Chapter 137: The Beast Tide [2]

The forest was alive with chaos, beasts charging from every direction, so Ming Yuelin focused on her profound Sense to sense the attacks of the beasts

"Phoenix feather steps..." She moved like a wisp of smoke, her crimson flames leaving a trail of destruction in her path.

At this time, a snake spirit beast lashed out at her, its fangs dripping with venom, but she vaulted over its attack, her eyes gleaming with focus as she noticed the group of many other small beasts near it.

"Phoenix Tempest."

Her voice was calm as she drew the string of her bow, and this time a massive arrow formed... larger, brighter, the flames swirling around it in a chaotic dance.

*swish* With a single release, the arrow shot forward like a meteor, carving a path of fire through the forest.

*BOOOMMMM* It hit the serpent square in the head, and an explosion of Phoenix fire erupted, incinerating everything in its radius.

The trees shook from the force, and the beast's body was reduced to cinders, the flames flickering in the wind as the forest fell quiet once again.

*woosh* However, the other beasts soon began to lunge toward her, and Ming Yuelin yelled in frustration "Ahhhhh! How many of you are there?"

"Come in line and get beaten by me!"

...

Meanwhile, Zhang Yuan is levitating in the air, carrying Xue Hua in his arms, his eyes glancing down at Ming Yuelin's fight.

He couldn't help but smile proudly "She has improved a lot..."

Xue Huw who was in his arms, nodded her head "Yes, master... Senior Sister has gotten powerful after her inheritance."

Smiling, Zhang Yuan replied, "I am sure.. If you cultivate enough, you will soon catch up to her."

Xue Hua gave a faint nod and replied "Thank you, Master..."

Zhang Yuan's eyes glanced around as he slowly levitated down to the ground "Here should be okay, Hua."

Xue Hua gripped the gauntlets in her hands, ready to smash some spirit beasts, and jumped from his hands, landing on the ground.

A cold glint passed through her red eyes and she uttered "Come at me!"

She raised her fists as the energy swirling around her gauntlets intensified, forming dark purple wisps.

"Let's end this quickly," cold voice escaped her lips.

*woosh* The first spirit beast lunged at her—a massive, snarling bear with stone-like fur.

Ming Yuelin nodded, pulling her bowstring "Right behind you!"

Xue Hua looked at Ming Yuelin blankly as she felt like she was the Senior Sister here 'It should be right in front of you... because you are powerful.'

The two of them charged into the horde together as Xue Hua led the way, her fists glowing with dark energy and she punched her way through the wave of beasts.

Every strike she landed sent shockwaves through the air, vaporizing the spirit beasts in an instant.

Behind her, Ming Yuelin fired arrow after arrow, each one igniting with Crimson Phoenix flames.

Despite her earlier clumsiness, Yuelin found her rhythm, synchronizing her attacks with Xue Hua's movements.

At this time, a large beast—a bear with thick scales and tusks, charged toward them.

Xue Hua was in the middle of fighting off a group of smaller beasts, and it seemed like the bear would hit her head-on.

Ming Yuelin's eyes widened in panic. "Junior Sister, look out!" she yelled, pulling her bowstring and casting a flaming arrow toward the bear.

But as usual, her aim was a bit off, and the arrow missed the bear entirely, hitting a nearby boulder instead.

Xue Hua dodged the bear's massive claw just in time, giving Yuelin an unimpressed glance. "Seriously?"

"Sorry!" Ming Yuelin called out, pulling another arrow.

With a quick leap, Xue Hua jumped onto the bear's back, her gauntlet charged with demonic energy and she drove her fist into the back of the beast's neck, sending a pulse of dark energy through its body.

"ARGHH!" The bear collapsed, and using this chance, Ming Yuelin sent a powerful arrow incinerating the bear with her flames.

The two of them continued fighting the beasts.

However, suddenly, Ming Yuelin tripped over a rock while trying to dodge a beast.

She fell flat on her face, her bow flying out of her hands. "Ouch!" she groaned, rubbing her nose.

Xue Hua glanced back at her, shaking her head. "Focus, Senior Sister."

Ming Yuelin scrambled to her feet, brushing dirt off her robes. "I'm fine, I'm fine! Just a minor setback!"

Zhang Yuan who was looking at the fight, couldn't help but chuckle looking at his disciple's adorable clumsiness.
