Chapter 224 - "There will be no internet access in order to avoid any sort of ‘external help’."(1)

Zhuo Yixuan only half believed in what her agent said to her. Nevertheless, her irritability was quelled some.

Zhuo Yixuan looked behind her and only asked in a low voice after confirming that there was nobody behind her, “Did you prepare anything for the scripts for the show then?... I mean, I can write it myself as well, but you can’t be too prepared, right?”

The agent, “The show wants to keep everything secretive and won’t let us know anything in advance, but worry not. Did you see that new folder that I added to your laptop? There are a bunch of scripts in there. You will be able to find something that works no matter what kind of crazy ideas they come up with.”

Zhuo Yixuan’s lips curved upward but not for long. “Good. I see that you are well prepared.”

“This is your opportunity to turn everything around. We wouldn’t have sent you out there if we weren't prepared for it.”

“……”

After another round of nagging, Zhuo Yixuan finally hung up impatiently.

The sea breeze was even colder now, even if just a little bit of it came through the crack, it was still cold enough that Zhuo Yixuan needed to wrap her shawl tighter around herself.

“What kind of crazy production team would pick such a god-awful location……” Zhuo Yixuan grumbled disgruntledly as she walked toward the long table.

The long table was covered with clean, white table clothes with antique-looking candlestick holders on both sides. In the middle was a colorful glazed vase filled with red roses.

There were four chairs on each side of the clean, white tablecloths. Napkins that were folded into flower shapes were placed on plates rubbed so clean they were shiny.

Workers from the production team were there taking attendance. “How is it that we are still missing a few people?”

“We are missing one from the actor team and one from the screenwriter team. We just got a message. It seems they had gotten lost on the island.”

“Uh, how do you get lost in a place that’s so small? Exactly how poor was their sense of direction?”

“Let’s just wait a little longer.”

“I guess we will have to do that.”

Zhuo Yixuan arrogantly walked past the two workers who were talking and had her head held high. She stuck her lips out to herself when she overheard their conversation.

Being late because they got lost? That was an excuse from decades ago.

Never mind about the actor. One of them was in the screenwriter team? A bunch of nameless, faceless screenwriters that lord knew where the production crew had found them from were more stuck up than she was?

Zhuo Yixuan stopped next to the long table and, right when she was contemplating where she should sit, heard one of the workers that she had just walked past look up and said, “Oh, they are finally here.”

“?”

Zhuo Yixuan looked over casually and saw two silhouettes walking up the stairs one after another from the entrance of the patio.

The loose hair, ordinary-looking spectacles, a black tee and khaki pants. Wrapped inside them was a slender waist and a pair of long legs.

The young man guided the girl behind him and his side profile while he waited for her patiently was enough to stun everyone who hadn’t met him before.

Zhuo Yixuan, too, was one of them.

While she questioned in her head whether  she was seeing things, she heard the workers behind her recollect themselves and start chatting in a low voice.

“Is he an actor? He’s so good looking.”

“I think so.”

“Did he debut recently? How else is it possible that I don’t even know his name?”

“It says his name is Luo Xiu in his document. I don’t know who he is either.”

“I am guessing he would be a big hit after the first season though.”

“Right?”

Zhuo Yixuan had barely recollected herself.

The joy in her eyes lasted for barely a second then it froze on her face when she saw clearly that the girl that was behind the man––

Gu! Nian!

Why was it the Gu Nian who just wouldn’t quit?!
