Chapter 144 - “No way! She’s drunk! We can’t possibly let her leave with you!” (4)

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes.

He took a deep breath and looked up again. “The three of you are sharing a room with two bed, right?”

Jiang Xiaoqing replied reflexively, “Yeah.”

Qiuyi tugged at her. Jiang Xiaoqing gathered herself and turned back around, alarmed, “Why do you ask!”

“My room, 717, is a suite. She doesn’t need to go downstairs. She can sleep in my room.”

“?!” Jiang Xiaoqing went off on him. “No way! Just the two of you? A man and a woman? Not to mention that Gu Nian is drunk. We can’t let her go with you!!”

“You can have her choose.”

“?”

Luo Xiu lowered his eyes and looked in front of his shoulder.

With both of her paws restrained, the girl was particularly quiet. Her docile eyes blinked – they were dark and shiny and she appeared much livelier than her normal languid look.

Her mind, however, might not be all there.

But that’s alright, as long as her instinct was still there – with his current familiarity with Son Raising Diary, Luo Xiu was quite certain how Gu Nian would choose.

Luo Xiu started talking to her, his voice lowered intentionally, much lighter than how he was talking to Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan, “Gu Nian?”

“?”

Gu Nian looked up at him silently.

Luo Xiu, “Who am I?”

Gu Nian, “Luo. Xiu.”

Luo Xiu, “Who are they?”

Gu Nian glanced over at them and quickly turned back toward Luo Xiu. “I don’t know them!”

Jiang Xiaoqing, “……?”

Qin Yuanyuan, “……?”

Even Luo Xiu was surprised by that.

After a little while, his lips started to curve upward uncontrollably and he had the first light smile for the night since his patient was all gone. “Pick one, who do you want to leave with. Me or them?”

“You!”

Gu Nian didn’t even pick.

Jiang Xiaoqing, “……?”

Qin Yuanyuan, “……?”

“Alright.”

Even though he knew full well that the girl would not respond to him, Luo Xiu still acknowledged her lightly before turning toward the other two girls.

His amber-like eyes returned to their nonchalant state.

“You heard her.”

Jiang Xiaoqing, gathering herself, was angry, “She is drunk! She didn’t know what she is saying!”

“Sure I can,” said the girl leaning against Luo Xiu seriously and solemnly.

“… … ….”

Jiang Xiaoqing almost flipped over from anger.

Finally, Qin Yuanyuan, as intimidated as she was by Luo Xiu, still didn’t want to just let Gu Nian leave with him, said through gritted teeth, “Mr. Luo, there might be some misunderstanding, Gu Nian’s feelings toward you is not……”

“I know.” Luo Xiu cut her off coldly.

Qin Yuanyuan looked up in surprise.

“I don’t care how she sees me right now because we can course correct that in the future,” said Luo Xiu as he looked at Gu Nian deeply. “But, either way, that is between her and I. It’s not your place to interfere.”

“We are not trying to interfere,” said Jiang Xiaoqing. “We just worry that –“

The very last bit of Luo Xiu’s patience was gone.

He couldn’t be bother to listen to them anymore. Pulling out his cellphone from his pocket and, with a flick of his thumb, he snapped a picture with the front camera of himself and the half-conscious girl in his arm.

Luo Xiu showed the picture to the two other girls coldly.

“Here’s a picture of the two of us together.”

“…….?”

Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan were dumbfounded. They had no idea what the purpose of it all was.

Luo Xiu brought the phone back toward himself and turned on the recording feature.

His eyes lowered and his side profile cold, his voice into the microphone was low and magnetic.

“If anything happened to Gu Nian tomorrow. I am the culprit. This is the evidence. Please call the cops on me.”

He was done with the recording.

Luo Xiu tossed the cellphone over to Jiang Xiaoqing.

Looking up halfway coldly, none of his usual tenderness could be seen in his eyes.

“Is that good enough?”

Jiang Xiaoqing and Qin Yuanyuan were stupefied.

Luo Xiu ignored them and walked inside of the elevator with Gu Nian.

Standing outside of the elevator after its door had closed, the two finally recollected themselves.

Jiang Xiaoqing, “How was it that Gu Nian usually describe her son?”

Qin Yuanyuan, “Tender, naïve, kind angel.”

Jiang Xiaoqing, “……?”

Qin Yuanyuan, “……?”

After a little while, Jiang Xiaoqing let out a long sigh, “Oy, blind at such a young age.”
