Chapter 8: A little walk!
Zhang Yuan closed his eyes, relishing the taste of the medicinal tea that his precious disciple had brewed for him.
Ming Yuelin stood by his side, as he enjoyed the tea she had prepared, feeling a sense of contentment wash over her, while she took note of the soft, affectionate look on his face.
*tak* Letting out a contended sigh, he placed the empty tea cup on the table and Ming Yuelin asked, "Master, should I bring the breakfast now?".
Zhang Yuan shook his head and stood up from the table "I just had a delicious tea. Let's go for a small walk."
Ming Yuelin was surprised and a concerned frown appeared on her face "But Master, the breakfast might get cold if we go out now."
Smiling, Zhang Yuan shook his head. "Don't worry, it won't get cold."
U-Uh, Ming Yuelin hesitated for a little, as the taste would be good only when you eat it hot. Sure, she can heat it later... but still, she felt uneasy, as she wanted her Master to enjoy the food she made.
Zhang Yuan walked towards the front door of the home and Ming Yuelin took a fleeting glance at the kitchen before running behind him out of the house.
"Master."
As she hurried outside, she was surprised as he disappeared suddenly *wooshh* A soft morning breeze greeted her as she stepped outside, brushing against her face and causing her hair to flutter in the wind. Rêạd new chapters at novelhall.com
She turned her gaze and saw Zhang Yuan standing at the edge of the cliff, teh samze breeze rustling his long white hair as he stood with his hands behind his back.
"Master." She walked close to him cautiously as he was on the edge of the cliff. One misstep and she would directly reach Heaven.
As she reached near him, she extended her head to look down and her heart sank "H-How high are we?" she was sure that if she jumped from here, even her bones wouldn't remain.
Zhang Yuan smiled playfully and his intrusive thoughts won as he stretched his hand gently pushing her on the back.
"YAAAAHHHHHH!!!" She screamed in horror and she felt her heart skip a beat as she gazed into the seemingly endless abyss below.
"M-Master." She reached out clumsily and quickly grabbed Zhang Yuan's robe for support.
Zhang Yuan chuckled seeing her scared face, while while Ming Yuelin tried to steady her racing heart by taking slow, deep breaths.
For a second, she thought she had fallen down.
She turned her trembling eyes and looked at her Master chuckling at her.
"M-Master, don't play with my life."
Zhang Yuan's smile was gentle as he reassured her "Don't worry. I won't let my disciple die."
-_- Ming Yuelin caught a quick glance at his face before shifting her gaze downward to her own hands, which were firmly gripping onto the fabric of his robes.
A slight blush appeared on her face but she didn't let go and turned her gaze to the greenery below, however, at this time, she saw a small town at the distance and squinted her eyes to take a better look.
'Is that a town?'
Only then did she remember and asked, "Master, where are we right now?"
With a nod, Zhang Yuan spoke "We are in the Northern Bei kingdom of the Haoshu Dynasty."
Northern Bei Kingdom! Ming Yuelin muttered under her breath as she remembered the world map.
'We are in a totally different Dynasty? the Ming Province was in the Tang Dynasty. He crossed a whole Dynasty in a blink of an eye?'
Zhang Yuan couldn't help but shake his head in amusement as he watched his disciple's adorable antics. and they continued their small walk, talking about different things.
They exchanged a few words, their voices blending harmoniously with the surrounding sounds of nature.
The world seemed to slow down as they strolled together, enjoying each other's company in the peaceful morning.
...
Zhang Yuan and Ming Yuelin were sitting on a large rock beside the lake, basking in the serenity and beauty of the lake.
"Master, let's return... you are yet to have your breakfast."
Zhang Yuan gave a nod and as Ming Yuelin blinked her eyes, she was standing in front of the wooden house.
Wha- Her jaw dropped. He did that again!
With curious eyes, she turned to look at Zhang Yuan "Master, how are you doing this? Can I also learn this?"
Zhang Yuan nodded his head faintly "En. I will teach you this later."
Huh? Ming Yuelin was startled, she just asked that for fun, but he will... really teach me?
A sweet smile appeared on her face "Thank you so much, Master."
Seeing the joyous smile on his disciple's face, Zhang Yuan's heart softened and he chuckled to himself.
This is the true essence of living—these little heart fluttering movements.
Ming Yuelin hurried into the kitchen to check on the soup she had prepared, and upon lifting the lid of the pot, she was taken aback by the billowing steam emanating from it.
"It's... still hot."
As she released a sigh of relief, she reached for a bowl and carefully poured the hot soup into it.
With deliberate and cautious movements, she made her way to the dining table and placed the bowl of steaming soup in front of her master along with a spoon.
"Master, Crimson mushroom soup."
Zhang Yuan couldn't help but chuckle "You turned that 6900 year old, Crimson Mushroom, your family treasure, into soup."
Ming Yuelin sulked her lips "Hmph, that's because the master refused to accept my gift, So I made it like this. It is so good for your health."
Zhang Yuan gave a nod "Yeah, bring your fill too. let's eat it together."
Ming Yuelin went into the kitchen and brought her own bowl of soup.
She strolled over to the dining table and, instead of taking a seat across from him, she decided to sit down next to him at the table.
"Master, hope you will like it. And if you want more, ask me, there is more."
Zhang Yuan chuckled and rustled her hair gently "Yeah."
