The castle, away from the side of the ruins, Justine carefully walked along the deserted corridor. Although she was in a hurry, she dared not make more noise for fear of attracting the pursuit of the Cloud Fog servants.
The Cloud Fog servants had turned into bloodthirsty wild beasts. They had started to chase and kill the followers out of nowhere; even Finkel, who was lying injured in the dormitory, had suffered. Luckily, she had cleverly hidden herself.
"Ivan, you must wait for me," Justine had just received a message from Ivan through the Secret Method Seal, telling her to meet him behind the castle, wait no further.
She hurriedly ran out from her hiding spot, fortunately, the Cloud Fog servants had killed most of the creatures in the castle, and there should not be many left inside at this moment.
Justine arrived at the base of the caste wall without much danger, quietly climbed the wall, looked around, did not see any tools that could help her descend, and after peeking over the edge of the wall, she gritted her teeth and climbed onto the battlement.
She made a leap.
With a dagger in her hand, she used her hands and feet, occasionally stepping on the wall for leverage, the dagger making a hissing sound as it scraped against the wall.
Seconds later, she fell to the ground with a dusty face, twisting her ankle and falling heavily.
Her left foot seemed to have been twisted.
Knowing she had no time to delay, she endured the pain in her foot and ran towards the direction away from the castle.
"Chiu chiu."
A Cloud Fog servant, attracted by the noise, floated up to the battlements, the fleeing figure caught its eye, it emitted an excited howl, its body like cotton candy swooped down the wall, heading straight for the prey below.
Hearing the noise behind, Justine's body trembled involuntarily.
She couldn't help but look back, only to see the double green eyes and body of the Cloud Fog creature; no cute aura could be felt from the Cloud Fog servant anymore.
She wanted to hasten her pace but accidentally tripped over a root in her panic, her delicate body tumbling towards the ground.
"Ivan, save me."
Justine shouted towards her pocket, hoping to transmit her voice to him through the Secret Method Seal inside, but unfortunately, the Secret Method Seal was not activated.
Seeing the prey stop, the Cloud Fog servant was even more excited, rushing down with the wind and fog, the wind turning into blades, floating in front like a moon, heading straight for the prey, its anthropomorphic eyes emanating intense intentions of slaughter.
"Whoosh!"
Just as the Cloud Fog servant was three or four meters away from Justine, a sword stabbed from the side.
This strike was particularly swift, reaching in front of the body of the Cloud Fog servant made of fog before the wind blade could even return.
The Quillen Sword was like stabbing into a soft gel.
Even though the sword penetrated the body, the Cloud Fog servant was not panicked. Its weakness was a small crystal, hidden deep within its body, indiscernible to outsiders.
With a crack, something shattered.
The anthropomorphic eyes of the Cloud Fog servant looked at the attacker, seemingly conveying its disbelief.
The Iron Ridge Giant Turtle snorted, seemingly reluctant, but skillfully wrapped the glass bottle and swallowed it, clearly it had been fed a nutrition potion before.
Seeing this, Pearney's eyes brightened.
The second and third nutrition potions drifted over, each being swallowed by the Iron Ridge Giant Turtle.
When Ivan was about to feed the fourth potion, the Iron Ridge Giant Turtle suddenly closed its mouth and sank into the water, blowing bubbles on the surface but rolling its eyes at the three people, looking like a petulant child.
The three exchanged glances.
Ivan asked in disbelief, "It's not being picky and throwing a tantrum, is it?" To be that big and ferocious and still be picky and temperamental.
Pearney and Justine looked at each other and nodded simultaneously.
Pearney urged, "Do you have any other potions?"
"Physical Strength Potion."
Ivan took one out, opened the cap, and swung it in front of the Iron Ridge Giant Turtle. The turtle poked its head out and swallowed it, instantly perking up.
The three successfully boarded the Dark Lahr.
Curiously, Pearney asked, "Where did you get all those potions from?"
"I made them myself."
The last time he concocted potions, Ivan hadn't yet reported to Lahr. Lahr must have been busy and forgotten about it. Ivan had quite a few potions on him, having concocted 6 bottles of Endurance Ginger Water, consumed one previously, and kept the remaining 5 on him.
He also had 30 bottles of Physical Strength Potion and 10 bottles of Nutrition Potion. If it weren't for the fear of impeding his actions, he could have dealt with Toyennes completely.
"You—you—I—I—you can't take and not know to give them to me, I could have carried them; you're driving me mad!"
Listening to Ivan's explanation, Pearney felt like she had suffered a critical hit. This man actually dared to make a request to Toyennes, and Toyennes foolishly agreed. If she had known, she would have asked too.
Looking at his innocent face, she guessed he had no idea how many magic stones he had thrown away. What a waste of valuable resources, absolutely infuriating!
Ivan hadn't realized why Pearney was reacting so strongly and casually said, "Shall we go back and get them?"
"Ah—You're really going to be the death of me!"
Pearney turned her head away in frustration, thinking how clueless he was to suggest returning to the castle only now.
Accompanied by a low roar, the Iron Ridge Giant Turtle pulled the Dark Lahr away from the dock, heading out to sea from the island.
They were finally leaving the island.
Ivan looked back at the sky behind him. The azure mist in the sky was like spider silk, weaving a massive cage. It was once used by Toyennes to confine apprentices, now used by Billerie to trap Toyennes.
Could they really escape this cage successfully?
