Chapter 161 Divine Wall

Name:Spirit Soul Author:
Kyle was astonished by the words of the being that introduced himself as Jun, from the Liad race.

Neither he nor Beatrice had felt a pull towards the place.

As such, they didn't really understand Jun's doubt.

"Yes, we voluntarily entered this place…and we want to leave once we receive more information about our current location.

It would be even better if we could know where the Sadorla forest is located!

As I already said, if our presence in the settlement is not accepted, we are willing to leave, but I hope we are not an inconvenience."

Replying politely, Kyle decided to ask for more information.

An alternative to this would be to try to overwhelm everyone and search through the settlement.

But, for that they were too weak and even if they had been strong enough to do so, their efforts would have been wasted.

Keeping that in mind, Kyle decided to be more friendly and polite.

Being cautious and rational was always better than acting rash, especially in unknown territory.

His behavior seemed to have puzzled Jun, who was observing their expressions.

It was different from what he had heard in the legends they had been taught as children.

Having no reason to deny his request, Jun decided to lead them towards the closest authority that could take it ahead.

While walking through the open space, Kyle couldn't help but feel that everything looked ancient.

Everywhere he looked, there was a large settlement with simple building constructions, spanning over a vast landscape.

The ruins seemed to be as ancient as the language the Liad spoke.

Based on his observations, the constructions didn't even use cement, or any kinds of binding runes to hold the structure in place.

Rather, the materials were placed in such a way that allowed them to be stuck in each other like intricate puzzle pieces, just how it was the case in old times.

Even now, it was not completely out of fashion, but in most cases, an additional layer was added to improve stability.

Rather, most workers made use of cement and other means to create a firm foundation by using specific runes that didn't require much energy to be maintained.

Said energy would be provided by the surroundings or possibly even by energy within the materials that had been used to construct something.

However, that was only something of the past.

The town, villages and tribes he had seen until now were quite underdeveloped, even if he chose to think about the worst possible conditions.

At most, the town where he met the Jars once again, could be acknowledged to have developed to a certain extent, even if it was not great.

Only the Razkadan castle was a proper and well-built building in his opinion of all the constructions he had seen so far.

This made him wonder what exactly the Old Souls of the devoured Universe had been doing since they reincarnated.

'If I'm not wrong, many races should have been revived from extinction because the Old Souls chose them as the race they wanted to reincarnate in.

As such, these races should originate from Old Souls. There are also other races that belong to the planets revolving around Shima, which means that these planets come from…other universes? Soo… how the hell is every race I encountered until now, so underdeveloped?

The necessary knowledge to build proper buildings should be a well-known fact by now…I'm the youngest reincarnation and Karnias is far older than 50,000 years too…'

Kyle was confused, but considering that the tribes and villages were simply too small,, he understood that they had to start building up everything from scratch.

It was evident based on the fact that they were most likely built by beings that had fled from their responsibility, past, or former country.

After he realized this, it didn't take long before he recalled that the Alsa village had been bulldozed by a simple attack of some beings at the Vitae stage.

It was a clear sign that one's home could be quickly destroyed, even if it was built properly.

As such, Kyle shook his head, trying to dispel his prejudice against the Liad race, while doing the same to the sudden memories of his past that were flashing in his mind.

At that time, technology had been so advanced that it had been possible to travel through space.

When he recalled his past life, the only times he missed something was when he had to travel.

With advanced technology, it was quite easy to travel around, let alone easily identify one's current location.

It had never been a problem to figure out where he was.

In most cases, even if the distance one had to travel was around half the planet, it didn't take that long using special means of transportation.

However, right now, he got lost inside the Shalivra valley that was around the size of the planet he had inhabited in his first life.

This was ridiculous, even more so because the Shalivra valley was merely a drop in the ocean when compared to the gigantic planet Shima!

Sighing once, Kyle averted his attention once again.

He reverted his focus to his surroundings and the citizen of the settlement who stared at them in confusion and doubt.

That was something that confused him a lot, but instead of asking anything, he quietly followed Jun to the center of the settlement.

They walked with brisk steps, but even then it took them more than two hours to reach the center.

And, they took another half an hour before arriving in front of the biggest building construction.

"Our leader is not in the best of his moods currently because of his personal matters. As such, I hope you two will refrain from bothering him too much, otherwise, even I would have to face his wrath along with you both."

After cautioning them, Jun talked to the guard, who looked at them for a moment before nodding his head.

A moment later, Jun turned before he simply walked away, leaving Kyle and Beatrice on their own.

This caused the two to look at each other before they smiled dryly, trying to prevent turning the serious situation into something ridiculous.

p After the guard had been informed everything about Kyle and Beatrice, he opened the door before calling for the butler and passing on the necessary information to him.

