There were always guards and many other Lohars around the portal that lead to the Ancient treasury. Everyone was expecting and excited to hear the stories of the Cultivators, who had been inside.
However, not many people noticed Kyle and his partners, and even fewer people liked him.
That's why they could leave without any hindrances. It was almost too easy how easy they could return to the dorms where Beatrice ought to be sleeping.
"She is not there, I cannot see her through the nurture ability's eyes, and my blood pact with her tells me that she is not here either." Kyle suddenly said, causing everyone to halt in their tracks.
It was currently a full moon. This was a bad time for Beatrice. However, Kyle knew that she had more than enough of his blood stockpiled to last several months.
There shouldn't be a problem, which was why Kyle and the girls began to frown.
"I got someone else, though," Kyle said the moment he saw the familiar paths of development from someone else.
Right now, there were no clues and they would have to ask others to find out more about Beatrice's current whereabouts.
That was why he went to someone, who might actually know more about Beatrice's location.
Rushing through the full-moon night, Kyle and the others were eerily silent. Nobody heard them, and they weren't seen either.
Not many would run through the Glory Knight's garden around midnight, not normally.
There were a few Lohars, evidently lovers, who were having the time of their life in the open, but Kyle could simply ignore them.
They were not of his interest and could do whatever they wanted.
Within half a minute, Kyle had appeared in a specific dorm room within the commoner's male dorms.
He had jumped through the windows and was ready to question the young brown-furred Lohar, who was about to pull down his pants to sleep naked.
"Hold your hands there, Jaden. Nobody wants to see you naked" Kyle said, teasing the young Lohar quietly.
Jaden Loan, the brown-furred Lohar, who had been saved by Kyle and his partners, froze in his place. He looked at Kyle in astonishment, only to blush the moment he saw Selene and Yasmine behind him.
His hand moved instinctively upward, pulling the pants up again. His head turned red like a tomato, but he didn't scream out.
"K-Kyle…what are you doing here? I thought you were in the Ancient treasury. Did you already emerge from it?"
Jaden Loan had many questions, but he knew that he wouldn't get any answers. Kyle's expression had turned way too serious after he threw out a small joke.
"Do you know where Beatrice is? You know, the other girl, who saved you except Yasmine, here…." Kyle pointed at Yasmine, while speaking, hoping to get an answer almost immediately.
However, it didn't seem like Jaden Loan understood what he wanted to know. The young Lohar was way too baffled about the things that were happening.
"I…She…Are you leaving the Glory Knight academy?" Jaden asked all of a sudden.
'He is quick-witted…well it's not like I didn't know that.' Kyle merely thought while Selene began to tip-toe around.
"We wanted to meet up with Beatrice after returning from the Ancient treasury, to determine what we're going to do in the future," Kyle answered, partially honest.
He knew what they would do in the future, and it was just that they had to find Beatrice, the bloodthirsty pseudo-Vampire.
"So you guys will leave…Beatrice went out hunting. She doesn't like the Glory Knight academy, and everyone ignores her, just like me. That is why she is mostly outside the academy and the city."
Jaden Loan might not have much to do with Kyle and his people, but he was definitely thankful for their help. That was why he wanted to pay attention to Beatrice, to make sure that nothing would happen to her.
If someone dared to attack her, he would try to help her while calling for the Guards. Even if his help wouldn't be great, he could help a bit. This bit was more than nothing, and worth a lot to Jaden.
Kyle noticed that Jaden acted a little bit weird. However, he also knew that Jaden had always paid attention to them. They had many similar lectures before, and Kyle could tell that Jaden wanted to thank them somehow.
"Alright. Do you know in which direction she went?" Kyle asked, not bothering to question whether Jaden's information was right or falsified.
"Can…I come with you guys if you leave?" All of a sudden, instead of answering, Jaden Loan dropped a bomb. Silence filled the dorm room that was more comparable to a tiny place, where nobody could live properly.
Even standing in that room with four people was already more than enough to fill it out completely.
Thus, Yasmine and Selene had thought about jumping out of the window, giving Kyle and Jaden some space.
However, Jaden's question caused everyone to halt in their tracks.
'Take him with us? Why should we?' Yasmine asked, squinting her eyes, while Selene looked at the young Lohar with a complex expression.
"Why do you want to come with us? Is it not a glory for you to attend the Glory Knight academy? You are a commoner and a genius according to everyone. In the future, your life will be great." Kyle knew that Jaden was not treated properly.
His nurture ability told Kyle that there were several problems with Jaden, problems that hadn't existed before the ancient treasury had been opened.
It looked like Jaden had been the punching bag for the Lohars, who hadn't met the threshold to enter the Ancient treasury.
