, it’s good that you didn’t hear it.”
“What did I miss?”
“No. It’s nothing.” Gu Nian denied it right away.
Luo Xiu did not continue to pry and Gu Nian changed the subject quickly. “Mr. Luo Xiu, have you heard any… strange rumors since your arrival at the production team today?”
“Rumors? I ran into Miss Qin as soon as I have arrived and haven’t spoken to any one else yet. What happened?” asked Luo Xiu.
Gu Nian sighed with a headache. “Something did happen. Someone was spreading untrue rumors about you within the production team… but don’t you worry!”
Gu Nian looked up suddenly and gave Luo Xiu a very determined look. “Don’t you worry. I will find the culprit who started it all and beat them up! So much that even their mother wouldn’t recognize them!”
“Okay.”
Luo Xiu lowered his eyes but couldn’t help the smile that crept up onto the corners of his eyes. “I trust you.”
“Mmm.” Gu Nian nodded forcefully. “And I trust Mr. Luo Xiu as well!”
“And what if I’m a bad person?”
“?”
Gu Nian was taken aback a little. She looked up and into the eyes that were tender as always.
That seemed like just a casual joke.
Gu Nian said seriously, “You can’t be. Mr. Luo Xiu is an angel. There is no way that you are a bad person.”
“… …” Luo Xiu was taken aback a little.
A few lines of delicate writing swam past his eyes like little tadpoles.
[I wish you a happy birthday.]
[I wish you a happy life.]
[My angel.]

6:45 AM
An ear-piercing shriek came from Room 717 on the 7th floor of Hotel Xingyue.
“I beg of you, Boss. Please recall your super power and let me live!”
“… …”
Next to the floor lamp.
Luo Xiu closed up the brown cover notebook. He lifted his cold and fair wrist and removed the thin golden-rimmed spectacles that was resting on his nose bridge.
He looked up at the entrance and saw his little assistant, his face twisted, rushing toward him.
“There is fine.”
Luo Xiu stopped him with his tender and heartless words.
“QwQ.”
The little assistant stopped in his track.
He debated long and hard but finally was too intimidated to challenge his boss’s authority. He stopped where he was feeling treated unfairly.
“What is it?”
“I am going to die. Wuwuwu.” The little assistant lifted up his cellphone and was tearless even though he very much would like to cry. “Sister Anna called me early this morning and scolded me for 20 straight minutes. Never once repeated any of the content, mind you!”
“Scolded you?” asked Luo Xiu nonchalantly. “Whatever for?”
“What else could it be? Don’t you know what you have done last Tuesday, Boss?”
“.. …”
Luo Xiu smiled nonchalantly. His brown eyes tender and cold. “Are you blaming me right now?”
“…!”
The tender smile froze the little assistant. He shuddered.
Recollecting himself, he put on the best professional smile that he could muster. “Of course not. I only blame myself for being so incompetent. I couldn’t even suppress the rumor that was being passed around the production crew that you are fond of the little screenwriter and now even Sister Anna had heard about it. It was such a small task and I couldn’t even handle that. I am so useless. Wuwuwuwu.”
Luo Xiu smiled. “Ah, so Anna heard about it as well.”
The little assistant was on the brink of tears. “Yes. She scolded me for 20 straight minutes and asked me what kind of an assistant I am.”
“What did you tell her?”
“I said I wasn’t good enough for the job. Only someone with super power will be good enough for someone like Brother Luo.”
“That’s enough.” Luo Xiu snickered. “You can stop with the woe is me now.”
His defined fingers curled up a little and he tapped on the side of the brown notebook. Luo Xiu seemed to be in a good mood and his voice was friendly.
“You can have her talk to me directly if Anna calls you again.”
The little assistant still had a long face on him. “I wouldn’t dare.”
“Why not? It is what I am telling you to do.”
The little assistant asked cautiously, “Really?”
“Mmm.”
