Chapter 164 - "Luo Xiu, you are 'done for'." (3)
Luo Xiu paused in mid action.
He was used to looked at the cool and indifferent, emotionless reflection in mirrors. As pretty and delicate as the body was, there was nothing beneath the skin.
At this moment in time, however, he felt a kind of emotions gushing out like spring water from his dried-up heart and bit by bit, it started filling up his body.
Said emotions brimmed in his heart and almost overflown. He felt longing, he felt……
That wouldn’t it be so nice if the shadow behind the door wasn’t just his illusion but was real instead.
Standing alone in front of the mirror, Luo Xiu lowered his eyes and chuckled all of a sudden.
A chuckled filled with an awkward self-mockery.
Had Luo Zhan learned this, he would have given him the same mockery –
[This day couldn’t have come sooner.]
His pill that he had placed on the tip of his tongue had already melted and the bitterness was numbing. Luo Xiu rolled his tongue and swallowed the pill.
When he looked up again, he looked cold as usual and his smile nonchalant.
Screwing the cap back onto the bottle and putting it away, Luo Xiu turned around.
Luo Xiu went back into his bedroom and picked up Son Raising Diary that was sitting on the table. Before he could flip it open, his phone that he had casually placed at the corner of the table started vibrating.
Luo Xiu stopped and looked over at it.
For the most part, his cellphone was not that important to him. Very few people has his number and it rarely rang.
Unless……
Luo Xiu put the notebook down and picked the phone up. A familiar number blinked on the screen.
It was Luo Zhan.
Luo Xiu sat down in the chair, flicked his finger, and brought the phone up to his ear with his eyes languid. “What is it?”
“So you got your phone back huh?”
“……”
Luo Xiu’s finger that was flipping through Son Raising Diary stopped.
After a second or two, he looked up. Hints of coldness could be seen in his normally tender brown eyes. “You’ve called me earlier? Who answered it?”
The person on the other end sneered languidly. “I thought Young Master Luo is a know-it-all. You tell me.”
“……”
Luo Xiu closed up the notebook.
After a little while, the coldness in his eyes subsided and was replaced by a cool smile. “It seems you aren’t too pleased with my present after being disciplined last time.”
Perhaps reminded of some unwanted memories, the person on the other side went silenced for two seconds before he snickered, “If you are so good, then don’t bring my mother into the mix next time.”
Luo Xiu smiled tenderly and said, “As long as it will serve my purpose, I will use any means.”
“……”
Then it was the familiar stalemate situation between these two brothers.
That went on for a little while and Luo Xiu was the one who broke the silence. His voice back to nonchalant. “My mood is just alright today and I don’t have the patience to play the brotherly love game with you. If you are only completing the assignment given to you by grandpa, we have been on the phone long enough for you to reply back to him. As you are the younger brother, I’ll even let you hang up first.”
The other person went silence for a few more seconds and suddenly chuckled, “So that was your intention.”
“……” Luo Xiu looked up.
“You brought up the previous incident purposefully to annoy me in an effort to distract me. Do you think I am still in my teens?”
Luo Xiu’s fingers that were resting on the notebook moved a little but he did not respond.
“I thought she was just a girl who knew about your identity. As it turned out…… she is something that Luo Xiu cared about?”
The voice that was in between a young man and an adolescence boy were languid and hoarse. It sounded like he was sitting with his head facing up, he laughed in an unrestrained way.
“Luo Xiu, you are ‘done for’.”