His condition was quite bad, and his situation was obvious.
Nonetheless, Kyle wanted to hear Jaden's reasoning.
"Never in my life was I treated with care. I was always frowned upon, beaten until I was close to death, only to be thrown in the sewage, where I could die, or use my last ounce of strength to pull myself out of it.
You and your friends were the first ones, who genuinely wanted to help me. Everyone, who is remotely intelligent but a commoner gets treated as if they have the best or any other highly-contagious disease.
This is just ridiculous and stupid. I don't want to help a kingdom that treats me like this. They don't deserve my intelligence!"
Jaden had much more to say, but Kyle had already taken a step forward, his hands landing on each side of his shoulder.
He looked deep into Jaden's eyes, full of pride while activating his Nurture ability.
"Of course, you can come with us. But now lead us to Beatrice, alright? I doubt that you need to pack up anything special." Kyle said all of a sudden.
He didn't think much when inviting Jaden to join them. He could tell that the young Lohar was broken, that he lost his trust in his own kingdom, and that he wanted to leave.
Kyle wanted to give Jaden the chance, which was exactly what he did.
As long as Jaden would work hard, Kyle would support him as well.
Having an intelligent Cultivator by their side was also not that bad as well. Jaden might not have an elemental affinity but he could become powerful as well.
This was something Kyle could make sure of.
'Well, what's the worst that could happen?' He simply asked himself before shrugging his shoulders inwardly.
With a simple move, Kyle turned around before waving his hands, indicating Yasmine and Selene to jump outside the room once again.
They stared at him in confusion, not sure how exactly Kyle could decide something so important with such ease.
However, itr was not as if they had anything to say against it. In their opinion, Jaden might be worth a shot. During the entire short period they had been taught at the Glory Knight academy, they heard many rumors about an extremely intelligent and talented young commoner; Jaden Loan!
'Maybe it's worth it. Kyle can take care of his cultivation talent, and other development paths to nurture. However, we don't have anyone who is actually talented in organization and planning. This might be quite helpful.' Yasmine nodded her head before jumping out of the window, landing on the ground with a thumping sound.
Selene followed Yasmine, unsure what to think about Kyle's sudden action.
'Jaden is truly pitiful. As long as he doesn't betray us, he can stay with us….I guess? Or do I not want him?' In the end, it was Kyle's decision. After all, everyone followed Kyle and not the other way around.
If someone didn't want to stay in the group, they could leave. Kyle would never force anyone to stay with him against their will. However, he wouldn't change his plans for others either…normally, at least.
For Selene, he had changed his plans, and that was more than enough for her.
'Whatever, the more the merrier!' She concluded, jumping out of the window, and landing right next to Yasmine.
"You…really accept me, just like that?" He was confused, however, Kyle merely nodded his head before he jumped out of the window as well.
"Come fast, or I will use force to drag you out. We need to search for Beatrice," he said, landing on the ground light as a feather, faint drafts of winds shrouding him.
"What a weirdo...but I like it." Jaden could only mumble. He grasped a frame with a picture inside, and stored it in his small spatial ring before he followed the others, jumping out of the window.
All of a sudden winds blasted toward him. They engulfed Jaden and slowed down his fall to allow him to land on the ground without issuing a single sound, except his exclamation.
"Woahh"
"Lead the way." Kyle merely said, allowing Jaden to take the lead.
Jaden nodded his head. He tried to arrange his thoughts but everything happened so quickly. He had merely felt like asking Kyle to join them. Jaden never expected that Kyle was actually willing to accept him in his group, let alone that they would leave so suddenly.
'I should really think before asking anything.' Jaden thought, lecturing himself. However, a bright smile appeared on his face.
He was more than just a little bit happy about the way the situation had changed. His entire life would change thanks to his sudden, and possibly inappropriate question.
But that was not something Jaden thought about right now. Rather, he circulated Primordial energy through his body to enhance his strength.
He rushed outside the Glory Knight academy by jumping over a fence, before using the least crowded alleys to leave the city without anyone's notice.
'He knows that we don't want anyone to see us…' Kyle immediately deducted. He didn't tell Jaden anything. However, the young man immediately figured out what was going on.
This was a great trait and not something one could learn easily. One's perception was something one was born with or something that was trained into someone from a young age.
Kyle smiled, reassured that his choice had been correct.
He had believed that it would be difficult to leave the Lahin kingdom. However, right now, this worry has disappeared completely, replaced by excitement.
In a matter of days, their group had grown by two new members, a Sprite, and a young and intelligent Lohar.
Kyle was excited about the future, and he couldn't wait to go treasure hunting!