Following that the butler vanished and returned 10 minutes later, requesting them to follow him.

Doing as asked, they followed the butler inside the building.

Only a few minutes later, Kyle was able to tell how many beings inside the building could be nurtured.

He had used his Nurture ability to figure out if there was a way for them to flee if the situation escalated.

But, it looked bad, to put it simply.

As such, he knew that he had to remain calm, even after he figured out why Jun had mentioned that the Leader's mood was bad.

It took him less than a minute to figure out the reason behind the Leader's bad mood.

Kyle could perceive the weak hue of a small Liad that laid on a bed, surrounded by one Liad that was stronger, and another one that seemed extremely old.

He didn't need much time, let alone wits to figure out that the small Liad was most likely the Leader's child, and that its weak state was the reason for his father's bad mood.

In fact, Kyle believed that the Liads didn't even know why the child was so weak.

Based on his observations, it didn't look like they were trying to move it outside the green Miasma that caused this state.

In the end, the child's Maest vein was not fully awakened yet.

Only his Pryr cultivation vein had awoken and he was trying to absorb Primordial energy.

But that was not possible because the green Miasma prevented the veins from naturally absorbing it, causing the weakened state as the child's senses must have already deteriorated drastically.

Owing to the side effects, the Maest vein couldn't awaken further.

However, Kyle assumed that it wouldn't take much for the vein to awaken.

They would have to leave the Miasma only for a few days to heal the child.

But when Kyle recalled the way in which Jun had spoken about the green Miasma when they were walking through the settlement, there seemed to be more behind the pull than initially expected.

With that in mind, he got an idea which he wanted to make use of, even if it meant that he had to exploit the Liad race!

'Let's move the mountain to the prophet then!' Kyle simply thought as they entered the hall of the settlement's Leader.

Only a moment later, he spotted the Leader he aimed to exploit, and Kyle couldn't help but feel a little bit reluctant the moment he looked at the Liad.

That was because he sensed that a single mistake could kill him and Beatrice.

With that knowledge, Kyle swallowed his saliva nervously before he bowed lightly to the leader. Giving him a smile, he introduced himself once again.

"Esteemed Leader, I'm thankful for your generosity in meeting me and my partner. My name is Kyle and I hope our sudden arrival does not cause you an inconvenience!"

Afterward, Beatrice introduced himself too, but the Leader had already lost his interest in them before they had even finished speaking.

His skin color that was a much darker shade of green than that of the other Liads they had encountered until now was glowing faintly as he asked,

"So…you guys came from behind the wall? What is it that the two of you desire? Considering that I can talk with the two of you, your minds weren't corroded by greed.

So…speak!"

Kyle was not sure what exactly was going on and took a minute to process his words.

The Liad Leader was suddenly stating something about greed, and corroded mind, which was odd, to begin with.

However, instead of being bothered about the comment that was issued in a rather harsh voice, he answered calmly.

"Because esteemed Leader speaks of desires, I wish to procure information about the location of this place. I figured out that we are still inside the Shalivra valley but that's, unfortunately, everything I know.

If possible, I would like to know the direction we have to take to find the Sadorla forest. Through that, I can figure out how long our journey to the Sadorla forest would take.

After that, we would leave immediately, and prevent causing any inconvenience!"

Kyle's answer was logical from a rational point of view, but the Leader didn't think that way.

He was already annoyed about his child's deteriorating condition.

This caused him to release some of his mana that filled the entire room, threatening Kyle and Beatrice.

"There is no reason for me to tell you the location of this place! Who knows what you will do with it, if you can truly leave the divine wall!"

His eyebrows furrowed on hearing 'divine wall'.

But, somehow Kyle managed to hold back from asking what the hell the Liad race's Leader meant.

Instead, he changed his request to get to know the direction of the Sadorla forest.

That was everything important, right now, after all!

However, even then, the Liad race's Leader wasn't inclined to help them.

In fact, it looked like the Leader didn't even want them to leave, at all.

He somehow feared the possibility of them returning with combat forces, which caused Kyle to feel a little bit frustrated.

It made no sense in his opinion, but there was nothing Kyle could say without irking him further.

Thus, he quickly added,

"In that case, esteemed Leader, how about you tell us the direction of the Sadorla forest, and let us leave peacefully? In exchange, I can help your child take the final step to overcome the weakened state he is currently in?"

The moment Kyle made the offer he had planned to propose a bit later, the Liad race's Leader froze in place, followed by his mana that stopped moving.

Yet, it was just a fraction of a second later that the Leader's face was filled with anger. His mana shot towards Kyle, enveloping him tightly enough to squash him to nothing but mere flesh.

"WHO ARE YOU!!!"
